Grab the Blu-Ray if you have a Blu-Ray set-up. You will be fine. It's rare that you would have an issue with not being able to decode the audio codecs.

Just curious, do you consider the Wii U a next generation console?

The question isn't whether it is or isn't, but what you think.

For me, from what I've seen and heard, it seems weak and not something that I'd consider next gen. For me next gen is more than what's out there.

Needing a stand alone harddrive because the system only has up to 32gb and having a controller that can't last more than 4 hours with a charge seems ridiculous to me.

No. The Wii U is not next gen, it is only current gen soon to be last gen. I already explained this in the other Wii U thread. The Wii U is not next gen, proof? It's games don't look any better than the 360 or PS3, in fact they look worst. So much for the whole "the Wii U is more poweful" claim.

Only "proof" the other side gives is biased wikipedia articles that lists the Wii U as next gen, but that article was probably editited by Nintendo themselves or Nintendo fanboys. So it's unreliable.

The gen with which a console belongs depends on when they're released, the WiiU release is the start of the 8th gen, therefore it is next gen, to argue this does nothing but further prove how thick you are.

Generations are time based. In order for the WiiU to be a last gen console... I'm sure you can fill in the rest.

If you voted no because of graphics you better get ready to not consider the 720 and PS4 next gen either, since they are generation behind the PC.

The engine that runs the tech demo you linked runs beautifully on it.

Studio responsible for the engine has even said the WiiU's minimum is on par with the current gen. Engine devs opinion will always outweigh ours and they have spoken.

Also the second part of your post is not quite clear are you using a Cryengine 3 demo in relation to UE4 or is that seperate from your first statement about UE4?

Which also can run on the WiiU according to Epic themselves, 2 next gen engines both running on the WiiU.

I'm ashamed to be a gamer with all the ignorance around here. Of corse it's a next gen system.
