Have you not heard of the teleport system through the Shekiah Slate?

thats only specific points...doesnt help real time traversal at all.

You can walk, sprint, climb and paraglide, burn grass and paraglide with updraft, shield surf, ride horses, ride dear, ride bears, ride sailboats, ride floating sailboats. Towers are also there to unlock and paraglide from. And your comment also fails to point out that all along the way between almost every quest point are secrets, resources, npcs, monster camps, and shrines. If anything, I think I preferred walking and slow paragliding in my playthrough. The more thorough I could be, the better. But options to move fast comes to you almost the very instant you leave the plateau.

I think your problem with traversal is the same as the game as a whole. You want to hate it.

The environment and open world is the best part of the game because it leads to the exploring and survival aspects of the game. All of which is Fabulous. You get abilities from the dungeons/shrines in the game, same thing as the weapons and other items from the previous games. The weapon durability isn't that bad when you get further in the game, I have a few that survive multiple encounters and I'm just a little further then you are in the game.

hopefully you can some sort of transporation or Epona shows up quickly. As the traversal gets old real quick. Link moves slow across the different objective points you need to be at.

So you want to be able to teleport to places you haven't been before?

no, im saying the foot travel is slow and tedious.

Once you get over what essentially acts as the tutorial, the world opens up in full and you'll have the opportunity to find and tame a horse. :)

Just don't get too attached to your first horse. ::grumble grumble::

The game definitely takes some time to get going in terms of exploration (starting area + a bit more) but once you get a few things done and you see the scale of the world and start exploring rather than checking objective markers (and the game will naturally get you to do just that) you'll get the hang of it. I had the same initial reaction internally and it clicked at some point, and I settled in, and now I'm partially in Hyrule and partially on something called Earth.

*Golf clap*. Finally someone can see through the kiddie overrated charade parade that is Nintendo and their games. If Gears of War 4 had any of those issues than it would be rated like a 6.

Ikr? It deserves a 20/10

I've never immersed myself in a game this much, since Dragon Quest 8 on the ps2

-consistent frame rate dips, especially with multiple enemies on screen

??? Its a console game every 10/10 games like MGS4 and GTA4 had massive fps dips. If it was 20fps most of the time fair enough but in heavy fights and stuff you get that with most console games.

jim sterling gave it an 8.5 ...my friend on discord gave it a 7.8 ...the 10/10 stuff seems like bs to me..I'll have to reserve judgement until i play it..i plan on getting a switch when they work out some of the problems people have had like the screen scratching..(no, I'm not going to solve that problem for them)..that being said i am intrigued about what makes it a 10/10 for so many
