BioShock Infinite, after the storm..

To those that played it, worth the hype?

It's ok, better than most shit FPSs that come out every year. The first one was better though.

As far as FPSs go, it's one of the best. But compared to games like GTA, RDR, The Witcher 2, The Walking Dead, Skyrim and Dragon Age Origins, it doesn't really stand a chance

I couldn't finish it. Too boring. Mostly hype. Good game at best average at worst.

As far as FPS standards go, it's one of best in the last 5 years maybe.

But with shit like Crysis, Medal of Honor and Call of Duty those standards are pretty low.

Amazing world.

It's fantastic.

The only bad thing is I just don't feel like it's worth replaying. 

It's worth playing through for sure. The gameplay was OK, nothing really special but pretty solid, with many weapons, abilities and upgrades. The best thing about it was the world and the Elizabeth character. The story was pretty good and had a clever ending. It was also nice how it was the most beautiful looking game I've ever played.

The worst part is you spend all this time upgrading weapons that don't show up in certain sections or even the end of the game. Didn't upgrade your sniper? Well you're boned. Gee game that's for telling me how to play you. Bread_or_Decide

This will sound stupid but......

It is a great game. One of the besy FPS this generation but it is still a disappointment. Only because there was only a slim chance they could out-do the original Bioshock. (In my mind Bioshock 2 was not needed and does not exist.)

Exceptional setting and atmosphere, interesting story, but average gameplay. That's about it.

It's one of the better FPS in recent years, but it really doesn't reinvent the wheel.

I liked the first 40 min which introduced you to the world. That was pretty amazing but once you get a gun it just became a 5/10 shooter. I stopped playing after an hour and a half.

I think the game is severely underrated here due to the hype it recieved before launch. I'd definitely recommend getting it.

ignore all the morons saying 'average games' or 'boring', its game of the year level. amazing game

I liked it until the last area which annoyed me to the point where I still haven't gone back to finish it. At 50% off it's as good as anything out there right now. I say go for it.

If you are willing to spend $10 more, I'm sure you can find a promo card for AMD Never Settle on ebay. Promo comes with BioShock Infinite, Crysis 3, and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon.

At 50% off id buy it. It's a good game, but not the GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!!!! like you have been hearing on here.

It has fluid combat, you get cool powers, cool guns, your character is decent and what not, good story. Its a good game, but not great.

I hated the fact that you could only carry around 2 weapons. As far as FPSs this year go, Gunslinger gets my vote.freedomfreak

8/10 is my opinion. I just finished it.

I liked it a lot. Super fun gameplay, great intriguing story. It has the best writing this year too.

Great game, well worth a play through!  Had much more fun with this than most FPS games from the last few years. 

I found it to be a masterpiece. Absolutely loved it. For half off?? Dude at that price if you're even considering it JUST DO IT!

Haven't played it yet, despite buying it at a full price, which I almost never do these days. It had this horrible stuttering bug where the frame rate would dip for a few seconds, and it was killing the immersion, gave up on the game after an hour or so. The devs acknowledged and fixed the issue a few months ago, but I just didn't find the time to go back to it, was caught up playing some other games.

Also, I'm suprised how critical people are of the game now when the "honey moon" phase ended, as I remember the hype thread sparkling with praise and positivity. I wonder what will be the reaction on TLoU after the storm, since it was also one of the most anticipated and best recieved titles this year.

It has some problems with the story - not necessarily plot holes but it bring up some themes which make the world and plot seem really interesting than it just drops them. 

The combat is much improved from Bioshock 1/2 but its still nothing special, its merely average instead of bad. 

Having said that the setting is rather incredible and the story is still quite good. It also has some very impressive imagery.

It's worth the current price, but it's definitely not as good as what it was hyped up as.

They really fooled me with their marketing, they did a damn good job at that.

Awesome game with very underrated gameplay imo. The shootous are as fun as you make them! Here are my recomendations to maximize the fun :) :

1. Hand cannon, sniper rifle, shotgun and carbine rifle are the most fun guns to shoot. Machine guns, pistols, explosive weapons feel too light. So use the former as much as possible.
2. Upgrade the vigor bar instead of health and shields. The more vigors you can use the more fun combat becomes!
3. Experiment with vigors as much as possible and different combos. Undertow is my favourite!
4. Stay on the move! Use skylines/hooks as much as possible. 
5. Do cool stuff like ride a skyline up to an airship, jump off and blow the entire crew off with undertow.

Play as above and you will have a great time! There are plenty of dull people out there who only used a couple of vigors and sat behind cover the entire time. Then they whine about mediocre gameplay on forums. Don't become one of them ;)!

bioshock games are timeless much like gta. gunsligner and rage are average titles that no one would bother playing once the new consoles come out.

But didn't having that lasting appeal.

I prefer bioshock 1 over it any day.

It's an extremely Safe (but pretty) linear shooter that takes zero risks. It's got severe pacing problems and  I found the gunplay incredibly boring but to each his own as you will find many enamored with it here for one reason or another.

Your enjoyment of the game will be heavily dependent on your appetite for story and art direction.

The gameplay is great, but don't kid yourself - it's a standard shooting affair, albeit the Vigor powers are more interesting and better animated than Plasmids ever were.

The game is absolutely worth the price.  I've seen it as low as $20 some places already.

I loved it, Bioshock is a thinking man's game without being overly self-important.

Would certainly pay $30 for it.
