RIP Halo Infinite

Its underwhelming but its being compared to Fortnite that had few seasons and few map under its bag. They succeded as Apex create a large following. The hate was geared towards game balancing and loot box.

That's not the point. Point being is that even tho Respawn did launch Apex in a barebones state, that studio is pretty darn talented, so it was only a matter of time before a good amount of content was to be added. Same cannot be said about 343i. The amount of clusterfuckery they've given us with MCC alone was beyond laughable, and when they need over half a year to add coop when it was supposed to be available on day one in 2020, i just don't know if this dev should be making video games at this point.

Using one metric (Steam sales) is kind of a flawed way of determining whether a game is successful considering it is available on more than just Steam for the PC

As for people streaming Halo on Twitch, I don't think short MP games like Halo are really conducive to drawing in viewers.. COD: Vanguard only has 1.805K people watching as of the time of writing this and Halo Infinite has 1.5K watching .. both are short match type games (and COD has a larger install base). PUBG on the other hand has 19k people watching right now because it is a longer game and objective based with one death. I think shooter games where you respawn are not big draws for Twitch in general (there may be some exceptions I did not search every game)

The "feel" is important, but that's not what will keep you playing for months or years.

I have no interest in the competitive MP myself. No indication they want to give it a Warzone Firefight PvE mode. Look forward to co-op but in meantime I am back on Halo 5 for its Warzone Firefight.

It's stupid to buy this game from Steam when you can get it for free on PC gamepass. I'd wager most are playing it there.

The game is unfinished, lacking in content, has a horrific F2P model and is simply not very good

I still have 6-7 hours left from the free 10 hours. And I LOVED BF 1-4.

of course google recommended it to you. It recommends things you want to see, things like halo failing must be your dream. But its not going to happen. The problem with these fps games is that they all went towards the new model of BR and the old school halo model just isn't cutting it. It might be time for 343 to add the feature to their games. I mean, MS has the COD team who makes one of the biggest live service fps games currently on the market, so im sure they can help out and get the dumb BR mode added.

Wow it’s just sad how badly this game is doing!! Lems alone can’t save this game. Maybe lems should buy gaming pc to bring the pc player count higher, because this is just darn right embarrassing, especially when a single player game by Sony does really well on Steam

Even if you bought every possible thing in one of these games, how much would that cost? I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'm dubious of that being the full story. Welp, at least the SP is decent, started it on One X and finished on Series X, the resolution scaling was quite noticeable on SX for some reason.

I am waiting for the update where they launch co-op for the campaign.

Google says warzone has 100 million players, and 300,000 concurrent. So if just a fraction of that spent $5 at some point... that a decent amount of dough. Hell, I see people paying that for superchats, daily. So, while I definitely don't have all the facts, I do believe it affects far more than just the whales. But my bigger concern is what it's doing to kids. Kids are naturally little jerks already, we don't need to add more peacocking and selfishness to the mix.

@girlusocrazy: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. The $5 was just an example of how little sums add up to a lot. And having it be free is how most people (I'm assuming) justify those little payments. But as we've both stated, when they continue making small purchases, it adds up quick. People can spend their money on whatever they want, but when you pay up front, I think you are more critical of the product (it needs to be good), you focus more on the game (instead of cosmetics) and get a healthier experience (you aren't strung along for years). But with what people today, I'm not sure if that's really possible anymore.

You are correct that there are games that teach them how to earn something and play for the right reasons, but Roblox isn't a $40 billion dollar company by accident. Kids pump a lot of money into it, and way more kids play that than Metroid.

@girlusocrazy: Again, I don't think it's as much about them getting bored with their cosmetics, but that they're trying to keep up with or outdo others... the "look at me" mentality. Or they could be buying the battle pass to get access to multiple trash items; which frequently leads to game objectives becoming secondary to dailies.

I'm not a parent, but I have many kids in my life, between nieces, nephews and friend's children. And almost all of them play Roblox, and not far behind is Fortnite. I show them what I can, but one voice versus the world can only do so much. And I'm also hesitant to fully ostracize them from their friends. I can't stand the culture around the youth of today, but making them pariahs in their own circles won't fix anything. I can steer, but real change needs to come from the source.
