Im just glad the pc version wont be dumbed down or a port because of the consoles. So im not totally pissed at this.
Ill hold judgement until it comes out.
WIth all that beign said, Crysis and Crysis Warhead are AWESOME games.

Because if you read many of these posts, people are getting worried about the game being dumbed down just from a simple announcement.the_ChEeSe_mAn2
If you know what's involved you don't need to be told from a official source to know what will happen.
You don't need to be a tech head to realize a console Crysis loses it's open environment.
[QUOTE="Nokanhav"][QUOTE="the_ChEeSe_mAn2"]Wow so many hermits overreacting. I would rather wait for gameplay trailers/screenshots before moaning about Crysis 2 being dumbed down. the_ChEeSe_mAn2
Why would we need them? It's a physical reality impossibility that Crysis 2 won't be dumbed down from Crysis 1.
Because if you read many of these posts, people are getting worried about the game being dumbed down just from a simple announcement.That's like saying a game that is for the PS2/Xbox/GC and the PS3/Xbox360/PC could have the possibility of NOT beind dumbed down.
[QUOTE="PS3_3DO"]Very accurate. The PC version does not require a 6K PC rig.Least the PC version is not going to require a $6000 PC to play it and not max it out for almost two years. :lol:
Vandalvideo
$6000 rig to run crysis? Try a $1500 computer buddy.
Why do crysis haters/pc haters think you need a $6000 pc to run it? They made a $600 pc that could play Crysis Warhead on High settings and good FPS.
[QUOTE="Senor_Kami"]Meh, more FPS on a system that already has like 50 billion FPS on it. Cheers I guess.kozzy1234
This isnt just any old FPS, this is THE KING of singleplayer FPS. Crysis is just epic.
Okay, let's not glamorize the game too much now...[QUOTE="kozzy1234"][QUOTE="Senor_Kami"]Meh, more FPS on a system that already has like 50 billion FPS on it. Cheers I guess.Kicker_of_Cans

Okay, let's not glamorize the game too much now...Why? Killzone 2 and Halo 3 are waaaaay over "glamorized".

Okay, let's not glamorize the game too much now...Its a breathtaking game with the best graphics and gameplay this gen imo. Best singleplayer shooter in ages. Its just a shame so many peopel coulnt play it so they hated on it and said "It suckorz" or "You need a 6000$ computer to run it".
The game is from the future and one of the best overall games this gen.
Actually, you're talking about TECH demo's and not an actualy Crysis 2 demo.[QUOTE="DaGamingGod"]
[QUOTE="Nokanhav"]
A FX 5200 can play every single DirectX9 game. Period. But, it can barely play DX9 games from 2003 at reasonable frame rates; much less 2009.
Of course, Crysis can run on consoles. But, it would have to be downgraded and chopped up, thus, it wouldn't be Crysis as we know and love. This is PROVEN in the CryEngine 3 demos.
Nokanhav
duurrrrrrrr!!
I didn't even say it was a Crysis 2 demo.
You can't comment on teh gfx of Crysis 2 because it's not even out yet. The game could look totally different compared to what you saw in the tech demo. Got it? Good.[QUOTE="Nokanhav"][QUOTE="the_ChEeSe_mAn2"]Wow so many hermits overreacting. Because if you read many of these posts, people are getting worried about the game being dumbed down just from a simple announcement.You don't need an announcement to know that a Crysis on consoles will have compromises. A single level in Crysis takes up more RAM in system RAM alone than either console has in its entire being...and that's on minimum detail. Quite simply, something's gotta give. Either Crysis 2 will have smaller levels or (like Doom 3 on the XBox) the console levels will be cut up. Either way, they take away from a fundamental aspect of the original Crysis: large interactive levels.UT03 is actually built upon Xbox code for unreal championship, the xbox version was originally the flagship title, but development shifted and content was cut. What I am alluding to is Epic never had loyalties with the PC platform.Ut2003 came out first and was the obvious superior platform. How could it be a port? There's no reason to start developing for the Xbox first. PC and the original Xbox are pretty much exactly the same.

[QUOTE="Ego-testicle"] $450 dollar rigs that can run Crysis are a fantasy. Everyone who makes these ends up just listing what it would take to upgrade an existing computer. They never take into account a display, an OS, a KB/M. Sometimes they leave out other things. Crysis does not take a $2000 PC to run well, this is true, but I still think anything reasonable, from scratch, ends up in the $600 to 800 range at least, which is as much as I paid for my PS3, so not completely ridiculous. PC gaming is the best kind of gaming on the planet when it all works well, but putting together a brand new PC for $200 is still a pipe dream. Vandalvideo$450 rig that can run Crysis on max? Super fantasy. Rig that can run Crysis on medium-high for that much? Super hardcore easy to do. Find the cheapest dual core X64 CPU, allocate 50-to-65 percent of $499 USD towards the GPU and play Crysis at 1280x720p.
This is a sad, sad day for PC...Mr_VersipellisAs example of efficiency improvements, CryEngine3's deferred rendering makes lighting efficient. On the PC, this leads to more resource for other effects. On the HD consoles, it enables essential CryEngine3 experience to be enabled on these devices.

One of CE3's strenghts is the much improved streaming. I can totally see the levels being partially streamed on consoles.
[QUOTE="madskills6117"]
Crysis 2 on consoles will not looks as good as it's PC counterpart but that's not the goal of Crytek. Crytek is not only looking to cash in on the Crysis name but to surpass any console only game. Anyone who thinks Crysis 2 will be anything short of amazing looking on consoles is delusional. This is Crytek's chance to show what the new engine can do so they can lease it to other developers. Sort of what Epic did with Gears of War and the Unreal Engine 3. After the developers picked their jaws up off the ground looking at Gears of War they went and leased the engine based on its potential.
I loved how PC gamers said Crysis couldn't be done on consoles and now Crysis 2 is coming to the 360/PS3 and it will be one of the best looking games.
Current CryEngine2 powered Crysis can't be done on HD consoles. CryEngine3 includes efficiency improvements like deferred rendering for lights.Just to remind you guys:Brainkiller05
I have Crysis for the PC and I've maxed it out and it looks beautiful, but these pictures are a terrible comparison. It looks like someone cropped a maximized portion of the sd quality Cryengine 3 tech demo and compared it with a cropped HD imagine of a direct feed from a game. The comparison makes no sense at all. I'm sure the PC version will still be a lot more beautiful, but just trying to point out the facts.
The giant open ended maps Crysis has is what make it Crysis. Without is it would be just another plain shooter.
Good luck trying to get huge, wide, open, detailed maps in Crysis2 on consoles!!

For the PC, improvements such as these, improves the game's performance on mainstream desktop and laptop PC hardware. This in turn expands PC's gaming market. Atm, I don't see the need to upgrade my ASUS G1SN 15.4 inch laptop (equipped with Geforce 9500M GS and 512MB VRAM) to ASUS G50 15.4 inch laptop (equipped with Geforce 9800M GS 512MB VRAM) i.e. multi-platform console ports runs fine at 1280x70p. I also have Radeon HD 4850 1GB VRAM based desktop PC when I run Crysis beyond mainstream settings and 1280x720p.[QUOTE="Brainkiller05"]Just to remind you guys:bigblunt537

it's because you haven't seen the full comparison video, yes the screenshot is cropped but it's to put emphasis on just how low the draw distance is on the console version, mind you that was just the tech demo[QUOTE="Ego-testicle"] $450 dollar rigs that can run Crysis are a fantasy. I suggest you learn to shop for parts before you say such things. It's entirely possible. In fact, thanks to NewEgg.com, it's quite easy.
