LOL Duke Nuken 5.5 @ IGN, 3/10 Eurogamer!

I feel it is a fun old school style game with great shooting, good multiplayer, funny humour albeit with a couple of "next-gen" features like two weapons limit and regenerating health tacked on. Graphics are pretty aged but Duke Nukem 3D wasn't remembered for its graphics.

That said I'd give it an 8, as it did get the fun part down rather well. I take IGN with a grain of salt, that site gave a 10 to Modern Warfare 2's graphics.

I just Fully Pre-Ordered my Copy, along with Ocarina of Time.

Props to you DarkLink77 for not letting others opinions or reviews deter you away from a game you're excited for. I'm definitely still interested in this game, but by the sounds of it I'm going to have to wait until I get a PC built. The 360 sounds like a pile of trash, but I've heard the PC version is decent. Despite the reviews it's been 12 or so years since I've had my last fill of the Duke himself. I need one last go at one of his games to allow me to rest in pieces :DDr_Snood

How's the multiplayer? I haven't got around to trying it yet but I heard it was disappointing, especially compared to DN3D's faster paced Dukematch mode.

Honestly, did ANYONE expect this game to be good? Cmon...I loved Duke back in the day but he sat and sat for years and then they show up with this MESS OF A GAME.

Don't think they went for quality as this franchise was never gonna sell big anyways. All they wanted was to make a passable game so they could milk old school pc gamers. Based on some of the naive posts in this thread, I say they succeeded.Sushiglutton

I'm enjoying the game. It is pretty much what I expected. Duke is Duke and shooting is fun. Two weapon limit is a little disapointing. I think they should review the PC version. I've it maxed and haven't encountered any technical problems. Also, what I looked from Metacritic, the PC version is getting higher scores 7s and 8s, which is something I would give too.

Duke nukem forever is brilliant IGN just wants to go with the cod crowd, how bout they get the cheats going so they can have alot more fun with Duke

That reviewer seems very butthurt about that Halo joke. And I didn't really expect anything else, only Duke fans can turn back the time machine and enjoy the game.

The ending was extraordinarily bad and the campaign was short. I remember reading it was around 15 hours long, I clocked barely half that on medium difficulty. I got this for $35 so I'm not too annoyed, I just hope the multiplayer lives up to DN3D.

seriously there are some good points but what did you expect from duke :S i wasnt expecting much more depth than 3d tbh and if its as laugh out loud and generally just funny then duke has done well and served his purpose.Unless there are some gamekilling bugs that dont bode well.
