It looked terrible anyways.

Awful review, anyway. Score's about what I predicted, anyway. And it was the console version, which is apparently boxed s***. According to the review, the game is fun, but the humor is
"too childish and immature." HARRUMPH.
IGN complaining about something being childish and immature.

I wonder if any review is actually gonna bother playing the game instead of ranting how someone who isn't a sci-fi warrior or modern military person is so out of place in this day and age (When in fact they aren't.) I also like how every review tries to belittle the game for having the attitude of a 12 year old. Would you rather have some 20-year old college guy who has 4 popped collars and can't get laid without alcohol, or some 40 year old thats lost all sense of humor and its super-depressed with life? Hey, anything is better than trying to be humorous like Cracked.com tries to be.
Honestly, I don't see how this is funny. I'm not a fan of Duke, I'm not offended, I just honestly do not see how this is funny. No one was hyping this, no one was expecting this to be great, no one got owned here.vashkeyIt is rather unfortunate. I like the 90s Duke games, but wow, this 5.5 review was a big surprise. Thats probably why the TC has "lol" in his topic, it even kind of made me laugh.
That first part about Halo, seems like the reviewer took halo bashing personally.Awful review, anyway. Apparently, the game is fun, but the humor is "too childish and immature."

At least DNF knows what it wants to be, and does it well, humor wise. But, no. FPS ARE SERIOUS BUSINESS. NO FUN ALLOWED. Also, see my edit.I don't care what it scores anywhere, I'm getting it and will thoroughly enjoy it. Heil68
Yep. I have a feeling this game is gonna be another Nier/Sniper Ghost Warrior. Is it perfect? No, but its a hell of a lot more fun than other games released that year.

Only thing I don't like is the weapon limit and regenerating health. If there are mod tools or someone releases some, I'll find out how to fix that myself and add health packs to the game. (Just gimme 2 years to figure all that out :P )

I'm sure the Duke community will fix it within a month. There's a lot of talented modders there.[QUOTE="ChubbyGuy40"][QUOTE="DarkLink77"] At least DNF knows what it wants to be, and does it well, humor wise. But, no. FPS ARE SERIOUS BUSINESS. NO FUN ALLOWED. Also, see my edit.DarkLink77

I'm sure the Duke community will fix it within a month. There's a lot of talented modders there. As much as I hate to say this the way the game is put together doesn't really seem right for a full arsenal of weapons. As is stands the game is an unholy mix of old school and modern shooters, some aspects of both just have to be thrown out.
I'm honestly not surprised it scored that way judging from the way the gameplay looked, but the reviewer seemed incredibly condescending and pretentious. I literally felt like I was reading an Armond White review :|.
Also, I agree with the irony in IGN bashing immaturity. At times, it's literally one of the biggest "bro" gaming sources next to X-play and Spike.

I thought he was just pointing out the irony that the game uses shooter conventions that Halo started yet it appears to try to make fun of Halo.
However, I think he got the idea of the whole scene wrong. Duke wasn't making fun of Halo's gameplay... He was just saying power armor is for **** :P

We'll see. I can't wait to see what the Duke Nukem community does with it, though. You know this game is gonna be modded to hell and back.Just waiting for that guy to review Modern Warfare 3 and talk about how unique, and mature, and philosophical it is.I'm honestly not surprised it scored that way judging from the way the gameplay looked, but the reviewer seemed incredibly condescending and pretentious. Don't forget how it revolutionizes the genre, has better than Bf3 graphics, and how CoD Elite is a must for any FPS and is totally worth paying for.
EDIT: Oh ya, its hyper-realisitic.
A friend of mine recently sent me the TotalBiscuit review--I generally ignore these, but I saw almost all of the Duke Nukem footage here.
I have to say that I somewhat agree with some of what he said. The game really didn't seem that interesting to me:
For anyone who's interested.
He made the review of the demo before it. I still have to try that myself--I'm going to at least try it before I make my decision.

You have a point. COD are some of the most shallow games out there. I think he didnt like the game, but then he found it insulting that the story didnt make up for it. He really seemed pissed off about the gameplay. I hope it isnt as outdated as he says it is.

I can see it now:
"Modern Warfare 3 is a riveting and heartbreaking adventure. Seeing a cracked piece of concrete in New York really makes you feel like you are fighting for something you believe in. Also, there's this sweet motorcyle dragon shooting scene and killstreaks that go up to 100! BRO FIST!"
