The more I read your posts the more I think you're just out to annoy people

yeah they did those things to add to the mystery of the villains. that's what they intended to do, not give you a spoonfed story.
and yes, they answered those questions because people like you are not satisfied and want every answer to every question there is, because you think it's not fit for Uncharted even though the writers of the game seem to think otherwise.
so, you got your answers: the bulletproof vest and escape line. are you happy now? was it really much better if Talbot opened his coat to reveal a bulletproof vest, or if the camera panned to show his escaping through an escape line when Drake followed him? come on. he just disappeared, he just survived. must it be spoonfed?
why didn't anyone question Drake and Sully when they got shot at and survived, even with blood effects? but when Talbot gets shot and survives, suddenly it's a plothole. brilliant.
i, for one, am happy that the writer kept the mystery of the secret society the way it is. maybe they had powers, maybe they didn't. at the end of the day, it did not matter at all. i mean, if they did have magic, why would they even use guns and hire henchmen? come on.
yes, they were using hallucinogenic agents to control people. it was stated in the story, heck it was even so obvious when Talbot drugged Charlie, and when Marlowe said that Nate told them that Sully knows everything because Nate was drugged.
