How disappointing was Uncharted 3 for you?

I've yet to play it so I cannot say but I can put some logic into things I believe most cows deep down knew it was a bad game which is why they reacted so badly when gears 3 was scored higher....they knew deep down in their hearts it wasn't that good of a game so they reacted so strongly as though it was a flop and reacted so strongly when lemmings called it flop...when infact lemmings were the least represented in the hype thread.

Ok so there are MAJOR SPOLIERS of Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3 in this post. I would't recomend reading it if you haven't finished both games.

I kinda agree for some things.Still loved U3 but I wasn't quite as impressed with it as I was with U2.

So yeah, there were A LOT of quetions that needed answering.More info on Drakes backstory for example.They just said hes mother committed suicide and hes dad gave him to the state at age 5.I wanted much more details on that.

Also the huge question of the game.Why drake would't quit.Every major charcter in the game asked him to stop because it was getting too dangerous.Darke was always avoding the question as there is something hes hiding and we get nothing else on that.... WHY?

Also WTF happend to Elena and Drake... they broke up... ok.EXPLAIN MORE.

There as some huge plot holes too.

So the vilans have this very strong hallucinogen that makes you got insane (they shout Charlie and later Drake with a dart) but still they go to the city to get what ? A HALLUCINOGEN. Why why why why hwy, YOU ALREADY HAVE A VERY STRONG HALLUCINOGEN!Why spend milons and go through all this trouble do get what you already have???? DOES NOT COMPUTE.

Anyway some other things I was disappointed about.Remeber the awesomeness of the helicopter and tank in U2?How cool was to blow em up eh? Best you get in U3 is a freaking car with a turret.Woohoo..

Also the city, Atlantis of the sands or whatever really reminded me of The city in U2.U2 city goes boom, U3 same deal.Couldn't they come up with something new?A city again... come on.

Ok thats it.Wow there are a lot of thing i didn't like i guess. :P Still tho, trust me, the game is great and I had a lot of fun with it.Just not as great as U2 imo.

P.S. Actually for me the villains were the best in the series.I know they are quite cliche but there was just something about them.I love the final boss fight, the guy is so tricky. :)

So far the only things I am disappointed with is there are no bonuses to unlock after beating the SP like weapon selection, infinite ammo etc. and in MP everyone has way too much health. After three hit markers to the body I should get the kill right away.

#1 is a really stupid point. Not every game has to have CoD levels of action through the whole thing.

Have you played Uncharted 2? The opening chapters to that game are amazing. They do a fantastic job of delivering a story while keeping it exciting. Because you know...this is a video game afterall. The entire beginning of U3 is incredibly slow of introducing the in game mechanics and story. In fact...I'd say U3 doesn't even pick up as an actual game until halfway through.

On a scale of Resident Evil 5 to Final Fantasy XIII, I'd give it about an Infamous 2.CasualMike

UC3 has higher Meta than Gears dude. It has more 10's and more 9's from multiple websites than Gears and beside, cows are always defensive... =/

* Some spoilers, read at your own risk...* I sort of agree with #3 but not with the rest. The pace seemed fine with me. UC2 and UC1 also started somewhat slowly (after the 1st chapter) and got crazier as you progressed through the story. And the villains aren't weak per say, their just different. [spoiler] Katherine Marlowe and Talbot are just more cerebral villains than Lazarevic, Eddie, Flynn or even Navarro. They don't seek a direct fight. They try to manipulate their opponents into submission instead. [/spoiler] Finally as for reason #3 I agree, they could have answered many more questions. [spoiler] Like who the hell is Drake anyway? Or why were Elena and Drake away from each other, and apparently seperated instead of married? And many more, I'm sure. [/spoiler] But overall, the story was still solid and I personally had loads of fun playing it. I am now in the process of beating it in Crushing, afterwards I will go straight to MP! Desmonic

I know the villans in U3 are meant to have a different impact compared to the previous games. They don't do a good job at it is what I'm saying. Part of my problem with the villans has to do with my 3rd point. They have some great build up for them, but they fail to deliver overall. Talbot seemed like he could have been this awesome and mysterious villain. The game fails to answer anything about him, so he just comes out as a flat generic character.

The more I think about this game, the more dissapointing it is to me.

What up everyone. Didn't have time to come home and post my thoughts until now. We signed NDAs, but Arne just gave me the go ahead to post some thoughts, so here they are before the hypnotism pills they gave me wore off -- First off, the guys at ND were totally awesome and seemed to be fully genuine in wanting to get a fix together as soon as possible. I sat down and played with a couple tweaked versions of the new controls, and they were definitely more in line with the MP and UC2. They seem to have fixed much of the dead zone problems, and are adjusting the sensitivity so you can go even higher than what 100% is now. They were literally making changes ON THE FLY as we played, and asking us what we thought of them. They would tweak things like sticky radius, sensitivity, etc. Also, they mentioned motion blur is definitely getting fixed for SP. Very cool. They mentioned more about a patch coming out very soon, but again, Arne has told me not to give anything more specific away. All in all, I can say that while bringing Gaffers in might be a partial PR move, it didn't feel that way at all. From everything I could gather, they were genuine. I asked if they didn't notice the difference in control themselves, like many gaffers have been wondering, and they said they literally would sit employees down and give them different versions and they would not be able to tell. If the control code was messed up at some point, I don't know, but they are not taking these criticisms lightly at all. Overall, it was super cool to see how things like this get adjusted and tweaked. Arne, thanks a ton for being so cool, and thank Justin again if you see him on Monday!

Didn't disappoint me at all. I don't have unrealistic expectations and knew it wouldn't match Uncharted 2 simply because of how overblown that game was. I personally perferred Uncharted I to Uncharted II and think Uncharted III is the best one yet. Even though some story elements were left unanswered the overall theme and relationship between Drake and Sully was well done. The combat seemed fine to me since Uncharted's gunplay has never been as tight and polished as Gears Of War. The combat was fine and the puzzles were at least slightly challenging this time. The set pieces while not as huge as Uncharted two except for maybe the ship were better for my own personal taste. The graphics are the best on consoles so far. The voice acting is as top notch as ever. AAAE title all the way which is what I expected.FlamesOfGrey

I thought the villains were fantastic in 3 and were my favorite. Marlowe was that old woman type that seemed to always have an ace up her sleeve, while Talbot was the accomplice that kept cool and was the type that you wanted to hate.

Here's the list (SMALL SPOILERS):

- Slow beginning;

- Certain sequences will be boring on second playthrough (young Drake, desert, drugged Drake);

- Hand to hand combat feels silly after playing Batman:AC;

- Too much cutscenes and sometimes the gameplay is interrupted with inconsequential and unnecessary cutscenes (just to show you something from a certain angle);

Generally I think H2H shouldn't be in. Maybe, just maybe just a punch that stuns/disarms an enemy and stealth takedowns. But full blown H2H fights while under fire just seem silly to me ...

Unchaarted and dissapointed in the same sentence? Seriously.

Honestly, it's not far beyond UC2's greatness, but it's better. Best game of all time. Now for the Zelda wait...

better than UC2. people here probably hyped UC3 through the roof. UC2 was great, but UC3 is just better. could not believe how peopel think UC2 is better than this. cliched villain, stupid puzzles, ot enough platforming/traversal sections. UC3 did all those better than UC2.

Steps for making the best game ever

Step 1: Make a promising game and hype it up really well. Put more money in advertising it and making it seem really good to dissapoint people like they can never be dissapointed any other way.

Step 2: Make a sequel with everything that people complained about in the first one improved add in extra stuff make it look pretty and people will be so surprised of the unexpected that they'll praise the game for years.

Step 3: Remaster the first game in HD or better quality, the fans from the sequel will be so hyped up that they'll improve the game they firstly disliked so much they'll go bananas over it.

Step 4: Don't make another sequel, people won't appreciated because they're expectations will be too high because of that first sequel.

I'd rather have a well developed cliche/awesome villain instead of a unique generic under developed villain.

I'd rather have stupid easy puzzles that don't break up the pace instead of very long boring puzzles

I'd rather have unique platforming sections that are exciting and really show off the environment instead of platforming sections that are just there for the hell of it.

Dunno about you but im 88% throught the campaign and so far it's fantastic. This is easily one of the greatest games this gen, and one of many fantastic games to come out this year alone.
