After the cool impression the 1st movie gave me, I decided to go and watch the 2nd... took a girl out on a date to watch it. Needless to say, I never got to 2nd base with her after that :(

This hands down is the best theme ever to a fighting game. MK may not be as popular but it has the best tune. I would have never believed MK was going to be present in EVO and other fighting tournaments but looks like MK9 is going to be a very competitive fighter which is a first for the series. Within th next 5 years I am certain there will be an MK vs SF, that will actually make sense not Tekken vs SF, that's just silly.

*sigh*, what happened to unlockable costumes and such? I hope this game has a good few unlockables :). Also I am curious how the story mode is. If its like Soul Calibur II (text and fighting), or just a difficulty pyramid, or if its a 3D action game or what. I thought they said that it would be a fleshed out story mode and all, but who knows. I dont care too much, but if they had a great one it would be awesome. I would prefer a story mode like Soul Calibur II, but with more complexity and scenes or something.

As for Tekken vs. SF, it could work - but I'm not getting it. I'm done with Street Fighter, SSFIV is my last one.

MK vs DC was a fail, but given that this title has a team battle with a tag system, a "MK vs. DC II" could actually be pretty good. What was bad about the original was lack of characters(my favorite Aquaman being excluded was the #1 reason why I didn't buy it) and horrible T for Teen rating.

If NetherRealm Studios does decide to do a sequel they should try to get the OK from Warner Bros to do it with an M-rating. The MK9 engine would be perfect given that the devs are building it up to be tournament worthy.

I loved the first Mortal Kombat way back in the Arcade and on the Amiga but I cant see this scoring more than AA which will still be a really good score. I think the beat'em'up generation is stale now.

You're probably right, besides screw that I am more interested in this MK. Finally the series is back on form.

I'm glad that this game only has the fighters from MK 1, 2, and 3. The other ones starting from MK 4 and the later games after that (Not counting MK VS DC) were very lame and always felt out of place. They never felt like MK characters to me so the original ones is what we really want.

BTW nice thread, can't wait for the game. As long as it gets a score of 8.0 or higher, I'm happy.

Based off of a NetherReal slip up from last year, this game might just be a launch title on the NGP.

I would definitly look into the portable version but, I would rather play this game at a relatives house. It's better than arcade mode IMO due to the banter and fatalities you might stumble upon. lol
