Oh we have a clue. The leaks on the PS4 were true so I believe the specs on the Xbox to be true as well. And yes even before the meeting there were rumors that Sony wanted to bump the memory up to 8GB. So info is out there you just choose to ignore it.

They can't beat 8GB GDDR5 no matter what, so it doesn't matter.

It's too late for that now. If they change anything major this close to launch they risk having RROD part 2. After the losses they took duee to RROD I don't think they'll be stupid enough to risk it happening again. The most lems can hope is pray that they up their RAM in DDR3. It's too late to go GDDR5 at this point. It's not a simple matter of just plugging in more RAM sticks, the entire board, power supply, cooling, etc. needs to be changed if you're changing the type of RAM.

Do you think MS (assuming the rumors were true like the PS 4) could change their  Architecture to beef up their system to match or far pass the PS 4?  It's no secreat that MS has a bigger bank roll than Sony and Nintendo and could beat them in pricing, but the utter silence from MS after the PS 4 revile makes me wonder if they're tweaking the Next Box  a bit or do you think it would be too late?

 And before anyone says anything I'm no Lem, I'm probably going PS 4 unless Sony does something really stupid like charge for online.

Microsoft has made Billions from Xbox 360 so I think they will do what ever it take to make sure Xbox 360 is better even if it means they lose money in the beginning.

But since they do not want to be far behind PS4 launch, Maybe 16GB of GDDR5 will due.  microsoft could go and use a less GPU APU and then have a dedicated GPU to up the power. added L1, L2 and L3 cash also would make the console more powerful. Dedicated GPU memory like Xbox 360 has could help.

anything more would cause a redesign and I do not think that microsoft would do that as it would delay the xbox launch.

The big question is WILL microsoft do it. or will they try to fight Sony with advertising, and bought timed exclusives?

New generation.  New start.  Nintendo went from the Gamecube to the Wii.  Sony went from nothing to the Playstation 1.  Developers and publishers simply throw their weight behind whatever sells.  Let's look at PS3 and 360, though.  Where do they end the generation correlation with each other?  Neither MS or Sony have any significant advantage over each other in the year 2013.  ..So it wouldn't matter anyway if it didn't already not matter anyway.

The fact that 3rd party titles have sold better on the XBox 360 for most of this generation, I can easily see 3rd party developers continuing to support the XBox 360.

There are plenty of third party games that sell better on PS3 than 360 right?  FIFA, FFXIII and DMC4 come to mind immediately, but there were many others.  Aside from a couple to hand full of exclusivity deals inked in the early on, what kind of guarantee does any third party publisher have that NextBox is going to take off in some significant manner to warrant pissing in Sony's cheerios?  Please don't even try to answer that.  We both know the answer.

Really?  So, both consoles being in the upper 70million units sold each is a figment of my imagination?  What about that Wii thing?  Again, you are merely operating under this assumption that somehow XBox360 did a whole lot better than it actually did.  I don't want to be mean, but it is an argument irrespective of reality.

I don't even know what to counter that with.  I somehow picture in my head that you have it pictured in your head that Sony is just waving a credit card in the air and hoping that AMD clears the receipt and then all of the resources going to developers in their first party is also being paid for with Monopoly money.  I just...  I don't get what you have in your head as far as Sony's financial situation.  Their debts outweigh revenue for now, but they have monstrous resources at their command even still.  Go watch a James Bond movie if you don't believe me.

Cows are claiming domination before all the hardware and games have even been shown. I think that's the same thing then did before the PS3 launched as well. Sigh......

I'll just return to my original argument then.  Kuturagi is old news and Cerny is in.  BluRay is the only format that any publisher even wants to touch at this point.  Even the new Xbox will use it.  This is like that awkward part in a Dragonball episode where Goku takes off his weighted clothing to fight the next opponent after summarily going to to toe with the previous one.  Does that register to you at all?  PS4 is literally nothing like the problematic PS3?

Where as it was put kind of brashly and everything up until the last four words are not set in stone, it would be a stretch for Microsoft to greatly change their architecture and raise prices from projected online specs ESPECIALLY if kinect will be added to every console. Anybody who thinks that SONY or Microsoft have not already started production of parts or even consoles themselves needs a reality check... Thats not even mentioning the games that have been in development for the console for quite some time. The devs and internal employees would HAVE TO KNOW what specs they had to work inside of. Anybody who thinks that the specs are not already set are the clueless ones... The Power of the console has been set. They could add some RAM for better rendering/more objects on screen/ larger play areas, but MOST of the internal parts are indeed already selected. Also, the business plan would have to be rewritten and HUGE deals would have to be reworked. WIth the rumors that 720 will ship BEFORE PS4 by a small window only helps prove that it is all but too late at this point without incurring HUGE financial backlash. The route Microsoft is taking with a more casual approach means that they will not need to push their console as much as SONY which are going for a specific audience. Microsoft is taking Nintendos approach and going after them while hoping that the fan base they built with the Xbox and 360 will stay with them out of loyalty. However, I can see Microsoft jumping out of the gates extremely strong and then fading very quickly... like another launched next gen console already released. Microsoft WILL NOT maintain their "core" players with a casual approach even if they get the initial sales, overall sales and game sales will go to SONY. It might be a race for a year or two and then SONY will leave them in the dust. Do I know that last part for sure? No, but I have seen it happen several times in the past and it seems like every console manufacturer has to find out the hard way. PLaystation just had theirs, and they will not make the same mistakes again. I found it admirable that SONY said "we know who our user base is, and we want to cater to them!" Something Xbox has failed to do for a few years, and will fail to do next gen.

If I am wrong, that is great. I would love to buy the 720, but things are not looking good right now.

Also, just so its known I own a lot of consoles and I have never discriminated when I feel the company is trying to please its user base. I feel that Nintendo (although finishing 1st) abandoned the core user base with the Wii, PS3 was and will be the blacksheep of the SONY family, it looks like Microsoft and Nintendo may both have a turn now. Nintendo will have a hard time recovering loyalty for screwing their fans over, so unless Microsoft plans for this to be their last console they are shooting themselves in the foot whether they suffer this coming gen or next.
