I had a Saturn first, then jumped to the PS1. I always went with Nintendo's competition. I was a Sega fan since Master system.cainetao11
That's what I like to hear :P Because that means you owned a Dreamcast?
If you say no I'll be heartbroken.

Conker's Bad Fur Day went above and beyond anything on the PS1 in terms of mature content. C'mon, you fought a boss made of ****Uh, no it didn't. Take Thrill Kill for example:Mr_Nordquist
Content included revealing BDSM and fetishistic costumes, characters with amputated limbs and other handicaps and violent and sexual moves with names such as **** Slap", "Swallow This", and "RUG Muncher".

I had both but ended up trading my N64 away for a football card. I didn't care for the system because the only game it had that I cared about was Goldeneye 007. So after I beat that game a few times, I got bored with the system and traded it. I still have about 50 PS1 games and outside of playing Guild Wars on my PC, I have pretty much only been playing PS1 games the past few weeks. I have mainly been playing FF7. I no longer have a PS1 because my PS2 plays PS1 games.
Well me and you clearly have a different opinion on what we consider mature. Fighting a pile of crap is not my idea of mature.Conker's Bad Fur Day went above and beyond anything on the PS1 in terms of mature content. C'mon, you fought a boss made of ****
Mr_Nordquist
the n64 hands down, it won that whole console war back then, you want to know why? because i had so much friggen fun with it, my friends and i still play a round of golden eye every once in a while, we never argued over sales, we never said that the ps1 had better graphics no...we were true fans, we played the games because they were fun and wasted away the hours thats what gaming is about.

I agree. That game might be worse than Conker, but considering it never actually got released, and had to be bootlegged doesn't really mean much for the system.
If the most vile, putrid, and disgusting game was developed, and violated every censor in the industry, and never got released then it means zero, zilch, nada.

You clearly did not read what I quoted which said the N64 had no M rated games, and then you also decided to not read where I mentioned the game wasn't mature, but it was a rated M game.
My fav N64 games wereDiddy Kong Racing, Banjo, Mario 64, Blast Corps, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Stafox 64
My fav PSOne gameswere Monster Rancher 2(I love this game), FF7-9.
I'll have to give the edge to the N64. Just more memorable games on that system for me.
[QUOTE="enterawesome"]N64 was superior. So many good games...Midnightshade29What good games did the n64 have besides Zelda, MArio and Goldeney? What? There were no Mature titles as nintendo has made it know it was a the kid system while Sony focused on everyone but targeted 19 years old. I watched a documentary on PS1 and Phil Harrison said multiple times that is how they launched the ps1 targeting 19 year olds because if your young you want to be that age and if your old you want to be that age. It was a perfect strategy I think as it got adults who used to play the NES, Genesis, SNES and Turbo grafix back into gaming. I know I had stopped gaming after Junior Highshcool and didn't game at all really during High School but after the ps1 came out, and I played Resident Evil 1, Final Fantasy 7, and Loaded for the first time (my first 3 games) I was hooked hooked! You've GOT to be kidding me. "Mature"? That is NEVER an issue with games(Bar the extremes of course). "Mature" Is basically teenager slang for "cool". You're playing a video game, I don't think it really matters how "mature" it is. The simple fact is that OOT, SM64, SSB, and Goldeneye will keep you playing longer than all the games on PS1 combined. And then there's Perfect Dark, MK64, MM, Rare's games, etc.
Well me and you clearly have a different opinion on what we consider mature. Fighting a pile of crap is not my idea of mature.[QUOTE="TheGreatOutdoor"]

I responded to what I quoted and you did not say it wasn't mature in what I quoted. If you said this in another post....then good for you, but I am not going looking for it because I don't care too. I just know fighting a pile of crap is not mature to me.What a list, it's too bad not all of those games on PS1 are that great, and what's with the little to no Rare games on N64?PS1 all the way for this: FFVII FFVIII FFIX FFT FF Anthologies FF origins Chrono Cross Vagrant Story Legend of Mana Legend of Legaia Legend of Dragoon Star Ocean: The 2nd Story Threads of Fate Xenogears Suikoden Suikoden II Wild ARMs Wild ARMs 2 Vandal Hearts Vandal Hearts II Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Breath of Fire III Breath of Fire IV Saga Frontier Saga Frontier 2 Thousand Arms Front Mission 3 Threads of Fate Persona Persona 2 Parasite Eve 1 and 2 Ogre Battle Ogre Tactics Beyond the Beyond Diablo 1
and this: Mega Man Legends 1 and 2 Tomb Raider 1,2,3, and 4 Bushido Blade 1 and 2 Wipeout Deception Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3 Silent Hill Driver Legacy of KAin Blood Omen Castlevania SOTN! Spyro 1, 2 and 3 Crash Bandicoot 1, 2 and 3 Syphon filter 1, 2, and 3 Metal Gear Solid Twisted Metal 1, 2 and 3 Mediveal 1 and 2 Medal Of Honor Medal Of honor Underground Rayman Pandimonium and the list goes on and on....................Mostly for the rpgs, platformers, and Adventure games.....PS1 rocked and had so many RPGS and I am buying them now again on ps3 as I had to sell my old ps1 games to pay rent in 2001
The only games I remember from n64 were Mario64, Zelda OOT and Majoras Mask, Goldeneye, Star Fox, and Super Man64...lol.... Did N64 even have an rpg? Did it?
I also think this has something to do with age. I was 20 when I got my ps3 in 1998, so outgrew nintendo....Sony was fresh with a new medium for games long games like rpgs with Final Fantasy that I grew up on with the NES and other genres that I used to play on my old 386 pc... I loved loved loved my ps1!!!!!Midnightshade29
had both but I have more memories with the n64, not only is oot(legend) my favorite game ever but other games specially the four players games were awesome: smash bros(classic), 007(classic), perfect dark(classic), turok 1&2(guilty pleasures), jet force giminy(danm it I forgot how to spell it already, but still personal favorite), pokemon stadium1&2(classics), pokemonsnap(awesome), banjo1&2(classics), dk64(gring it back ninty with a rap song please), iti mi mario(legend), zmm(the most unique zelda game, loved it and hated it all together), starfox64(epic), yeah a lot of rare, the sadest part for meis thatboth ninty and rare have lost their magic IMO. The snes was alsoa legend and the nes is was my first timereally enjoying games, but after the gamecube gen I really just grew out of nintendo. I don't hate them but I still give them a lot of crap for how they handle their bussiness, hopefully the next zelda finally makes me buy a wii insteadof bothering my best friend all the timelol.
As for playstation, well that was really awesome, the system awesome at the time and brought cinematic gameplay to the first time to games and gaming has been on that road ever since. But I don't really feel like typing anymore so to conclude I think personally the 90's really is unmatched when it comes to gamming. So many great games and great gaplay innovation came those 10 freaking awesome years..............*tear runs down the face and fades to the air of the setting sun*......ok weird!!

N64 because of the Rare games.

Yep, they ruled, I played Perfect Dark more than any other PS1 game, and liked it more than any PS1 game too.Agreed.
Banjo Kazooie/Tooie, Donkey Kong, Perfect Dark, Goldeneye etc.

Yeah, I love how that user made that list of mostly A-AA PS1 games and Rare had like 6 AAAs that blew most of them away IMO.N64. Goldeneye was so ahead of its time it's not even funny. And that is just one game out of many that I loved. PS1 was great too, and it had much better fighting games.

Had both. The PS1 sucked, imo. N64 brought classics. PS2 brought overrated blah. So N64 it is.

Dissed the PS2, also considered by many to be the best console of all time, in a thread that has nothing to do with it? Double check.
Yep, it's no secret you hate PlayStation. But you're net even trying to hide it anymore.

I'd suggest against doing this in the future, or you'll just be wrong again in your futile attempts at owning someone :(

I only say this because I recently began playing Banjo Tooie, but I have to say that Banjo Tooie is inferior to Banjo Kazooie. There's just too much back tracking, and you can't finish levels in one go, so I always feel like I'm not progressing at all, and then I get sad. Then I go to bed, and have nightmares :(

Yeah, but it's still a great game though. It is after a certain point. Once I get the wall climbing shoes I think I'll be really happy, but until then.........
I did get myself a copy of Jet Force Gemini to hold me over during periods of boredom with Banjo Tooie though :P
prefer the PS1. to me the N64 just couldnt compete, i prefered the games the PS1 had like MGS, FF, Tekken, GT etc.
[QUOTE="FILIPINOMAZTER"]well, the ps1 copied the n64 but the n64 was quality>quantity so i dont knowPAL360
How did the PSX copied N64 since it came first?
it's a common misconception, really. I think its rooted in two facts: 1. The Playstation was slated to be Nintendo's next gen system developed in conjunction with Sony 2. The N64 pioneered the analog stick and vibration, which were later introduced by Sony to the Playstation as well. Please Log In to post.
