By now, you may have heard about the "Major RE5 Reveal at E3″ that Videogaming247 is reporting.

Some more information has made its way to PlayStationLife****net…

Whether or not this information is true is unknown. However we felt it is our duty to give fans a heads up on a HUGE announcement that MAY be coming @ E3.

Please take this as a rumor as that's all it is at this point. No solid information on the subject yet.

From what I have been told, Microsoft is looking to pay Capcom an undisclosed amount, for timed exclusivity of Resident Evil 5. It is still not known if Capcom has accepted the offer… The information we got, was only that Microsoft has made the offer.

If this is going to be announced it will be @ E3. Similar to the GTAIV "showing of the tattoo" a couple of years ago.

It this is true, all of you petition fanatics out there better get to work.

Remember this is just a rumor, and nothing is known for sure at this time.

Personally I am hoping that this is NOT true.

Scoring exclusive JRPG's and now in theory locking down Biohazard 5 as a timed exclusive,

It seems that MS is really trying to go to the hoop in Japan.

I hope not. If M$ can't get developers to come on board on there own then they need to change things in the company itself instead of trying to buy there way into game studios.

I doubt it. Capcom is too big of a company to play by childish rules like that. It could potentially damage the sales of millions of copies of RE 5.

It almost free cash. Make it come to the 360 one month before the PS3 and we will give 20 million.

I would rather they spend that money on more games. But I can understand why they would at least try.

Childish rules?

They did the same thing when they gave Nintendo Gamecube and its (at the time) 17 million userbase Resident Evil 4 nearly nine months before it was given to PS3 and its (at the time) 100 million userbase.

Why would they not be incline to score some scratch on the side and do the same thing this gen?

Why? Its a great business plan, throw a few million someones way and then get a hell of return in for that investment. I don't see anything wrong with it, though it stinks if you have a ps3, but hey business is business.

EDIT: I also don't know why people get all up in arms about this kind of stuff. I mean do you think all these developers, MS, Sony and Nintendo are sitting here thinking about Fanboys? You have to be kidding me, they are here to make money and grab hold as much of the market as they can. Thats the whole point, this isn't like a big loyalty thing where Capcom is sitting there saying "We don't want to hurt Sony or their fanboys feelings if we do this." No they are sitting there saying "MS wants to pony up 10-20 mil for 6 months of exclusitivity. Where do we sign?" Business guys thats what it is.

If true, this is one more reason for a lot of people to hate MS. I could understand them paying for exclusive extra content, but paying to have the game time exclusive is a crime for a lot of PS3 owners only that are so eagerly waiting for this game, myself included.

Actually, it's pretty childish to think that there is anything wrong with what they are doing. It's a good thing that MS is going to the mat to secure games for their platform.

It's what they are supposed to do.

Do not be upset that Sony does not have close to the amount of money MS has so they can not do the same. Even Sony just said they will have to start buying exclusives in a interview recently. They just will never have the cash MS does.

and this is why i hate m$ i know its all business moves to try and stiff out the competition but im still not fond of it, i think this would end up hurting the sales of re5 over all, because people would think its just a straight exclusive to the 360 which would pretty much kill any chance of the ps3 version having high sales

Isn't that the truth... Some people amaze me.

Anyways, it would be a hilarious day if MS could secure this as a timed exclusive. I could just imagine the cow riots with pitchforks in hand. As if Capcom didn't get enough crap when they took the DMC franchise to Xbox 360...

Sony will not allow this... unless MS throw in big one$, Capcom know this as well that PS3 is bigger userbase in Japan... but 360 is bigger userbase NA... if this is true, RE5 sales will decline Japan for the time being. Unless Capcom scratch the title and make it for the Wii-- and it a win-win for everybody :P

Me three!

I'm very glad as a 360 owner that MS is going out of their way to make special games have bonus features or delay the competitors version, because it goes to show that ms is really in it to make their console stand out as opposed to being second or last place. I personally have been very happy with te 360 sinc ei bought it last year (an dyes i was an MS hater before that) and i would never turn back to sony now.

Also i have a wii, it has lots of games, but its just not very fun anymore.

Why is everyone freaking out? It's buisness people, that's all it is.

If MS can pay Capcom enough $$$ to keep RE5 off PS3 for a few months, then that's a great decision for them, especially considering how weak they are in Japan right now.

And really, if this goes down and Sony doesn't do anything to stop it, then that's their problem.

Since the difference in multiplats is often very small, I would take the earlier version than the slightly imroved but massively delayed version.

lol why would you care? last i checked you dont own an 360 any more, as for that last i checked we had no conclusive proof that sony had not ever paid for an exclusive or timed but we do have alot of prove for it, namely some inane games staying exclusive or timed exclusive for no reason at all the company would have made more money on both systems then just one, but seemingly they stayed timed or exclusive.

and lets not forget about when they we're first GETING into the console buisness its not like they just appeared and every dev and their brother signed up, alot of cash and inventives we're passed around for the ps1 to get so many devs out from the king that was nintendo.

Ah, good old Microsoft. Their company ideals of "why develop or create something when you can pay someone else that has already done the legwork" is just inspiring to behold. The way they throw money around and slander their opponents is truly American, and makes me want to collect unemployment while I sit on my ass.

Has Microsoft or anyone under the employ of Microsoft ever actually had an original thought? This buying exclusives thing is really getting ridiculous.

Seriously though if this is true I will be too livid for words.

They are still not in a position of power when it comes to Capcom. Capcom is not a part of Sony. If MS offers them some coin for a timed game then it is a win for Capcom as much as MS. RE5 could flop huge but they got that money at least from MS and MS will get all the early buyers. So for Capcom it is free money and the game will still go to PS3 at a later date.

Capcom will not lose sales because more people will just buy the 360 version unless it is a flopped game and in that case like i said Capcom still gets that money.

This is a good point. It does of course make sense to have a timed exclusive on an anticipated game, but will it really do that much good to MS?

If they were going for the Japanese sales, well there isnt a whole lot there that would suggest the 360 is ever going to sell a reasonable number. Big JRPGs fail to hold in the software charts, and Ninja Gaiden II has yet to break 40,000 sales. This seems a big fruitless.

As far as the rest of the world goes, it will depend on the duration of the exclusivity. Are we talking Bioshock/UT3 length? Or is it more like Orange box? I think if its the latter, its going to do virtually nothing to what the sales would have been on a simultaneous release.

Has Microsoft or anyone under the employ of Microsoft ever actually had an original thought? This buying exclusives thing is really getting ridiculous.

Seriously though if this is true I will be too livid for words.

Microsoft: Step to the plate and get one of your multimillionaire-salaried employees to use his overeducated brain to develop an ORIGINAL IP. BRAWN > BRAIN, you go MS!

[QUOTE="lusitanogamer"]If true, this is one more reason for a lot of people to hate MS. I could understand them paying for exclusive extra content, but paying to have the game time exclusive is a crime for a lot of PS3 owners only that are so eagerlywaiting for this game.Eltroz
 All i saw was bovine tears in that. Tough luck for you if you do not own a 360. MS has been spending money to make sure they have a great game libary. Do not be upset that Sony does not have close to the amount of money MS has so they can not do the same. Even Sony just said they will have to start buying exclusives in a interview recently. They just will never have the cash MS does.

Sony has alot more money then microsoft. Sony is everything camaras tvs bluray ps3 recording companies they make movies overall there a bigger company then microsoft they just dont spend their money on ps3 exclusives

must be nice to have M$ moneystereointegrity
Heck yes it would be. To give a example how much they have

Market value for MS is $266 billion

Sony market value is $49 billion

So MS is worth more then 5 times what Sony is.
