PS5 in 2018?

Uh oh, Scorpio! Reports of PS5 arriving sooner than later suggest lemmings should savour the temporary flavor while they can.

Thats what ive been hearing also. Its rumored to be native 4K gaming. Ive been hearing 8tflops and a couple have stated 10tflops.

10tflops makes more sense cause thats what Xbox Next is rumored at also, 10tflops.

Even more reason for the Pro to piss off.

Cows will get all pissy when the Xbox Scorpio follow-up curb stomps the PS5 in 2019.

Is there even a point in Scorpio releasing now?

Of course....more of a point than the Pro, but I am annoyed with it all.

@Zen_Light: The Xbox one is rumored to be called Xbox Next right now. Scorpio is a current gen console coming next year. Think of Scorpio as an upgrade. The Xbox Next is a next gen console rumored to have 10 tflops.

If lems can deal with a 40% power gap for 3 years, then a 300% power gap for 1 year, I don't think cows having to deal with a ~40% power gap for 1 year is too big of a deal.

Wonder if they're gonna announce the PS5 when it's 1.5 years out like the Scorpio.

Sorry, I don't see it, especially if one just simply looks at Sony's Home console history starting with the PS1 - PS3.

Sony is on a six-seven year cycle at the very least, which placed the PS5 between 2019-2020. If the PS4 was struggling, then I could see Sony going to a five year cycle for the first time in their home console division, but factoring in the PS4's massive success we already know Sony (as any company in their #1 position) is going to want to prevent a generational reset for as long as possible.

Xbox Next was what the Xbox 360 was called before it was officially named.

Some fans tried to re-use the Xbox Next moniker to describe the Xbox One before it was officially named but the media usually referred to that as the Xbox 720.

Xbox Next is rumored at 10-12 FLOPS actually. That would bury the PS5.

Welcome to the world of mid gen refreshes. You'll see a new box every 2-3 years that offers even better options than the previous. That said, I don't expect another PlayStation console until 2019 (making it 3 years after PS4 Pro).

How sony is screwing up slim buyers.? You don't have $400 you buy the $300 version very simple,how is that a screw up.? Is not like we didn't see that with the PS3 and xbox 360,core for $299 premium $400 and the only difference was storage and wired controller.

On PS3 it was bigger drive wifi and media card reader.

You want something better you buy something better,is no different than Scorpio which release next year,now tell how that doesn't screw the slim xbox one.

Even if there was a PS5 on the horizon, I wouldn't buy it day one anyway. PS4 will be my last Sony console and I will admit I am enjoying PS4 as it is but this point on, the NX will be my very last console purchase and from there, it's PC gaming from here on out.

Why would Sony put so much money and resources into PSVR and PS4 Pro just to turn around and launch another console in 2018? You all have proven you don't like to buy games, online, DLC, Season passes etc. Why would a company that wants to make money release consoles this quickly? And to this fanbase no less. Seeing as the Scorpio is more than a year away and the X1S came with a 4K UHD player, I didn't see a problem with it. The PS4 pro nor the slim come with it but the Pro does make the Slim rather obsolete considering it's coming out 1-2 months after the slim. I don't think buying a Pro now is an issue considering the PS5 might be more than 2 years away.

This is sad. Why the hell did they release the PS4 Slim and the PS4 Pro and in just over a year they're going to release the PS5. They're screwing their fans big time. But for some reason their fans can't see this and just bragging about it lol. Also MS have been combining console and PC gaming because they share the same ecosystem so I wouldn't be surprised if the transition starts with the Scorpio. What if the Scorpio has optional upgradable parts making the PS5 useless because if the Scorpio has the option to be upgradable then it will always be ahead no matter what. But this is sad that cows have to hope and wait and hope the PS5 come out in 2018 and hope it finally have standard features like 4K blu-ray drive and official external hard drive support for games. #GreatmessAwaits
