"Even the dialogue leaves little room for subtlety as every last detail is laid out (and repeated) in terms a four-year old could understand. The motivations run as deep as Shu's, "I won't give up!" He really won't give up. Why? Because he won't, that's why. The character development is equally weak. At the end of the game, you feel like you truly know the main characters, but that's only because it's painfully obvious that there isn't much there."
Oh well :/
Nevermind.
After reading IGN's review, it seems like this game will not be what it was thought to be. I think people were saying that the demo wasn't that good either. The review says that the first 10-15 hours of the first disc are meh. I wonder if people are still going to pick it up.
I love the setting and art of the game, but the battle system and pacing don't do it for me. After the demo, I decided not to get it :(. I guess Persona 3 will be the JRPG I play this year.
The Good: A new game to play...
The bad: It sucks.
Wow :) Nah, just kidding, not my style of rpg though.

my crystal ball certainly worked heh
Seriously the more and more i saw of this game i knew it'd turn out like that. Anime's can be mind-blowingly good like Akira, ergo proxy, ghost in the sell, and then there's the generic crud that's saturated that whole area of storytelling.
You just have to LOOK at the characters and their antagonists to get where it's going. When i saw the trailer for the anime, and saw more trailers for the game when they spoke inenglishall hope was lost.

I'll be playing the $h!+ out of Warhawk later this month :D! Right now I'm playing Super Stardust, Resistance, NG: Sigma and some PS2 games :P.
In defence if Blue Dragon, I'll say that alot of 7+ JRPG games are really good and should really be tried out for yourself to see it's good or not, it could end up being your favorite game of all time.
Example:
Odin Sphere = 7.6
Radiata Stories = 7.7 (no frecking kidding that's the best RPG i've played since Grandia II on DC. And speaking of Grandia II...)
Grandia II= 7.9 (This is regarded by games all around as one of the greatest RPGs ever made...GS gave it 7.9)
every single one of these games are exceptional but somehow the moron who reveiwed these seemed to find them only to be average. Anyway I'm not saying BD is a great game or otherwise, I'm just saying I'd use my own judgement in deciding the quality ofsomething asdelicate as the quality of an RPG.
EDIT:
I'm not even an xbox fan nordo I have any anticipation forthis game, I'm just spaking as a gamer to other gamers who might end up liking this game.

Alright...Act like you never ever played an xbox live arcade game...
cows aint gonna let lemmings live this one down.elite_ferns1
I think the "cows" have plenty of their own overhyping to live down... but yes as a proud 360 owner, I was hoping for a little more out of this one... The review said it best... JRPG's are uncharted territory for XBOX owners so I'm still intrigued... It's been a long time since I played chrono trigger last...

While very true, you have to remember that this is IGN is much more open arms with JRPG's. Sure they still get under-rated but not heavlily.
Generally i'd expect a 7 from Gamespot if this was the score on ign
but it's gamespot and a 360 game so it'll be 8.5 at least
Won't make lemmings happy.Nintendo_Man
They'll just claim they didn't hype it, regardless of the fact that they did.
