RurouniSaiyajin

since wen was 7 a flop?

Since it was hyped AAA (9-9.5). 7 is A, if GS's score is similar then it's a very large flop. And yes this is an IGN score, but IGN are a lot more generous with their scores then GS, so don't get your hopes up.

IGN UK scores higher than IGN, and IGN scores higher than Gamespot... What is it gonna get? A 4?

IGN UK Crush - 8.0

IGN - 8.9

IGN UK - Medal of Honors: Heroes - 6.9

IGN - 8.4

IGN UK Guitar Hero II - 8.3

IGN - 9.5

IGN UK FF XII - 9.0

IGN FF XII - 9.5

Fanboys should actually do some research before they actually say anything.

You do realize you listed games that appeal to Americans more than it does to Europeans, right?

[QUOTE="Dreams-Visions"][QUOTE="Tactis"]i read it again six to seven HOURS?????? you have got to be kidding me this makes all the cows saying gears of war was short totally stupid. blue_hazy_basic

We've known it was under 10 hours for a couple weeks now.

Makes an utter mockery of that PSireland website some people were throwing around that said the game took them 5 day 12 hr stints to complete without looking for any of the hidden or secret areas/items lol

they really said that? maybe they only played it 2 hours/day? :?

I still think there's a good chance HS will eke out AA status here, regardless of what early reviews say. I said AA and I'm sticking with AA.

Resistance: Fall Of Man

IGN= 9.1

IGN AU=8.4

IGN UK=8.0

So, there is a history of UK IGN scoring less.

Better wait for IGN USA and Gamespot to score before claiming ownage people.

I thought it was a great review. They went into heavy detail about what they didn't like, pointed out the portions that worked very well, and were up front about the game being fun. Games are not usually perfect and a 7.0 rating sits just fine with me. If I'm having fun I can usually get passed a few flaws here and there. :)

I'm not an expert at European gaming taste, but I'm sure the whole world is neutral on action/adventure kind ofgames.

Maybe this is why MS passed on locking in Ninja Theory for this game?

I remember that Microsoft passing on this game was a big point of Cow laughter and finger pointing some months ago.

People are having fun dissing the Playstation fans.

But hey it's their fault for hyping Heavenly Sword, even after the lackluster demo. Oh well atleast the game shows what the PS3 can do graphically lol.

I predict the press avg for HS to be 7.8-8.3

CajunShooter

First off the demo wasn't lackluster and I am still going to enjoy all these games no matter what they score. They aren't terrible games they are still good games.

7.0 is a barely above average game, how would you know other wise since you haven't played the retail copy?

From the little taste they give you in the demo this seems like a game I will enjoy so it doesn't matter what the reviews say. As long as their are no major technical issues that make this game unplayable it will still be a good game. 7.0 is not a terrible score.

Did I say it was a terrible game? No, all im saying is, I wouldn't put all your faith in a short demo. The demo gives you a good taste on how the game will flow and work, but it doesn't give you an idea of how much depth or lasting appeal it has. It is stupid to say, I DONT CARE WHAT IT RANKS IM GONNA ENJOY IT!!! Don't you think you are trying too hard?

i dont know if anyone knows what digg.com its where you submit stories from the web and then vote on them and more votes get to the front page. Anyway, there was this story talking about how HS was originally going to be a 360 game and every single comment was about how Microsoft screwed up i guess they know what they are doing..

Say what you will Lemmings, but once Warhawk and Heavenly Sword come along, I won't have to sit here on system wars all day trying to justify my console purchase by calling games that score good flops.

Those ratings are quite fair, the fighting in the demo was pretty slow and boring, but i liked the actions scenes (like when you re running on the ropes and the like) and the stunning graphics.

Yep. It's not a shallow review by any stretch of the imagination. He called it as he saw it and made it clear.

I think the important thing to take from all of the scores he's posted thus far is that there is a wide range of variability between IGN UK, and IGN. We really have to wait untill IGN or Gamespot reviews it. That being said, I don't think it's going to turn out to well.

*sigh* all that happens now is we will see 100 new threads a day with titles like Uncharted look 50 times better then Gears, Uncharted could not be done on 360, uncharted this and that. Cows live to hype any game that is exclusive to kingdom come.

Probably going to be AA here. Also, how is it that IGN in the UK got a copy when the game won't even be out for a while there? Hell it isn't out for almost 3 weeks here in North America.

So, FPSs, RPGS, Puzzles and Music Simulator games all appeal more to Americans?

IGN UK - Dance Factory 8.5

IGN - Dance Factory - 3.5

IGN UK - The Darkness 360 - 8.5

IGN - The Darkness 360 - 7.8

IGN UK -Innocent Life: A Futuristic Harvest Moon- 6.9

IGN - 6.5

IGN UK - Picross - 9.0

IGN - 9.0

goodlay

Thank you for proving my point, IGN UK usually scores higher than IGN. Which obviously usually scores higher than Gamespot.

Wow. Fanboys certainly hear only what they want to hear. I just prove that fact wrong with my first post. If anything, I proved that there is no real facts proving they review one way or another...except for Soccer Games and Offroad Racers. I'll give you that they score higher on those kind of games.

Past history or not, it doesn't really matter, just wait for the US IGN review and the GS one, good lord, this isn't anything important to argue about.

Thing with this kind of psychology (using a hand full of reviews to suppose a broader inconsistency) is that it dismisses the majority of their reviews in favor of a couple that show variation. Never mind the hundreds of reviews that we can pull up which show their scoring is no more or less consistent than any other review site...it doesn't achieve the goal of creating reasonable doubt in the eyes of those concerned.

"If it doesn't fit, you must acquit."

right? Ignore the obvious in favor of the small anomaly.

I can point out something in the review that I am going to take to heart and which might actually keep me from buying the game. A six to seven hour adventure is probably not enough to warrant my $60 purchase. I had thought this game would be pushing closer to ten hours and this shorter game doesn't sit very well with my wallet.

Itagaki says:

"I've never played a good game where the developers put a big icon of the button you're supposed to press onscreen. I look at Heavenly Sword and it seems really half-assed, because it's asking you to do all these button-timing sequences but you are not getting much payoff from it"

- Itagaki.

I felt his whole statement needed to be heard :P

you are a god among men for finding that quote.

I..get...my own bukkits! :D:D

Probably going to be AA here. Also, how is it that IGN in the UK got a copy when the game won't even be out for a while there? Hell it isn't out for a while yet here in North America.DSgamer64
It's been gold for some time now.
