They will sell Starcraft to you 3 times (in 3 different packages) to make the Stolen copies that are gonna hit the net before the game comes out. Diablo will be on ps3 Sims3 ?? lol. Here read this - http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/sims-3-pirated-more-than-180-000-times The next WoW will also be on ps3, the only reason WoW survives from piracy is cause of subscriptionsDanm_999

You're making yourself look like a fool.

Nothing wrong with that. He's just being honest about what he really is. :P

I think it'll be like the Source engine and very scalable, thus there will be a huge difference between the PC and console versions.

BioShockOwnz

Also, the PC version of Cry Engine 3 hasn't even been shown yet! :o :D

Exactly. I doubt Crytek would do that to us. Crytek knows its stuff. I have no problem with them putting it on console and making the best console game, graphically. I think that's a good thing. But it won't compare with the PC version. It won't be dumbed down by consoles.

I'll take your word for it. Crytek are kind of like Blizzard, as they both deliver :P God, I loved the Crysis demo.

Graphics aside, the first Crysis always looked fun to me in general. So, now that the sequel is coming to consoles, I should not be anticipating it because the first one was a PC exclusive, lol? Sorry, but I think I will just anticipate it anyway.

ironcreed

And what exactly are you anticipating? What you saw as fun in the PC version may not reflect the experience you will get in the console version, for example long distance attacks are out.

Why, I am anticipating the GAME of course. Like I said, the first looked fun to me and I am going to be anticipating the sequel now that it is coming to consoles. Does it really bother you that I may want to buy this if it ends up appealing to me? If so, then too bad I guess. Tell you what, why don't you just stop worrying about what I may or may not buy and worry about yourself instead, deal?

Why all the hype? I thought console fanboys felt Crysis was 'boring', 'overrated', 'generic', and 'only hyped for its graphics'. This version of the game will be smaller, look about what you can expect from Crysis on medium-low, and generally be an all around different game.

this could either be incredible ownage or massive fail.

ownage if they manage to port crysis 2 to consoles with only minor changes. massive fail if crysis 2 turns out gimped to work on consoles.

As long as they make a good sequel to the pc version i don't care what they do.

[QUOTE="TheOldOlder"][QUOTE="imprezawrx500"] killzone 2 will continue to sell on ebay and other second hand sites which makes them nill $$$. crysis still sells on steam and d2d so you point being?

not everyone is going to buy it used, most people dont even trade in their games anymore, awareness is strong now, its a much better choice to keep every game in a hard copy to build a large library over time

Some people have space constraints and could care less about a hard copy library (which would just get boxed up and stuffed in some closet) and would prefer virtual libraries which can be backed up, redownloaded, and reinstalled as needed in a much smaller package.

And ONCE AGAIN the irony of system wars. I thought consolites thought Crysis was: "As Overrated as Halo", "Only Eyecandy", "Great graphics MEH gameplay", "Gameplay>Graphics" now that C2 is coming to consoles, consolites are head over heels about it.

Well, PC gamers, you had it coming. Thanks to your pirating the company just couldn't see a profit in doing exclusive pc-games anymore.

The original sold more than $2 Million, and broke even in early 2008. Do some research next time.

I think the point has been missed, again you talk about liking what you saw in the PC version when you have no idea if that will translate over to the console version.

Whether you like it for what it is isn't what I'm talkingn about, I'm talking about people taking their PC Crysis impressions and placing those expectations on the console optimized version.

Yeah, blame the PC gamers for greedy developers wanting to make more profit. It is just a business move. Development costs are rising and they want to make more money. According to the PCGA, the PC is the single most profitable platform. This is a calculated business venture more-so than a thumbs down at pirates.

Naturally you'd expect the PC and console versions to be quite different - if you factor Crysis 1's technicals..... Im not surprised about multiplat tho. Every developer shifts to it as costs rise.

Apparently Crytek did so bad they only had enough money to buy up a popular development studio then overhaul CryEngine 2, poor people.

It's over 3 millions now, and Warhead was also a major success. They spent 15 million Euro making it, part of which was from Nvidia and Intel, and it turned out a good profit.

Big developers shift to consoles, indie developers become big. It is the never ending developer cycle of PCs. It what allows us to have such great games. Consoles are like the retirement homes for long in the tooth PC devs.

Otherwise known as content development costs are too high so more developers, PC or console developers, are spreading their titles across multiple platforms to accommodate costs

I am not so foolish as to expect the game to be equivalent to the PC version of the first Crysis in terms of what it was capable of. I merely thought the game itself looked not only beautiful, but fun as well. Therefore, I am anticipating the sequel beings that it is coming to consoles in hopes that it will end up being something that appeals to me, regardless of it being the monster the first was on PC or not. Just excited to be getting a version of Crysis on consoles period, is that ok?

PC gaming sales are completely different than console sales. On consoles, if you're interested and are willing to pay the money then you but it on day one. PC gaming is different because people have to upgrade their computers or wait for the price drops. Crysis sold over 3 million less than one year after it's release. That's pretty damn good.

Well, beings the game is not released yet, I will wait before I render my judgement on it's quality. As I said though, I am fully aware that the game will obviously not be up to the beastly PC specs of the first, as that is just common sense. Being a console gamer though, I think I will stand a fairly good chance of being happy with the "consolized' version. So until then, I am just going to anticipate it in hopes that it ends up being something I think I will enjoy.

Ps3 = MGS4 - AAAAE, GTA4 - AAAA PC (pirate camp) = ........................ dont see any AAAAs...............Packagez

You do know GS reviews games based on the capabilities of the platform the game is on, right? Its VERY hard to guage a PC's capabilities, hence why its harder for a PC game to get a 10.

I bought every pc game legally with the f'n box. I just built my pc to run Crysis recently. I feel like shooting every hermit that stole or pirated in the head 1,000,000,000 times. Perfect f'n timing. Thanks pirates i spent opver 1000.00 for nothing (since my rig was designed for Crysis series). Meh, at least i can still play Crysis and Warhead i guess. But if your a pirate AVOID ME seriously... this is all your fault..

Consoles have stunted the growth of Pc games and graphics overall since 2006. All these companies are going multi platform so that keeps the games roughly the same because they dont want to spend more time and money creating each platform's strengths per version. Very few companies actually just create a pc version not a port from the begining. Because of the consoles being closed system and limited hardware, the old 8800 series of video cards are still alive and well and can still max all the descent ports and most true Pc games. Normally high end video cards only last about 2 years before they start having to turn down the setting big time. Its been nearly 4 years and we havent seen anything really to push these cards besides Crysis, not counting those poorly opminixed ports. Most likely Crytek will use the Cryengine 2 for the pc hopefully  But if not hopefully they just did a Cryengine 2 upgrade to 3 without the console shortcomings.

Perfect f'n timing. Thanks pirates i spent opver 1000.00 for nothing (since my rig was designed for Crysis series). Meh, at least i can still play Crysis and Warhead i guess. But if your a pirate AVOID ME seriously... this is all your fault..

Just what Crytek wants you to do, blaim the pirates; ignore the obvious business move.

Apparently Crytek did so bad they only had enough money to buy up a popular development studio then overhaul CryEngine 2, poor people.

Don't forget them making only 1.5 million sales by March last year, ooh, 4.5 months to have such a small revenue.

PC gaming sales are completely different than console sales. On consoles, if you're interested and are willing to pay the money then you but it on day one. PC gaming is different because people have to upgrade their computers or wait for the price drops. Crysis sold over 3 million less than one year after it's release. That's pretty damn good.

My post was in sarcasm. Obviously, 1.5 million sales can't be bad, especially if it's over such as short period of time.

I'd be regretful If I spent anywhere near that much to play any single title...... Pity you'd be ignoring so many titles.

It's not piracy, if it was piracy it wouldn't be happening to so many console games as well.

This is just one of those games that are too expensive to stay exclusive, piracy was a useful excuse; despite their financial success with Crysis being clear to everyone.

I see this as good news since I don't own a gaming PC.

Well, PC gamers, you had it coming. Thanks to your pirating the company just couldn't see a profit in doing exclusive pc-games anymore.

Baranga

The original sold more than $2 Million, and broke even in early 2008. Do some research next time.

It's over 3 millions now, and Warhead was also a major success. They spent 15 million Euro making it, part of which was from Nvidia and Intel, and it turned out a good profit.

Crysis didn't sell 3 million and you wouldn't find a single announcement from EA or Crytek that it even sold 2 million. No one has a clue how many people actually bought Crysis but I doubt it was a huge success.
