Fallout: NV Mega Wasteland Hype Thread-Gamespot-Consoles 7.5-PC 8.5

Put in another 4 hours tonight and had zero issues. No freezes, glitches or anything. Seems to be just be a random thing. I know one thing, I am loving it more with every hour I play it. It is so much better than Fallout 3 for me. Scores be damned, as is usually the case with me.

Opinions are something people will always naturally argue about. But yeah, there's nothing really to complain about. Kevin V did a fine review and it's completely understandable why he gave it a 7.5.

Still, it's not unjustified to complain over a poorly done review, imo. Things like OXM's Dead Space review are just laughably bad, but that's another story, and goes more into writing structure and backing up an opinion correctly.

I have the 360 version and by and large it has played great so far. A little hitch in the framerate here and there, but nothing irritating or anything. The only issues I have encountered are 4 freezes in 14 hours of playing, but had zero issues tonight during just over a 4 hour play session. The game ran and played fine and it is simply a fantastic game that is just getting better and better.

More depth, more interesting quests, more humor, more and better weapons, great companion system with a slick command wheel, the factions are great, better conversations that have meaning, better characters, better voice acting and the Vegas/West vibe totally jives with the wasteland aspect perfectly as well. I could go on, but I'll end there. This will probably be my GOTY.

Kevin V said there is a 9 level game lying beneath all the bugs, so it isn't surprising that the score for the PC version is an entire point higher when it is missing the broken emblem in the bad section. At the moment, it's the version closest to meeting the game's full potential (or at the version Kevin played for his reviews is).

Seems like it still has techincal issues but they are in no way as severe as the console versions.

360 version. Hopefully, it will continue to be smooth sailing until the patch arrives.

Just got my first freeze up, fortunately I had save not 2 minutes before. About 14 hours in, was a good run :P

Until this happened I've had far fewer problems with the game today than I did yesterday. The "pausing" that KVO described in the review (for PS3) was hounding me earlier, but today it's left me alone almost entirely. *knocks on wood*

I'm getting really frustrated with the game. It just doesn't seem to match up to F3 so far. I cant get in The Fort which is annoying me.C-Lee

Also, 8.5 on the pc isn't bad at all. The console versions must be really broken. The link here really upped the performance of the game,http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34778, but it looks like it turns off the dust effects. The vegas strip no longer makes the game stutter though, plus I get to keep the high textures on. Not too bad a tradeoff.

8.5, that's more like it! I definitely feel this is a better RPG than Fallout 3, the game really picks up once you hit the strip. As an old school Fallout fan I'm loving this as a Fallout game, not just a current gen RPG, which is much more than I can say about Fallout 3.

I was just taken back by the extent of C&C there was available in the Strip, that and the amount of quests there this. I'm pretty much the opposite as you, I'm siding with NCR and going things in their best interest. I get some nice caps and equipment that way.

Game has frozen 3 times on me now (in about 13 hours on 360). Not TOO bad considering all the auto-saving it does..

Otherwise I'm starting to like the game more and more. The main quest doesn't seem that good so far but between the factions, companions, and the side quests that come with them, the game is pretty awesome. The gambling games never get old for me either.

So any news on when the patch is coming to consoles? Like an exact date? I tried playing tonight and it wouldn't let me complete the "Keep you eyes on the prize" quest because it froze ever single time. I've played for maybe 2.5 hours and already have 6 freezes
