[QUOTE="OceanLeet"][QUOTE="the-very-best"][QUOTE="jedigemini"][QUOTE="the-very-best"] I still think Wii will come 3rd. It's got the non gamer market covered but casuals/hardcore gamers will completely avoid the system.
I couldn't care less what analysts think. They also thought PSP would beat DS which was ridiculous to me at the time and look who turned out to be wrong.
the-very-best
Did this guy just say that casual gamers will avoid the Wii?lmao
Casuals want GTAIV, GT5, Halo 3, games like that. Wii doesn't have them so yeah, casuals will avoid the Wii.
Dude, that is pure denial. From Wikipedia, the top selling non-bundled games of all time:
- Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES - 18 million)[25]
- Super Mario Land (Game Boy - 14 million)[25]
- Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PS2 - 14 million)[117]
- Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (PS2 - 13 million)[118]
- Super Mario 64 (N64 - 11 million)[25]
- Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec (PS2 - 11 million)[109]
- Grand Theft Auto III (PS2 - 11 million)[118]
- Gran Turismo (PS1 - 10.5 million)[109]
- Super Mario Bros. 2 (NES - 10 million)[25]
- Final Fantasy VII (PS1 - 9.8 million, includes Final Fantasy VII International)[110]
- Gran Turismo 2 (PS1 - 9.34 million)[109]
- New Super Mario Bros. (DS - 8.64 million)[72]
- Nintendogs (DS - 8.53 million approximately, 5.0 million in Europe,[90] 2.1 million in US,[91][92] 1.43 million in Japan)[93]
- Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day! (DS - 8.51 million)[94]
- Mario Kart 64 (N64 - 2.24 million in Japan,[56] 6.23 million in US only,[59] approximately 8.47 million)

- Super Mario Kart (SNES - 8 million)[25]
- GoldenEye 007 (N64 - 8 million)[60]
- Tomb Raider II (PS - 8 million)[40]
- Halo 2 (8 million)[40]
Ok, so lets look. Out of the top 21 best selling non-bundled games of all time, 11 (green) are owned by Nintendo. For those that noticed I highlighted Donkey Kong Country in green for Nintendo...that's right. Donkey Kong the character is infact owned by Nintendo, though DKC was developed by Rare. The rights are Nintendo's hence why it's on the VC. Anyway, another 5 (yellow) have or will be showing up on a Nintendo system. That leaves only 5 (red) that will never show up on a Nintendo console. Out of the top 21 best selling games/franchises ever, over HALF are Nintendo's. And another quarter of them can potentially show up on the Wii. Casuals only interested in GTA, Halo, and GT? lmfao, dude
The list means nothing.
What was the best selling series of last gen? GTA.
Which console doesn't have GTAIV? Wii.
Not to mention the 2nd and 3rd best selling series of last gen, GT, and Halo, both of which aren't on the Wii too.
Dude...lmfao GTA is COMING to Wii. Rockstar has 3 games in development. It may not be GTA4, but it will be a GTA nonetheless. Halo is a great game, but a little overrated. It only appeals to a specific group of gamers. It sells great, but Mario and other franchises are there to counter it. New Super Mario Bros outsold Halo 2. Nintendo, when it's firing on all cylinders, is a mighty force. With the way the Wii is going, Halo 3 is going to look pitiful against the tsunami of Wii games on the horizon from both first and third parties.
