At least The Conduit had voice chat. It probably had a lot more online features too.
@Bread_or_Decide: The argument against having no voice chat goes beyond stupid, really.
1. You're using the worst case scenario
2. Plenty of people use party chat to chat with their friends.
3. It's totally optional.
There's literally no argument you can make other than saying you like sucking Corporate Nintencock, and that's why it's all okay.
@freedomfreak: Crap, i was hoping you'd blow a gasket without using common sense of asking for a source. Ohhhh you're good freedom.

And you are too kind.
ok that made me smile. It will break my heart to destroy the cat people when the great Cat vs Dog wars happen in Splatoon.

I didn't realize gamers were such chatty kathy's. Buncha sewing circle grandma's gossiping during their video games. Good grief. I bet they barely use it. It's like the little baby who doesn't want to play with the toy until you take it away.
@freedomfreak: one day, one day. What i dont get is pokemon can have voice chat but this cant. I hate voice chat but can see the benefits of the option.
Back to... W101..
I won't get this for $60, $20 on the other hand... if it bombs, it'll probably be $20 or less by end of year, at which point I may pick it up, and for that price it'll be worth it. Then again, I'd also need reassurance that people are still online playing it.

Not likely. Its sales worldwide are increasing. Its rising in the ranks on Amazon since the test fire beta.

Try to paint me as a Nintendo-only fanboy all you want, but you know that's not the truth by any stretch. If it makes you feel better to pretend that is reality then feel free to continue telling lies.
I didn't paint you as anything, nor did I lie. You told me you are "glad" it's not included, even though it would make gamers like me happy and wouldn't affect you in any way. The only conclusion to be drawn is that you are doing the nasty fanboy "circle the wagons!" defend all Nintendo's crap at any cost.
TI could see the need for voice chat in a Rainbow Six game
I don't care what you "see the need for". You'll only "see the need" for what Nintendo provides anyway.
Acting like everybody uses it for significant gains all the time is nonsense.
I never said that either. So YOU can stop lying. I just want to chat to my friends while playing a team based game. Nintendo won't let me, and you are maliciously "glad" at that fact. Creepy.

lol right? Just like the gamepad, you gotta play it to understand it. After playing it, I saw exactly why you didn't need voice chat.

Oh stop it, even if the game had chat voice you'd find a million other reasons not to buy it.
When you want something you want it, warts and all.

You fanboys will abandon this position the second Nintendo introduce it.
Like HD graphics (graphics don't matter -> OMG HD MARIO!), online shooters (Halo and COD are boring garbage for kiddies -> OMG THE CONDUIT!), regular controller (motion controls are the future, lol at old PS/Xbox pads -> OMG CLASSIC CONTROLER PRO, BEST FOR SMASH!), media content (consoles are for gaming, lol at media boxes -> OMG NETFLIX!), you'll do a complete about face as soon as Nintendo introduce it and then act like it was always great.
I'm in awe of Nintendo's ability to maintain such quasi - religious devotion, I think I'd rather try to talk an ISIS executioner out of beheading me then get a rabid Sheep to admit voice chat would improve this game. Even the Halo fanboys admitted MCC was broken crap.

I don't ask every game to be like every other game. Would super mario galaxy has been amazing in HD? Hell yeah. Am I going to miss out on a great game simply because it's not HD? Hell no. I accept a game for what it is. And I had a PS3 and a 360 so i wasn't missing out just because I enjoyed a few choice games on the Wii.
If Splatoon gets chat I'm going to shrug my shoulders and keep playing it. And you'll continue not buying it because voice chat is just an excuse. You'll find another one soon after.
Call me a fanboy all you want. I always end up buying all the consoles once they get a game I really want.

I was 100% positive about this game before the lack of voice chat came out.
I refuse to support their backwards crap, same as I refused to buy Evolve (too much DLC), AC Unity (too broken), etc. Stop buying warty games and the warts will go away.
@locopatho: one person = Everyone who likes Nintendo. Generalisation FTW. Dude most people agree with you that its dumb who are Sheep.

There's nothing warty about splatoon. You want it to have a feature it does not have. That's not the same as DLC or a game being broken.
And this is the FIRST I've ever seen anyone use voice chat as a reason not to buy a game. I guess when it's Nintendo thats when it's time to dog pile on any tiny little thing.

Pretty much. At least with Bayonetta 2 people admitted the truth and said that the reason they hate it is because its not on their system.
Saying sheep are the worst fanboy group and comparable to ISIS?
Never said that either. I said they are the most devout, which is hella true.
Anywho, I didn't really mean "i'm glad it doesn't have vc" I just meant that's a personal preference, so it came out wrong.
The more features the better, I agree, but after playing for hours I just believe vc isn't as essential as some are claiming.
And this is the FIRST I've ever seen anyone use voice chat as a reason not to buy a game.
BECAUSE EVERY OTHER GAME AND DEVELOPER HAS HAD VOICE CHAT FOR A FUCKING DECADE NOW!
league of legends, heroes of the storm? yeah every game for over a decade.....

Every PC game has voice chat in every game.

Well thank goodness everyone refused to play those games because of this oh so important feature. And they sent a clear message to the devs that no one will play this game without their beloved voice chat.
Yeah that totally happened.

Yes because every (modern) PC can run voice chat programs in addition to games, so every game has voice functionality whether in game or out. WiiU won't let you do that

Nope. Those games do not have in-game voice chat.
Hence they are evil and no one plays them. Those games are worse than hitler. I'm just glad the PC community boycotted them. And now they games lay in ruin because voice chat-less games will not be tolerated.
2 free 2 play games vs a 60 dollar game
2 games on a platform that has things like Mumble, google hangout, skype vs a platform that doesn't
2 games on a platform where you can communicate using a keyboard vs a platform where you can't communicate in any other manner
Not an apples to apples comparison.
I love this whole "you guys won't admit thing" coming from the crowd that has gone out of their way to apologize and not accept that Nintendo has delivered less than the standard for this type of game from a feature standpoint.
Well Splatoon is that good that it doesn't need voice chat to succeed. That's how good it is. I miss the game already. Going to be a long wait until 5/29.
I don't think people understand Splatoon is NOT MEANT TO BE COD or for the COD audience. Think more mario party/smash/kart and less halo/uncharted/whatever else people are playing online these days.

It's a multiplayer game where you shoot people. A game where you play online.
There is a way to speak to your teammates in other shooters (which is what this game is), in other racing games (which is what Mario kart is), in other fighting games (which is what smash is), and shit these days mini game collections (which is what Mario Party is).
There is no defense for this feature not being there
-hur durr i don't like to listen to children - mute button exists, stfu
-hur durr this isn't aimed at the CoD audience - you don't need to like CoD to appreciate convenience features that are genre/product standards at this point, stfu
-hur durr you don't like nintendo - still wouldn't change the part that the person can make a criticism that is objective and valid, stfu
Otherwise no one said anything about this game doesn't have killstreaks, this game doesn't have mechs, this game doesn't have vehicles, this game doesn't have a 100 guns, this game doesn't have bubble shields, this game doesn't have a ski mechanic, this game doesn't have strafe jumping, this game doesn't launch pads, no one knocked it for missing gameplay mechanics from other games. It's being knocked for a basic ass feature and recently barely any fucking content on launch day.
These are not up to opinion or "oh this doesn't bother me", that is objectively doing less than the standard. You are arguing against a fact.
