The variety on the island itself was rather nice. There was coastal beach, jungle, mountain and plains....

As for the level design itself it was rather brilliant. It always provided good cover and plenty of opportunity to sprint from cover to cover. The progression allowed you to know exactly where you needed to go while still allowing a ton of freedom.

You fail and need to stop trolling because it isn't working.

I am one of few people who loved Doom 3 and the expansion; but it has absolutely zero variety to the levels. That's what killed it for some people. I didnt mind at all, as i loved the atmosphere of moving deeper and deeper into the mars facility with all kinds of crazy crap going on as you get further, but for other people it was just one corridor after the next.

With the exception of the one time where you get the monorail outside, and the final sequence in the excavation site, you are constantly walking through corridors.

Crysis has epic level variety, as you basically go wherever the hell you want.

soldier of fortune 2 was much better single player game than this crap much more variety....new york levels,jungle,russian/snow levels...all kinds of crap airports.

It's my work machine; I am not sure of the exact specs because I'm at home. I know it's got a 7900 GS installed with 2GB of RAM, but I don't recall the processor speed. At home, I can run Warhead on enthusiast settings, and I've got 3 GB RAM, a 9800 GTX, and quad core Q9300 at 2.5 Ghz. Crysis proper definitely needs to be toned down a bit on that machine; Warhead runs nicely at the same settings at 1440 X 900.

Well there goes the whole you need to upgrade argument, I don't even remember when the 7900GS released it has to be at least 4 years ago, and it plays warhead on high... nice.

Even the almight Half-life 2 could be put in the is category but with added colour.

CoD4 - Modern World Urban Setting (Middle East/Eastern Europe)

...you see where I'm going with this, every climate in the real world or in sciencefiction or fantasy ahs been done. No matter what Crysis looks like you can say it's not original so you dont really have a point.

Even if crysis has nanosuit online and let's you run fast it's only for a second...on doom3 you can strafe jump faster than you move running on crysis...constantly...plus you can rocket jump unlike crysis...plus actually shoot while climbing up a ladder unlike crysis.

For online deathmatch doom3 pisses all over crysis.

Im talking about for straight up vanilla deathmatch...doom3's online deathmatch is better than crysis...you can move faster constantly, rocket jump,shoot while climbing ladders,turn off lights/shoot certain ones out....take someone's weapon from them, time the hand grenades unlike crysis.

the only thing doom3 lacked is a large map count...if it included more maps/a few larger out of box maps would of had bigger community...but there's some nice sized community made maps...even ones with water.

I played Crysis and the MP sucked. The Quake and Doom series had better MP. As far as Warhead goes I'll be playing that and I'm sure the single player will have it's ok moments but it's nothing compared to what ID software and even Valve have done.

The guns on crysis=so unaccurate the gun shoot to crappy.

in the doom3 map editor you could make beach maps just like crysis size and crap..

there's also a driveable vehicle in doom3 editor you could add to the map.

doom3 deathmatch>crysis.

crysis only has 2 advantages, melee with butt of the gun and option to prone crawl..

but doom3 has like 10 advantages over crysis lol.

plus you cant pull the pin to a hand grenade and throw it as it's about to explode...all you can do is threw it in crysis.

plus melee/prone could be programmed into doom3.

Nope....doom3's guns are more accurate...the whole movement/looking/jumping everything is much smoother than crysis.

nah..not really. D3 is horribly linear, the AI is almost non-existant, the gameplay is far less varied and the combat is overall nowhere near as satysfying as in Crysis
