I don't think people understand Splatoon is NOT MEANT TO BE COD or for the COD audience. Think more mario party/smash/kart and less halo/uncharted/whatever else people are playing online these days.
It's a multiplayer game where you shoot people. A game where you play online.
There is a way to speak to your teammates in other shooters (which is what this game is), in other racing games (which is what Mario kart is), in other fighting games (which is what smash is), and shit these days mini game collections (which is what Mario Party is).
There is no defense for this feature not being there
-hur durr i don't like to listen to children - mute button exists, stfu
-hur durr this isn't aimed at the CoD audience - you don't need to like CoD to appreciate convenience features that are genre/product standards at this point, stfu
-hur durr you don't like nintendo - still wouldn't change the part that the person can make a criticism that is objective and valid, stfu
Otherwise no one said anything about this game doesn't have killstreaks, this game doesn't have mechs, this game doesn't have vehicles, this game doesn't have a 100 guns, this game doesn't have bubble shields, this game doesn't have a ski mechanic, this game doesn't have strafe jumping, this game doesn't launch pads, no one knocked it for missing gameplay mechanics from other games. It's being knocked for a basic ass feature and recently barely any fucking content on launch day.
These are not up to opinion or "oh this doesn't bother me", that is objectively doing less than the standard. You are arguing against a fact.
LOL wrong right off the bat.
It's a multiplayer game where you shoot paint on the landscape. Shooting other players even has the added effect of covering the area in your color when they explode. Killing the enemy is not your primary goal in splatoon.
YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS GAME. Move along. Go play whatever it is you play.
