Mortal Kombat Hype thread!!..56k Finish him!!! Hype met GS 8.5

When you say the final roster is 26 characters, is that INCLUDING Kratos? If so then we have 3 left to learn. I am hoping for Shao Kahn, Smoke, and mataro :P. I dont relaly need Motaro, I just remember him from UMK3 and I loved that game. DLC will probably have some of them and others like Goro.

I just realized Sheva isnt there either :o

He's a pre-MK4 character. He was in Mortal Kombat: Mythologies. He's canon before MK4, he's the reason Scorpion is a Spectre and why Noob Saibot is a wraith.

Then again, he DID appear in the kids cartoon, Defenders of the Realm (yes, there was a kids cartoon based on MK, like Jackie Chan, but he's a PG-13 to R rated action star with his own cartoon, but that's still similar) and that had mostly MKII and MKIII content, so yeah.

I know that, but I've read that this game is in the MK1-UMK3 timeline. Quan Chi wasn't in ANY of those games.

Quan Chi wasn't in those games but he was in MK: Mythologies. He still counts as a pre-MK4 character. MK4 was just the first time he was playabe, but he's part of the storyline of MK1-3. He's responsible for the whole Scorpion/Sub-Zero rivalry, so it makes sense he's in especially since Noob Saibot is in the game, but I'm not saying he's in - just that there's a chance that he is.

Though 2D MK games are better but my favourite thing about the 3D ones were the amount of unlockable nic-nacs they had. Deadly Alliance was the last new Mk game I played and it was a blast opening up all those coffins and checking the stuff, one of my favourite being this clip of Scorpion. I hope MK9 has a lot of things to unlock besides costumes :D

I don't know why I stopped buying new MK games I probably would have liked Deception since I really enjoyed Deadly Alliance. I guess I was just overwhelmed with games last gen and didn't have the money.

Predicting an 8 or so, and not all that hyped. It seems like a solid diversion but I've never really been a huge MK fan. Sure, as a kid the violence was appealing but once it came down to the gameplay, it just didn't hold up.

bah! I always find MK to be some of the most fun fighting, and the style is great. It's not just about the blood and such, its the awesome dark feel with what IMO is a great cast of characters. I just dont usually like many characters in fighting games, but how can you NOT like many of these?

I wished they released it for the PC like the good old days. :(

I would get it on PC if it was on PC, but it isnt a HUGE deal to me since I want to use a playstation controller anyway so the only difference is graphics (which is nice :P), but I bet the community will be bigger on PS3 than PC. Oh and Kratos. Ok I will stick with PS3 anyway :P.

PS3 version has Kratos, damn, another multiplat to get on PS3 instead of 360 like I usually do.:P

I wouldn't doubt that my the makers should have AT LEAST tried, I bet it would have done very well. Steet Fighter IV was quite successful on the PC. On the PC in FULL HD 1080P with 8XEQAA with 16X Anistrophic Filtering looks like a NIGHT and DAY difference than consoles low rez 720p crap with low FSAA.

In honour of MK returning to its roots, any word that begins wit the letter 'C' will be replaced with a 'K' in this thread. So ****c is now klassic, which is what MK9 will be come.
