SNES and Sega Dreamcast aren't in the top 3 with the PS2 -- therefore, this list is pretty damn lame.

i wouldnt put the 360 in the top ten. i think the 360's massive failure rate (by far the highest of any of the consoles on the list) should take it down quite a few notches. hardware reliability is an important factor.

I can sorta see why the 360 is on that list, but I don't get why the N64 is there.

I think the SNES did more for gaming than the NES, but overall I agree with the list with some exceptions.

N64 shouldn't be on there, and Atari 2600 should be lower.

SNES, PS2, PS1, NES, 360/PS3, Atari 2600, Genesis, Dreamcast, Wii, something else would be the list I'd go with.

Depending on how much impact weighs in I can of course see the Atari 2600 where it is, but personally it is simply a little too archaic to be enjoyable in my opinion, thus it would probably not be on my list at all.

I actually prefer the PS1 at #1 owing to the unbelievable number of great new IP's it spawned that remain with us to this day.

The NES is a very important system with a lot of amazing games that remain amazing to this day, but it also has a lot of really bad games and not as many great games as some of the other systems on the list, so I'd drop it a few spots below the PS1, PS2, and SNES.

The 360 and PS3 have surpassed the Genesis for me and are inching on the SNES and NES.

I like the Sega Saturn (with its Japanese library included) better than the N64 or the Dreamcast.

I like the Gamecube and original X-Box better than the N64 or the Dreamcast.

So mine would be...

Ps3 deffo should feature in the Top 10.

That's why I don't believe the 360 should be so high on that list ... It started off with a bang, but since late 08, early 09 it's line up has been pretty stagnant.

And that list is making a major discussion, because it is coming from the biggest gaming publication (alongside GS), which is IGN. If this was Eurogamer or Edge or GameTrailers or videogame.pl I wouldn't care.Mozelleple112

It's a pretty good list, though i think the 10th spot should have ben given to the PS3 instead of the Wii, and i like the fact that they gave the Genesis just a spot lower than the SNES (i vastly prefer the library on the Genesis than on the SNES anyway)

Considering there's what 10 million more 360s out there than the PS3 in the US that shouldn't come off as a surpise to anyone.Now do 360/PS3 owners choose 360 as their primary console more often? We'll never know, it's one of those impossible questions to answer.

How can you say "Throughout the entire generation 360 has been the best console" than turn around and say "in the last 1 or 2 years people can argue otherwise" ... Let's be serious, it's not arguable that the 360 has been getting out performed the last two years, and next year looks no different.

If Live is a big factor, than what exactly is it doing that puts it so far ahead of PSN that it makes it not only a "All-time console" list but placed as high as 6th?
