Did you use all 5 or so accounts you get with your Xbox 360? Microsoft gives you like 5 accounts and you get a free month of Gold with each one, so you might aswell use them. You can open a new gamertag, then download it there, and then play it using your normal gamertag.

You basically want it to be like Gears of War? There aren't many occassions when a trained soldier or special forces operative would fire while moving, unless you count shooting from a vehicle.

As a side note I feel more comfortable with the classic control scheme.

Soldiers are trained to Fire while moving, I don't know where you heard that from.

LOL, fire while moving.... These soildier must have the unlimited ammo hack, because fire while moving = teh miss

So?

So if RE5 is just a pretty version of RE4, that's 4 years of gameplay finetuning that RE5 isn't going to have. No moving while shooting is probably just the tip of the iceburg.

I guess it would be fine if MGS4 had only the same functions of MGS? Or if GTA:SA added nothing new to the franchise? It would be okay, because the original was a classic, right? No. Games need to evolve in more key areas than visuals.

I give the demo a meh/10. The control scheme -- true to the franchise or not -- is definitely more than the recommended daily dosage of weaksauce.

Not really. Its just an addition to the series. The general gameplay hasn't changed much. Which is both a good and bad thing.

IMO, the no moving while shooting works great to add intensity and tension. It sounds dumb, but RE in its current form would not work if you were able to shoot and move at once. It would be too easy, and lack any thrill or sense of urgency. The game would turn into something like lost plane, which its clearly not trying to be.

really disappointed by this... i think there's a strong chance this'll be the first RE title I pass on.

grenades in melons? ammo everywhere? RT can't be modified to represent a main control function, just locate partner? inventory swapping takes Y + moving to item + pushing A + selecting Equip to swap? are you ******* joking me?

making the controls harder don't add to the ambiance / theme / genre, they just serve to frustrate. annoying as ****.

Capcom, notes for the future:

-finally fix your stupid controls

-make this survival horror again, not arcade Zombie hunt with grenade fruit / ammo fruit.

I dig RE5 more than RE4. And I forgot to mention, Capcom delivered the longest demo I think I've ever come across for a linear SP game.

another glaring criticism:

wtf is up with the zombie megaphone rally? had us all laughing our **** off at my place when we just played through it. they a) don't have intelligence, b) don't have memory. how the hell do they understand him, how the hell is he actually rallying people... really kinda rips you out of the story imho... unless this is some new virus that lets people still organize rallies, lmao.

they're still not supposed to be able to verbally communicate from what i understand - just seems like a ridiculous twist on the series, and don't get me wrong.. i love RE. aside from that, it was a minor complaint. my main complaint is the difficulty is incredibly easy, controls are still ridiculously poorly done (and you can't really change them up that much despite there being multiple different layouts that change next to nothing), ammo in melons, grenades in small fruit, analog stick sprint. all in all it's a pretty poor showing based on my hype imho...

i guess i missed it, lol. seriously made us laugh our ****** off though.. just seems so silly. if they can communicate and 'live in harmony' then wtf don't they try to hide from the obvious opposition that would come against a freaking zombie colony.

I'm sure it will be a bit harder in the final game. Remember the initial village fight in RE4 was quite easy, but the game gradually became more difficult. I predict RE5 will be the same (which makes sense). What demo have you played lately that was deathly hard to complete :?.

Wow really? Controls were solid in RE4, You know there's gonna be more difficulties once the game is released and so what their hiding ammo. So hideous monsters who wanna eat your flesh are ok, but hiding ammo in melons, seeing it takes places in a town, and there are gonna be market places don't you expect them to hide ammo somewhere else, rather than just bins all the time?

well i find that laughable i guess. i suppose you have to make things interesting but zombies that can communicate still and live in harmony just don't do it for me. personally the ammo melons / grenade melons / infinite revives / controls kill this for me though. maybe next time capcom :P maybe next time. or just stick with Dead Rising.

just curious, did you feel that RE4 was too easy for your tastes, or are you afraid that RE5 will be too easy? also, i'm not sure about the infinite revives, as the game still relies on herbs and first aid sprays.

well i find that laughable i guess. i suppose you have to make things interesting but zombies that can communicate still and live in harmony just don't do it for me. personally the ammo melons / grenade melons / infinite revives / controls kill this for me though. maybe next time capcom :P maybe next time. or just stick with Dead Rising.

well, with all due respect, the Ganado in RE4 exhibited teamwork and communication as well.

LOL yeah, pretty funny, but such a small thing to complain about. I'm actually pleased with the controls though. The ability to strafe was added. You just can't strafe while aiming. This isn't Gears of War after all. Being able to strafe while aiming removes tension. Then people would complain about it being WAY too easy, or too much like Gears. I do think there should be a roll maneuver though.

my concern isn't the rehash, it's the crap controls, super easy difficulty, ammo melons, grenade melons, infinite revives, lack of ability to map your own controls.

Wow really? Controls were solid in RE4, You know there's gonna be more difficulties once the game is released and so what their hiding ammo. So hideous monsters who wanna eat your flesh are ok, but hiding ammo in melons, seeing it takes places in a town, and there are gonna be market places don't you expect them to hide ammo somewhere else, rather than just bins all the time?

guess they just don't translate well to this gen, i've seen many many many complaints re: controls so don't try to pretend it's not an issue because you thought they were solid. that's always been the main complaint about RE series...

and yes buddy, zombies i can deal with, monsters, okay. this is an alternate world where zombies are an issue due to umbrella. unless i read something in the plot that has something to do with Umbrella planting ******* grenade / ammo melon crops i'm going to have an issue with it... especially when it takes the fun / challenge away. sure it's a laugh finding your first frag in a melon, but im sure that wasn't the intention of the devs...

silly game. imho. i preferred the non-communicating zombies.. now it just introduces more plot problems. like why the hell wouldn't they organize as a group of zombies if they can communicate to somehow hide from people.. if they can operate a megaphone why don't they use the guns & grenade melons they harvest against me? i mean i assume the megaphone isn't solar powered so he must have to find batteries for it, no? if you can put batteries in a megaphone you can surely reload one of the many guns scattered about.

many people judging by what im reading on many sites. this isn't a well received demo, many fans have issues. and coming from you, the person that just posted the 'seriously stop the RE5 hate' thread i think i'll take your criticism lightly.

The point is that they aren't zombies. You keep saying zombies :?. They showed signs of communications, working as a group, and having full control of their motor skills in RE4. The only laughable thing I see is ammo in fruit :lol:. Quite funny indeed. Just a question: Would you like for it to control more like Gears? Or what would be your suggestions? I think anything would break the tension.

its not though, it makes it really easy. ammo was always the problem in the previous games & you'd have to think for a bit about what you use your rounds on, now it's all like 'who do i shoot? i have 4 rounds left' 'whoever the **** you want, i just hit this melon and it was full of nades & rounds, go nuts, woo-hoo!'. feel like the game should be set in texas and we're all wearing cowboy hats hooting in to the sky as we shoot the village up. what's next? AC Gunships? Mechs?
