So, will have 16 core CPU, 4GB ram, and AMD 7990 plus Kinect V2. All for $300 dollars. With specs like these and throwing the beauty of console optimization on top, the graphcis are going to make PC look like WII U in comparison. No point in building a pc when 720 costs $300 and has betetr hardware than even a $2000 pc will have. I guess AMD stating 720 will have Avatar graphics is true after all.reach3

360 managed to rival high-end PCs on release due to jump to unified shader model,which gave it an advantage...

This time,nothing similiar won't happen.Also,his predictions about next consoles are solid,he takes a lot of things into the account,costs,power consumption,TDP,performance,etc...

Xbox 360 put 3 CPUs (when PC had only one) and Xenos that was 10x better than the best in 2005 (7800GTX)

So, these specs are probably the very early dev kits, the 720 will be far more powerful lthan these

Intel Atom X3 ~= IBM PPE X3 i.e. both are in-order dual instruction issue CPU cores with SMT. IBM PPE X3 has half clock speed L2 cache i.e. 1.6Ghz. It's designed to be cheap like a netbook.

The PC will never get destroyed by consoles, ever. The Nvidia GTX 690 destroys everything that consoles can offer. The PC is like 2 generations ahead.

Even if the Xbox did use that hardware, you do realize that by the time the console hit the streets, Nvidia, Intel and AMD will have released several faster and much better parts? By the time it's out, it's already old. You are living in a dream, if you ever think that an entire console, which by the way costs less than a current high end graphics card, will leave a PC in the dust.

Also, you do realise the 360's RROD problems were because of overheating....right?

Same heat as most chip resulted in disconnection from the motherboard, it was not the heat itself that was the problem

I know because i have fixed my 360 by just attaching the chip firmer to the board and then it worked fine

A heat problem is when the chip breaks or does not work due to heat, that is an actual heat problem and 360 never had such an issue

That would cost quite a bit of money if you were building a PC, I would hate to see what MS would charge for it...

Which would completely invalidate the, "PC gaming is too expensive" argument that a lot of people on this forum use.
