The PS2 had the same sales-problems when it launched and look now, over 115 million sold...

And why are even lemmings even bragging about the ps3-failure in Japan? The xbox has failed even more then the ps3. Yeah, they went from dominance to second place now, but it still outsells the 360. Did you even read the original post??? I've been saying this for a while in a few threads but the logic doesn't seem to sink in.

This gen 360 still sucks but the PS3 fanbasehas seemingly evapourated- it has also failed (or perhaps failing is more appropriate). This isn't a thread about ps3vs360 sales, its about the huge market share loss Sony is enduring at the minute in Japan compared to last gen.

The PS3 is losing more money than the PS2 is making now, which is why they posted that $1 billion loss. The Wii and the DS, on the other hand, are trouncing the competition. I don't see where you got this "more money than nintendo and MS combined" point from.

I so agree with you. People should use their brains a little more and stop saying "Sony has failed". They should instead say "PS3 is not doing so well" because saying "failed" instead is a definitive answer and we all know the PS3 has not failed yet because it may take up the pace again, just like the PS2 did when it was "young".

The march 2007 numbers put the wii at 6 million and the ps3 at 5.5.million and the ps3 cost 2x the price of the wii. In japan the wii's lead is less than 1 million and 360 is not even at 400k yet from the march 2007 numbers. Only in system wars can the ps3 be called a flop and the ps2 be ignored entirely.

The Big Picture? If you look at the BIG PICTURE, then Microsoft is actually winning, with Sony in third. Any smart person would know that since the 360 has both a time and price advantage, along with a more diverse library, it will continue to sell more than the PS3.

Yeah but change to what degree? The Wii has been selling amazingly since launch and the PS3 has not. The Wii WILL surpass the 360 by the end of 2007 (my personal prediction), however the PS3 can't really pick up sales.

What people don't understand is that a price drop ISN'T COMING, Sony simply can't afford to lose even more money on production costs, and reducing thier profit margin even more is not appealing to any business.

Japan is only one market. Microsoft is doing incredibly well in the LARGEST market, US, and also in EU.

I agree about how PS2 is still selling well, but what I've bolded I'll have to say is wrong from my research. From what I've seen (VG Charts and NexGen Wars both), the Wii is doing twice as well as the PS3. That includes Japan.

Plus people always assume sales would go up. there not a 100% garuntee the trend might be that sales go down so don't assume that sales of ps3 going up as a fact because we dont know for sure.

i doubt microsoft will be succesful in japan. ever, but yeah i see what ur saying, i think when they get some games that appeal to japs final fantasy and white knight story for example that should reallybe helpful.

Humm hyped games like Motorstorm? Resistance? yes both great games. Hyped. Not so much system sellers. No garuntee killzone 2 will sell systems. I call see little big planet doing it though looks awesome.
