Well no one needs any sort of gaming platform whatsoever.... However whether you want a 360 or not, would be based on a number of factors... do you have a gaming PC? If so do you prefer playing in front of your PC or your TV? How much do you like HALO/Gears of War/Forza etc. How many friends do you have that also have a 360? Do you want to be able to play/have access to all the great games on XBLA (many are multiplat as well, but there are alot of great exclusives there too... and the ones that are multiplat don't come with leaderboards etc. in most cases)

There are plenty of reasons to own a 360..... not so many reasons to own a PS3 currently.

PS. b4 you start listing games coming over the next 2-3 years or games that havent even been announced yet.... please re-read and notice that I explicitly said "CURRENTLY"

Anyway, I think in essence, the general jist of that other thread was that the 360/PC games are an addition to the 360 game library when compared to the PS3. So in any discussion of 360 game library Vs that of the PS3, such games are relevant. I agree there is no such thing as console exclusive, but when can compare respective game libraries right?

Oh, now I see how this whole thing started. Well, the only thing I can think of that could at least try to resolve it would be to come up with a new term

that would be used specifically to define console games with PC counterparts. Like "Multi-Platform exclusive" or something.(I know the name is an oxymoron).

At least then there could SOME kind of way to end the argument.

Well, the thing with that is, with a PS3/PC combo, you would get all the PS3 exclusives available as well as a majority of the 360's games via PC. But if you had

a 360/PC combo you'd only really get(as far as variety in choice of games) would be the PC exclusives.

Why would PC owners want to be compared to a console? Console users cannot upgrade hardware and have shown that they probably do not want to otherwise they would be PC gamers. The elitist attitude of PC gamers instantly is negated by their wanting of acceptance from console users. I am sure there are real PC gamers on a PC gaming website it just seems we are stuck with the bottom of the barrel PC gamers here in System Wars.

After mulling over my last post I began to think of a PC/PS3 combo, somewhat the same as a PS360 combo, only there are more games to be had on PC than

the 360. And to the guy above me who was talking about using the 2 most expensive against the least expensive. The way I see it, you're not really

comparing the PS3 AND the PC against the 360 moreso than you are comparing the PC to the 360, since they share some of the same games.

Like I said last week; I'm fine with games like MEffect, L4D, SC Conviction, etc not being counted in the X360's library in X360 vs PS3 debates. We just need to start adding in the cost of a gaming PC to the PS3's costs.

If you are comparing 360 game line-up to PS3 line-up, it shouldnt matter if it can be played on PC, as long as it cant be played on PS3. Maybe thats to rational for SW though.

Anyway remember when Phil Harrison said at E3 05 or 06 "The PS3 is a computer, so there is no need for a PC anymore":lol: Obviously there is.
