Mario Galaxy vs Sonic Unleashed

Sorry, Sonicthemegaman. Sonic used to be one of y favorite franchises and I always hope with every new game that it will be good. But to me that last sonic game I had fun with was sonic and knuckles (or was it sonic CD...I can't recall which came first).

I really can't stand the 3D ones (not even adventure) and I hate the direction games like rush, rush 2 and unleashed have taken the series. Even the wii ones (while promising) were awful.

I'm sorry sonic the megaman, but I too am a Sonic fan but after Sonic Adventure 2... I was done with the console 3D sonics.... he just doesn't translate well into 3D, because of his speed.... I keep saying this to my friends but Sega needs to make Sonic The Hedgehog 4, the way Capcom made one of my favorite games of all time: Mega Man 9. Even nintendo did it with New Super Mario Brothers and the sequel: New Super Mario Bros Wii...

Sega messed up BAD by adding all these kiddy extra characters in the Adventure series. Sonic is about attitude, I don't want to see him collecting fake pokemon. Have him fight Robotnik(yeah I said Robotnik not Eggman) in different zones with catchy upbeat memorable soundtracks that capture the feel of the levels. Tails and Knuckles can be co-stars but should only be around for cut scenes or have their own seperate story. Shadow the Hedgehog was good NEW anti-Sonic character, but Metal Sonic was more subtle and much cooler.

The Sonic series needs something to save it fast... and Sonic The Hedgehog 4 would be perfect... make it HD sprites like Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix or maybe something like BlazBlue sprites.... stop being lazy Sonic Team, the DS games are fantastic, just need some updated graphics for the big consoles and you'll have sonic back to his former glory.

But at the end of the day, i'm sorry to say this... Sonic, like Bowser & Donkey Kong, has become one of Mario's beer buddies... now they have olympic games together and fight in Smash Brothers.... 15 years ago when I was 9 years old we would beat people up with the stray thought of Sonic being in Mario game let alone on the same console...

Sonic Unleashed doesn't even compare to Mario Galaxy. Gravity wasn't a gimmick in Super Mario Galaxy it kept the same basic Mario gameplay but the werehog was in Sonic Unleashed. It was repetitive,boring and tiring.

Sonic Unleashed doesn't even compare to Mario Galaxy. Gravity wasn't a gimmick in Super Mario Galaxy it kept the same basic Mario gameplay but the werehog was in Sonic Unleashed. It was repetitive,boring and tiring.

You know how many fakeboys say they used to "love" Sonic? That really isnt a credible statement especially when its so subjective. Excuse me for liking SPM more than Galaxy but that game actually did something new and had a great story. Galaxy spammed gravity gimmicks and lacked a real story. Really though, its all opnion and the way i see it, since i played Unleashed, it has its own share of merits. a 0 IS exaggerating it. Unleashed is a sign of better sonic games to come. its not garbage like people say. just another reason why i avoid hyped up games -_-sonicthemegaman

- mario games may, i some instances, lack a real story

sonic is an awful franchise and sonic team is, for the resources and built-in fanbase they recieve, the worst developer in gaming

This thread still going lol. Sorry but Sonic has become irrelevant in the last couple of years. SMG is one of my favorite games this decade alone. Maybe Sega should bring back Yuji Naka, Naoto Oshima and Hirokazu Yashhara to make Sonic amazing again.

Unleashed was not terrible but it easily loses to SMG.

Why is this even a thread?

Sonic Unleashed isn't a bad game its average whereas Super Mario Galaxy is a masterpiece. It's okay putting something in the game that makes it a good experience but the werehog doesn't you just wish the level would finish and they are to long.

From someone who has actully played both games in this thread...
