@SolidGame_basic: What's both funny and predictable is that when it's announced, and the performance improvements prove to be minimal while Sony charges $700 or $800 for it, you will be the first one to make defensive and apologist threads about it.

It really depends on how much you value graphics and/or performance.

You could sell your PS5 for like $400 and upgrade for $200-$300 (?). Is $200-$300 worth the upgrade? Perhaps.

The PS5 is undoubtedly going to be the best performing console until next gen and the thing I always go back to is ... will the base PS5 actually keep up w/ 60fps modes for the rest of the generation? I very much doubt it. And, if it does, we'll most likely get resolutions of 1080p or less.

I agree with this. The best recommendation I can give is to wait for reviews if the Pro is worth investing. Assuming and this is a 'if' GTA6 is a major difference between playing it on regular PS5 and PS5 Pro, of course you want to play the game on the best console hardware.

I'd actually be excited if Sony hadn't released these games on PC already.

What a nothing burger announcement. The specs and features have been known for a long time and are not impressive. Also, the price is a tough sell for console peasants. Remember that PS4 Pro more than doubled the raw GPU performance and it was only $399.

The reception of this has been dismal, 800 euro and disc drive sold seperately. I think I am going to stick with my PC 1070GTX/Switch combo for a long time. As new hardware keeps being underwhelming.

This feels like having the back seat of a plane with no food, after paying for an all-in ticket.

I’ll never understand the console gamer expectations/price point expectations. Look at PC components prices. The Steam Deck and the other handhelds specs and prices. Any meaningful upgrade over the PS5 was going to cost $700+. And I don’t think PlayStation went big enough here. Cerny was basically hyping the consoles ability to run PS5s fidelity mode setting but at 60fps. Folks are better off spending a couple hundred extra on a PC for free online and Game Pass.

I’ll wait for a more detailed spec breakdown. But the details Cerny covered left me unimpressed.

If i dont have a PS5 this is instant purchase for me. But not gonna sell my base PS5 for this. If dor some reason my PS5 magically broke il buy.

Seems worth it to more than double the storage plus the added performance enhancements. The disc drive being excluded is what's hurting it imo.

Steam Deck cost me around €400 and can play my ENTIRE steam library.

This would cost me over twice that much, and from this list there's maybe two games I would play:

At some point console gamers are either going to have to become accustomed to paying more for the performance they expect. Or they’re going to have to lower their expectations. The console gamer crowd expecting native 4K/60 created this hell we’re currently in. Where PC gamers with $2,000 rig are playing at a native 1080p (and maybe up scaling from there) at 360fps.

Or if you're still playing on PS4, spend $700 so you can play a handful of games not on that system- Demon's Souls Remake, Ratchet and Clank, Returnal, Spiderman 2, Helldivers 2, AstroBot, FF7 Rebirth. Am I missing any? Is that really worth $700 to anybody?
