Soundtracks That Are Better Than Halos?? Are There Any?

I know that there are tons of great soundtracks out there, and im 100 percent sure there are probably mind blowing ones i havent heard yet. However, as far as I am aware, alot of people give credit to Halo series for having the best soundtrack ? Is this true? I have noidea, but I will say I think it is extremely well made, having a ton of emotion and outstanding vocals and orchestra. Certain songs, especially Rain from ODST and Havy Price from Halo 2 really move me, make me feel the events of the game besides just seeing them and pumping bullets.

I love soundtracks so I am really curious, is there a better soundtrack than Halos. If there is i would love to hear it.

I would say for myself that if there was a soundtrack close to Halo's grand music it may be Assassins Creed's music. It does not have that same EPIC feel that Halo music has, but it is probably the most beautiful game music I have ever heard, and sometimes even a little haunting and supernatural. Given the very supernatural ending the gamer had and the beautiful streets of Venice and Florence tied in, the music ties in with the game amazingly. Try MGS4's OST or Mass Effect 1 and 2's OST. Also it's good to see someone with a good taste in Halo's music. :)

Halo is damn good, but Red Alert 2 was my favorite.

I like Homeworld's soundtrack. It has some middle-eastern influence that just works beautifully. It also does a fantastic job setting each tone in the game.

Nothing beats Morrowind/Oblivion OST by Jeremy Soule. THE best soundtrack in the gaming industry. Fable/Fable II by Russell Shaw is also great.

Ocarnia of Time or just about any MGS game, but pretty much all the Halo games I've played have great soundtracks.

Some of guildwars' was AMAZING. I never noticed at the time, but when i visit some of the places i used to go to when i was a low level, you really feel it.

Final Fantasy series, Chrono Trigger/Cross and the Metal Gear Solid series blow Halo away.

I could think of at least 50 other games that have a better soundtrack than Halo. In reality, it's only got one or two great songs.

The soundtracks from the Half life games are definitely better than Halo's.

My personal favorite soundtrack however is that from Donkey Kong Country 2!

Any Frank Klepacki staff. Especially early C&C games. He's god among the game music composers.

Also Half-Life series (Kelly Bailey).

Only really liked halo CE's soundtrack still one of the best of any game.

the theme for god of war 2 is really good too. Not too sure if anyone remembers this game but i used to love the soundtrack for Croc on the ps1.

Ocarina of Time and Mass Effect (maybe Mass Effect 2? Haven't played it yet).

Halo music is the best music in this industry by far imo.

Dragon Quest 8, Eternal Sonata, Chrono Cross and Final Fantasy 7 are some of my favorites.

I also like Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Super Mario Galaxy 2, and any Legend of Zelda's soundtrack. Bioshock's is great and atmospheric.

Yes there are soundtracks that are better than Halo; however for me the Halo soundtracks are high up there.Homeworld, the C&C games with Frank Klepacki staff, and one newer game that comes to mind would be Alan Wake. I love The Poet and The Muse, and also Children of the Elder God. [spoiler] just love the fighting off waves of Taken on a stagewhile this song was playing. [/spoiler]

One thing that should be noted is people have differences of opinion. One games soundtrack can be higher on a person's list.
