better than UC2. people here probably hyped UC3 through the roof. UC2 was great, but UC3 is just better. could not believe how peopel think UC2 is better than this. cliched villain, stupid puzzles, ot enough platforming/traversal sections. UC3 did all those better than UC2.

JangoWuzHere

I'd rather have a well developed cliche awesome villain, not a unique generic under developed villain.

I'd rather have stupid easy puzzles that don't break up the pace rather then very long boring puzzles

I'd rather have unique platforming sections that are exciting and really show off the environment rather then platforming sections that are just there for the hell of it.

yeah, a villain just like any other game out there. nate=good guy zoran=bad guy that's the end of it. oh wow what a boring villain. awesome? not even close. he's like "alright, imma badass. i kill you, you can't kill me. i use my minion soldiers to do things for me and if they cant' i kill them. i want to dominate ze world only!"

lol very long boring puzzles? you must suck at this game. the puzzles are there to slow down the pace, genius. and the puzzle in UC2 are what, look at journal and just copy the instructions? it makes the players feel like dumb chickens. it's for 3rd graders.

yeah, because platformnig in UC3 do not show off the environment. rrriiiight.. don't make it seem like platforming in UC3 is worse than UC2. it's much mroe exciting, and the platforms are much more dynamic. good luck climbing the same ice/snow cliff you've been climbing on for the past 2 chapters. not exciting at all.

Gamespot scores are for meta game and flops or not. You can bring up any time you want otherwise.

I will LMAO if U3 gets nominated for goty and Geow 3 doesn't OT: Haven't played the game :P

$60 is never worth it for an 8 hour game, but luckily redbox has this game already, so it only cost me $2

On a scale of Resident Evil 5 to Final Fantasy XIII, I'd give it about an Infamous 2.CasualMike
ur scale needs to be recalibrated if RE5 is at the top.

you cant believe thatthese people played uc3, they read some comments from some lowest review site and then they come in here claiming how dissapointing uc3 was, lol.

errr, some people..actually a majority who have played it can easily say how underwhelming u3 is compared to 2. Just because a bunch of reviews claim it's the 2nd coming doesn't mean..every gamer thinks so. I bet you haven't even finished the game.

It isn't disappointed for me. I love the multiplayer (competitive and co-op) and I'm currently progressing through the singleplayer (which is extremely good). I'm just taking my time, and thoroughly enjoying what very well could be my favorite game this generation.

No, RE5 is at the bottom of disappointment, IMO. A lot of people hated on it, but it still got good scores and honestly it was pretty similar to RE4. Once again, just didn't revolutionize the series like RE4 did. FFXIII is at the top of the disappointment chart because it was ****ing horrible

I guess by definition it was. The story did have some annoying plot holes, they could have tansitioned levels better, I wish it was more polished, and the pacing felt off, especially in the beggining. I still had a lot fun with it.

I feel like Uncharted 2 was better, but that's a hard thing to say. In my second playthrough, the pacing issues felt like less of a problem, mostly because the puzzles didn't drag on. I kinda wish it was more fun in the beggining. I hate to say it was too slow, but it was. The game really picked up after chapter 10...before that though, it could have been better.

haha..i wasn't going by this forum a lone..but the majority of others and people i know who complain about the overall quality of the game. The game looks and plays like it was rushed. It doesn't have the polish and some reviews mention this. I think people forget how good U2 was. I suggest you go back to it and then play u3 and see the difference. U3 IMO should have been bigger with less cheap **** to make up for what it lacked. same enemies throughout the game all in suits with little variety. constant big guys thrown at you. inconstant level of puzzles thrown in the start of the game. less high quality textures/more jags. the dull chemistry with drake...his persona in this one is about gone. he also chatted less to himself within the game. it missed a lot of what the original had, for heavy cheap combat which the game made you rely on. not to mention the glitches and weird jerky animations. How is it all of a sudden that elena and sully become like drake..fearless and so mobile, when they're the ones always complaining about drakes risks...u1 and 2 had moments where you drake needed to do the work and not have everyone else just follow you, the individual characteristics is gone. The game was just mediocre and easily rushed. IMO. and this is how many seem to feel too. Just because Uncharted did so well in U2 doesn't mean it can't fall. a lot seem to have a hard time admitting this.

The campaign was somewhat disappointing. It didn't blend naturally the transition from climax to climax, seemed a bit ADD at times. But more importantly was the lack of urgency or importance of my actions to overarching plot. It just felt like a Sully+Drake joyride where you knew they would bust the baddies but I had hoped we would have been able to spend more time in the final levels and actually be presented with a gameplay challenge.

***Spoiler Alert***

I never felt like Marlowe did much of anything in the game. I didn't hate her and was disappointed she wasn't given more of a role as the lead antagonist, plus they just wrote her out at the end when she gets swallowed up in the quicksand. Talbot sort of assumed the role of main villain (I did want to rip the nards off that SOB) but his demise was basically a quick-time boss fight at the end which left me disgruntled.

***End Spoiler***

All in all, I enjoyed UC3's campaign but it definitely could have done more. And WTF was Marlowe talking about when Cutter jumped off the tower and she said, "As if it were in the cards all along" and he had The Tower tarot card in his jacket? Where in the hell did that tie-in to the plot? Seemed like ND put it in but had to cut out its role in the story because they didn't have enough time or resources to pan it out.

All in all, 9/10. It was visually stunning and some of the encounters and battle sequences were definitely top-notch. The highlight of the game for was without a doubt the boat graveyard and cruise ship sequence. Visually it was unreal.

Yeah. I redbox'd Dark Souls at first because I wanted to get a feel for it and see if it felt like Demon's Souls (which I loved) . Had to return it after 3 days because I was addicted and didn't want to rack up a huge charge with them. I knew this would take 2 days at most, and it did. Got to get that out of my system.

It was just a line eluding to the fact that they have so much power. To the point that they can manipulate all of what they did to their goals and get what they want, then add insult to injury with the card. At least thats how I took it. It seemed like it was trying to be clever. Nothing needed for the plot, since they talk about what it eluded to other times. ***End Potential Spoilers***

I've yet to play it so I cannot say but I can put some logic into things I believe most cows deep down knew it was a bad game which is why they reacted so badly when gears 3 was scored higher....they knew deep down in their hearts it wasn't that good of a game so they reacted so strongly as though it was a flop and reacted so strongly when lemmings called it flop...when infact lemmings were the least represented in the hype thread.

KevinButlerVP

Get real dude, a bad game? It has a better MC level than Gears 3. I guess Gears is HORRIBLE!

I don't comprehend that because I am oblivious to the world around me :3 only GS is what I know

Best campaign i've ever played, cannot fault much at all although the start was pretty boring but the plus is it gave me time to practice my controls. Just got to the airport part after the cruiseliner sank and cannot stop thinking about it, it's too epic for words to describe i just want more.

i think you may be taking your campaign of attempting to put the ps3 in a better light on the internet a little too seriously. :)

People have been pretty clear on why they think UC2 is better. Honestly, they seem to make a better case than the people who think UC3 is better. UC3 seems to easily have more problems.

I found it to be a worthy successor, not a disappointment in the least. Uncharted 3 had a better melee system, weapons, enemy diversity, graphics, music, puzzles, more epic levels, more game content, and an arguably better story. Plenty of improvements over my favorite game of the past decade, i'm a pretty damn happy camper

i played the demo. felt a lot like uncharted 2. it wasn't really anything spectacular for me: the enemies still feel like they're made out of cardboard, and the explosions and destruction sequences feel contrived and scripted to the point of annoyance. this is a michael bay movie in video game form more than anything else

No fun cheats like 2 had

aiming is really bad

even shorter than 2

its so easy, i was playing on very hard and just running around punching people like Goku

Alright, I thought I was the only one who thought aiming was a little off :P (wasn't sure it was the game, or because I've been spending months using the mouse so I needed to get used to a controller again). Still, I had a blast with the game...I mean, I sat through the entire campaign in a single day, and I ususally never do that unless the game has me hooked.

Well. Not really that disappointed. Game is definitely one of the best from this year. Anyone expecting the second coming will be disappointed but overall, I am very much fond of the game.

Also, I don't agree with the first 2 points, at all. Maybe that's just me though. :D

I think what has really been disappointing is that there is a lack of polish compared to the second game. Yeah, it's still great and all, but I am telling you, give this another couple of months and it would be a 10/10 for me. But for now, due to the occasional hiccups, 9-9.5 seems fair. That's without even touching the MP yet :P

How the starting was presented was different. As it should have been. Game play wise it was, similar. I found myself liking the opening for Uncharted 3 more than 2, but some people disagree. :?

I red box'd it too, beat it in 7 hours (single day). Can't believe that game is 60$ O-o. Wasn't as good as UC2 (which I bought for 60$) so....I see no real reason to go to it. UC2 has better MP too D:. It's mostly the gameplay that feels off, the pacing wasn't bad. And I liked that it was more of an interactive movie (loved MGSIV also). Some HARDCORE GAYMERZ aren't going to like the pacing, I can definitely sense that.

I'd say it's in the lower AA range of games.....not really high AAA like UC2 was. So I find it funny UC3 has a 93 on MC, I think if it immediately followed UC1 it wouldn't be praised as much. Hype for the win...

Uncharted 3 is a great game.. It's not an amazing game by any means, but it's still a great game. It had unfathomable hype to live up to and in my opinion it met it but the game falls short on a few key points .....

Biggest Problems;

The ending. Seriously, way too leave me with more questions then I started with.

Too short. Anyone else feel like it wasn't as long as Uncharted 2?

Environments weren't polished. I cannot tell you how many times I tried jumping, climbing, or going to an edge that simply didn't exist.

Nathan's movements seem extremely sloppy. Sluggish animations at times, lack-luster cover system, Nathan will "touch" a wall and do a complete 180.

To a much lesser extent; It's not done in 1080p. Seriously, even Gears of War 2 (yes, TWO) was done in 1080p.

Competitive Multiplayer still sucks...

---

Other than that? Yeah, great game, it's not GOTY by any means but it's definitely the best game that the PS3 has offered us this year. It's definitely worth every bit of the 9 it was given on this website.

I agree with this, it's a great game just not AMAAAAZING like everyone was expecting. Which is fine, was a satisfactory experience.

Oh yes. It's a great game and it is worthy of being the numeric sequel to Uncharted 2! The game just falls short on a few key points that keep it from being better than Uncharted 2! But anyone going into Uncharted 3 thinking it would top Uncharted 2 went into 3 for all the wrong reasons and were just asking to be disappointed. You don't go into the sequel to one of the greatest games published this gen. and not be disappointed.
