This had better be the best game ever released. Really. I will consider it a flop compared to it's hype if it gets anything less than a perfect 10whoisryanmack
Isn't that being a little harsh? Half-Life 2 is one of the best games ever made and got 9.2

I don't know. Since we only have 9.0, 9.5, and 10 anymore....I don't see what else I could demand from it. A 9.5 would be extremely good, but would still put it in the company of other games who haven't gotten nearly the hype of Crysis. Not even almost nearly.
We can be sure graphics will be a 10, but this gameplay better pull through amazingly, more than amazingly.
I really hope that Monday announcement is a beta...
Crysis is one of my most anticipated games of 2007, simply because it's being made by Crytek. The outdoor gameplay in Far Cry was outstanding, but the indoor combat was a little weak. The developers have gone on record to say that they have fixed this, and because of this, I'm positive that Crysis will be a spectacular game.
Such lovely jungles.
when i get this game i will spend a lot of the roaming the jungles and enjoying the beauty and then after that will spend time on fully destroying the jungle :)

But first, youmust freeze everything.

I'm still mad at GS for changing the review system at such an important time with all these wonderful games coming.
I mean....GS's 9 is the least score Bioshock got at metacritic the last time I checked. I wonder how much it would've got in the old review system.
Why is it I am not interested in this game, hmm.. oh well.ArisShadows

I dunno, its just doesn't grab me for some reason.
With threads like these guys, please don't go around saying "Oh, we like Crysis for more than just graphics".
It takes another game and its features for Crysis' features to be talked about in that department. Unprovoked, it's all about how pretty it looks.
Nevertheless, it does look pretty. Just doesn't make my jaw drop. Nothing will ever do that to me if it's just technical greatness, I'm afraid.

Because it's striving for ultra realism. It doesn't go for a distinctive art style.

The ICE world is quite unique in Art style, as in inside the alien craft (ive seen the Zero G gameplay video).Hell the collectors edtion has an art book bundled with it.

I like the art stlye of Crysis.....First a beautiful paradise island, then a beautiful frozen tropical island, and then a alien spaceship. What else can you ask for.
And Realism and Distinctive Art style aren't mutually exclusive.
this game looks awesome but will it be awesome to play thats another story.
could endup being another pretty game with no gameplay

They aren't but it seems like Crytek forgot about artistic beauty whilst making the game.
skrat, the Iceworld with blizzards etc are nice looking and all, but it actually looks like the real deal. It's not stylized in any sense. BUt yeah it looks nice.

I've seen it. It's whack alright. Kinda reminds me of the Alien movies.
Which reminds me, I have to see the AvP 2 trailer

Maybe I been watching too much Sci-Fi movies, tropics, ice and alien ship seems like the general things I see.
Crysis looks great. And if it's just technically, it's very good at it. That's it's purpose. If I want a great artistic style I'd look somewhere else.tegovoltio
It's just the problem is ultra realism fades after awhile.
Remember how we thought Gran Turismo had the best, most ultra real graphics ever?
Yet Metal Gear Solid still holds its own on the PS1 because it's somewhat stylized

Yeah same here.
I mean, frozen tropical islands may not be generic, but tropical islands gone bad certainly is.

Don't tell me that that's not artististically distinct.
I didn't like AVP 1 too much:(. Hope AVP:Requiem will be better;)

Agreed. But AvP 2 is not being butchered by fanboy Paul W.S Anderson.

Wait...Now games are generic because they have been done in movies before?
I've always disliked how games are suppose to be separated from movies in terms of story. Films don't get the same treatment from age old poem and prose.
I mean, just because the gaming industry is in its teen years doesn't mean it's okay to have a story where the knight in shining armour saves the princess, or have some ultra-cliche medieval european fantasy setting (look at Oblivion).
BTW AVP 2 TRAILER ROCKS EVERYONE GO WATCH IT!
