I worked in a Shoe store when I was young. We would price things higher for a couple months before the holiday season to give the illusion that when we did drop the price, it was this amazing deal. Not once sacrificing profit margins. Actually turning a higher profit in the months leading up to the Holiday rush.

I said Phantom Dust, Scalebound and Crackdown likely won't make it until 2016. After that I said I hope QB will make it (read: I didn't say it wouldn't make it). From that to "XBOX HAS NO EXCLUSIVES!!!!" is a damn long way. Halo 5, Fable and QB will likely be the exclusives for 2015. There is also that rollercoaster thingy in March(?).

I'm not so sure about that. I can't see them dropping the price again for some time especially since they don't even have the benefit of being able to manufacture the console cheaper than their rivals this time round so that's one front they can't really go anywhere on.

Games? Well their lineup looks weaker than last year, new IPs like Titanfall with it's ludicrous hype didn't push the console nearly as well as expected so i don't see Quantum Break doing anything different, Fable's always been a second tier exclusive imo and with the different direction it's going i don't think it's going to be anything to write home about. I guess they're just banking on Halo.

Sony are sitting on a price drop, profit on every console plus UC4 and Bloodborne. GT7 is also an absolute behemoth in terms of sales if it's a full title and makes 2015. Never mind the fact that the PS4 has outsold the Xbox all year with a slimmer release schedule and is still walking all over the Xbox world wide.

The overwhelming number of bundles and deals were just too good. I got the Assassin's Creed bundle, with the Master Chief Collection for under $349...CANADIAN...at a Microsoft kiosk in a mall here in Vancouver. I could care less about Assassin's Creed, I just wanted the Master Chief Collection.

The XBox One engine has been pretty much idle for most of 2014. They haven't even revved it yet. In 2015 the gear will be put in 1st and the fun will really begin.

28 exclusives for the xbox is going to be more than enough and I already have a backlog because the games have plenty of replay value unlike on my ps4 where mostly every game is one and done.

A tear down of the xbox components was done last year,it cost about $471 to make an xbox one Kinect,they say Kinect adds like $75 dollars that means the xbox one cost to manufacture $396 dollars to make that doesn't include any shipping cost retailers cut or any crap like that.

So yeah even without taking into consideration the retail channel price hike they are losing some $46 dollars on each unit,that without counting the 2 free games that for MS aren't free they have to pay a licence and royalties to Ubisoft,specially on Unity which is a fresh new game,those games most cost at least close to what they cost to gamestop to MS i am sure this is a business after all.

Hell Unity bundle sold some 700+k alone that is more than ACU stand alone so yeah that cost MS a pretty penny.
