Superficially at least, Heavenly Sword is an almost impeccable display of sheer, unrestrained talent.
9.0 Graphics
Minor framerate and tearing issues aside, Heavenly Sword is an absolutel tour de force of visual splendour.
8.5 Sound
Voice acting, effects work and soundtrack hit all the rights buttons with gusto, although occassional dodgy level mixing hurts.
6.0 Gameplay
As solid as its component parts are, poor design decisions and awful structure mean they never make for a cohesive, satisfying whole.
6.0 Lasting Appeal
Despite the wealth of combos and extras to unlock, you'll be constnatly battling with tedium on subsequent play-throughs.

haha, I beat you to it by 2 thread postings!

ANyways, 7/10 and up is pretty much my standard and this now goes along with Play's 10/10, and PSX/PSW's 9 and 8 respectively. AA status for now isn't bad at all.

Ahahaha, things are not looking good for Sony minions, not at all good.

I hyped it AAA, if/when it flops I'll take my ownage nice and hot.

Say what you will Lemmings, but once Warhawk and Heavenly Sword come along, I won't have to sit here on system wars all day trying to justify my console purchase by calling games that score good flops.

cows have a very low standard for video games and will play gundam cross:fire because it is exclusive

What? The game was hyped 9.0+; if it scores less than that, it is a flop. If it scores multiple points less than that - like a 7.0, it's a pretty huge flop.

That's the way it works.

With overhype comes flops :)

GameSpot's score is the law here. That is how System Wars is structured. IGN carries no weight here.

I really kind of feel bad for PS3 owners who were looking forward to this game. I'm sure good games will come out, though. Hang in there!

It's not like I've been playing wonderful games all day on my 360. I enjoyed Gears, Oblivion, and some PGR3, but nothing has wowed me yet.

Show me the Gamespot reviews for any of those games. Oh wait you can't. None of those games have flopped.

gameplay comes back to haunt this game. I talked about it and cows flamed me for it...but the gameplay experience felt terrible. the weapons switching seemed unnecessary and the combos felt dull and empty. turns out the demo was an accurate representation of the entire game.

am fail.
