Fallout: NV Mega Wasteland Hype Thread-Gamespot-Consoles 7.5-PC 8.5

Seriously this was a big WTH moment for me. Isn't it usually the PC games that suffer the most from technical issues? _Pedro_

My crash count so far is one after putting around 6 hours in... not too bad.

So there's an udpate out for the 360 version? Does it fix bugs or what?

I should probably finish Fallout 3 first. All the Fallout 3 DLC costs as much as the PC version of NV though. Argh.

hpefully it wont take too to get the mods from fallout 3 to new vegas. i really want that reinforced chinese stealth suit

Graphical mods for the PC version are already being made

Bought it earlier today. :D Loving it so far. I'm at Nipton at the moment. Atmosphere, characters, story, gameplay, everything owns Fallout 3 in my opinion. Performance is abit bad at times. Running at 1080p ultra settings 4xAA on a HD5850 it's mostly 50-60 fps but can drop to mid 20s during intense firefights. :( . Here's some screens. :)

Lens of truth did their analysis. Said it was a tie between the two console versions.

Iv been playing for a bit on my PS3 only 1 goofy thing happend. The deputy got sucked into the wall. He could still talk but it just looked dumb. So I just reloaded and it fixed ht problem.

I'd also like to add I haven't ran into a single bug, not one. Not even a corpse elasticating. Apart from the slowdowns it's ran perfect for me so far.

Game is amazing and one of the years best games.

One slowdown in the casino, other then that runnign awesome.

Also if anyone is having some stutters or slowdown, then there is a Bethesda Engine performance fix out there that fixes fps when around NPCs and stuttering when outside.

Its a fix that has been used for OBlivion and Fallout3 in the past for its engien issues. SOmeone made it for Fallout New Vegas to. Seems ot be very popular so far and fixed my cousisn stuttering he was getting near NPCs (30 FPS to 65 after the fix).

Overall thsi game pwns, barely seen any bugs in pc verison.

Taking New Vegas back to get Vanquish. Not because of the review, but because I realized as soon as I stepped outside to the world of new vegas, I realized why I couldnt play FO3 for too long, because it was so boring to me. Also, it didnt help that the first person that I tried to kill couldnt even die. Turned this glitchfest off after that.I do hope that the patch comes soon though for the fans of the game.

Well if he finds the game to be boring I doubt a patch would do much to change his opinion. He might as well trade it in now before the game stores' offering drops.

How does New Vegas confirm anything? FO3 was out first. FO3 for PC is one of the only games I can honestly give a 10.0 to.

I own a PC, 360 and Wii and I think it's nice to finally see a PC version above all others. PC always seems to get the short end. Just look at the delay for Fable 3 PC...

There are tons of games that run better on PC then consoles.. For example Team Fortress2 runs at 60-100 FPS on PC, while on ps3 and 360 it runs at 30 FPS.

Another example is Dragon Age, WAY better on PC then consoles. Left4Dead and Risen looked and played much better on PC (also scored higher) Another is the Lost Planet 2 which is much better on pc and scored higher.

It goes both ways, sometimes pc multiplats run better and look better, while sometimes the console versions run better (Saints Row2,etc..).

I really odn know how you can say PC gets short end of hte stick usually, when they gets tons of amazing mods for almost all there games.
