After going over the posts I agree I see no one really claiming they had a concrete answer.

I find it funny how some of you folks believe this to be 100 percent true when the game has yet to be released.... LoL!

Btw, I picked my copy of GTA IV last night. Beat it within 10 hours. Simply amazing! Also, GTA IV seems to be running @ 480p. Oh well. = (

Since when has a game been defined by graphics. MGS's strongpoints are its story, unique gameplay and imo the awesome easter eggs in the game.

Maybe, but I hate that too. Why debate system specs and the ammount of pixels it can produce? I'm seeing it EVERYWHERE not just in SW. I'm an avid PC gamer and I love all the tech talk, but I bought a console to be able to escape all of that for a while and be able to just pop in a game and relax for a bit. Now all I'm seeing is talk of resolution, textures bla bla...LEAVE THAT TO PC PEOPLE!

IF you have to debate something, debate the actual gameplay.

You guys need to be realistic, you can't expect a medicore PC with a last gen graphic card to be able to run at 720p or 1080p without graphical sacrifices. It needs to run at 576p to keep the detail up and a decent frame rate. This should be a prime example of how the cell isn't this super duper CPU that dominates Intel and AMDs high end chips. Some people might think its strange that MGS4 runs that low, when the game isn't as detailed as other games on the market. My guess is its because there is a lot of other things going like complex AI, physics and animation. Which depending on, can be taxing to the CPU and GPU. Especially if a lot of the game revolves completely around it.

Most games use physics, animation and AI as something to complement the graphics. With MGS4, I feel its the other way around.

Its like I said. This gen hardware is a joke of what it was supposed to be. Everytime a dev makes a game we have to hear them complain...

• Blu-Ray is too slow
• Six Axis has no rumble
• PS3 is too hard
• PS3 doesn't have a lot of Ram
• 360 doesn't have a standard HDD
• XBL doesn't allow open content
• Wii is too weak
• 360 lacks disc space
• ect

There could be AA yeah, perhaps 2x AA? But even so, with that resolution and upscaling+AA it will make the image look a lot more blurry than it should. Kojima needs to move to PC.

Ok, first off, nowhere in that link does it say clearly that "MGS4 is running at 576p." They said the guy who believes that the game might be running at 576p. Maybe I skipped it as I was searching through the posts, but I couldn't find it from the link proved.

Secondly, the game isn't even out yet. The guy is making a prediction on screen-shots of the game. Why not wait until the game comes out, then make judgements.

Finally, as a fan of the MGS series, I could care less if this game was running at 240x320 on a ColecoVision, I just want to play the game and see how everything ends up. If the 576p criticisms are true, I could still care less. Just like Halo 3 fans enjoyed the game even though it was 600p, so will the MGS fans.

I think, down the line, it will settle down, and developers will enjoy better development processes because of experience and better optimization. that is unless the console makers decide to jump foreward into the next generation yet again.
