[QUOTE="Shensolidus"]Hey AlienSolidier your right, MANDATORY installs aren't allowed in the 360. But the review clearly states it was an optional thing that if done, would bump the 360 version near the PS3 version. Normally I would think a review like this is fake, but judging by how quickly the site went down (less than an hour after being posted) and that it was legally threatened, i'm judging that the review is indeed legit.
Now to see if these are experiences other reviews share are factors that shall be seen.
therealmcc0y
You think its real?
Thats wishful thinking, but the PS3 version isnt going to be better
You never know.
The review is definitly legit, but it is probably outdated. See in that excerpt where he says his review versions were dated 2/21/08? The game has probably undergone some changes since, probably to the 360 version. Then again it is hard to tell.
From a technical stand point, the things he claims in the review make perfect technical sense. Having the game only run off a disc (DVD9 at that) would cause more technical issues to such an open world game, especially if the game does not have to be installed on the HDD. However, he did state that it was optional to install it on the HDD, something which increased the 360 performance to almost PS3 levels.
While I find it surprising, I know that alot of people here will remain 'skeptical' on the matter. Either way, its alright for 'cows' if their version is technically better cause 360 users still get the DLC.
R* is very secretive about their titles and hold all details close to chest, seeing them go after this review doesn't change anything. The biggest showcase to this guy's review will be the one big, unannounced detail that he slipped. Split-screen on PS3. Not all details are out on GTA4, they haven't shown a full on shot of the HUD yet. This could very well be true.
here is a short recap:
9.3 out of10

I dont believe that at all. The way the guy presents himself is very unprofessional and seems very fake to me. With the way he acts I dont see how they would send him a Review copy, and if true also he broke the law by releasing a review before the likely embargo is lifted. Not to mention he says you can install the 360 version, but since when can you do that?

Remeber when MS announced games for the 360 that required you to have a hard drive with enough space? Could GTA 4 be the first game like this for the 360?
The 360 also suffers from some frame rate drops that are almost non-existent on the PS3. Installing the 360 version on your system's hard drive, however, will bring performance almost up to par with the PS3.
Always-Honest
Two thoughts when I read that....
1. If the underlined is true, I will be buying it on PS3
2. I question this man because "installing on the 360 verison....." wait, what. Installing on the 360? That's either a new option that GTA is using or this guy has no idea what he's talking about with that.
This may still be true. Nowhere does he say you HAVE to install it, which wouldn't make it mandatory. If this is true though, I am SO getting it for PS3:D-Sniper99-
yeah.. in fairness.. there is not much we can say for sure now.. i have a weird feeling about this to..but i can't say for sure it's all true or all a lie.. nor can't anybody else for now.. we can guess....
[QUOTE="Dante865"]I was suprised, this is gonna be awesome
- PS3 more realistic colors.
- 360 version BLOOM like no tomorrow.
- More vehicles and pedestrians in PS3 version.
- 360 version looks like cartoon.
- Textures practically identical.
- 360 version has jaggies and suffers framerate drops.
- PS3 multiplayer has splitscreen.
- 360 cant handle splitscreen. If this is true, Lemming are gonna go apespit!
mingo123
lol seriously 360 version is alot inferior to ps3 if all that is true
The review said nothing about jaggies on the 360, but it sounds like the PS3 version is a tiny bit better.
 Lems will not be happy....

I believe this article disproves that "review". This guy was allowed to go review the game from rockstar on MARCH 26th. The likely chance of him playing it a whole month before high profile reviewers is close to nil. Not to mention he would of had to go to Rockstar and play it there because they are not going to ship out copies, otherwise they risk the game being leaked a month ahead of schedule.
"This site has been removed at the advice of legal council. 167,926"
mean fake or real?
CossackNoodle
Could be either. It could of been removed due to the fact that releasing a review right now would get him sued since there is an embargo. Or it could be removed due to it being false and misleading. Though what I posted above leads me to believe its a false review.
I personally believe the review was fake... but had it been, he said the 360 version was better, everyone would have said the review was real.
Also there are reports of 360 fanboys threatening his life. how sad, over a videogame.

Anyone that thinks that "review" is real... Should have gullible tattooed on their head.
There is a reason why the 360 version is almost always showcased and has been since we seen the very first pictures. You only rarely here anyone that got to play the PS3 version... Now why do you think that is?

The PS3 and 360 versions are going to be the same, only fanboys can 'see' the 'different', that is only in their head.
The only thing that will be different is the DLC.
Actually, Kotaku has a video of some reviewer, with a review copy, putting the game into a PS3 and showing it loading up the beginning of the game. It was on Youtube for a lil while but got taken down. That proves that people had it back in Feb.Shensolidus
Actually, yeh, I saw that. It seemed like a legit intro in all fairness.
FAKE! Both versions will be fairly identical. However if you do not want to risk being unable to finish your game because your 360 just RRoD'd I'd suggest picking up the PS3 version. :lol:Amnesiacx
could very well be fake. but do you know for sure?.... no

The 360 has been the lead platform for the entire development. GTA4 was delayed for 6 months in the first place mainly because the PS3 version was behind in development and they needed to get it up to par. Knowing this, does anyone really believe that all that stuff is remotely true?
The "reviewer" also wrote "if the page count reaches 500,000...". Guy's obviously an attention whore.

If this is true. I will wait a half year for the PC version. I just can't afford myself a PS3 at the moment, even though I would love to have one.
I have mine pre-ordered for the 360 version. And if that appears to be true. Especially the ''More vehicles and pedestrians in PS3 version'' then I will be slightly dissapointed.
Its a multiplatform game. Its supposed to be identical. I call fake on this one. At least I hope so.

I wouldn't worry about it. The guy was just trying to rile people up and get attention. Lack of pedestrians and cars on the streets would have nothing to do with Blu-Ray, anyway. That's a RAM limitation, and amusingly enough, the PS3 has less of it than the 360.
Someone has already played it and beaten it in 24 hours..
i was hoping it would be longer, shame really.

That's not quite what he said:
In terms of the time it takes to finish, how does it compare with others in the series?
That's a hard question to answer really. I finished the story mode in 24 hours, without skipping cut scenes, but I literally blitzed through and hardly took on any side missions. If I was to play it again (which I will be, right on launch day!) I'd say to wrap up the story will take at least 40 hours at a normal pace, plus another – say, 25? – to wrap up the remainder of the missions. In truth though, you could be paving the streets of Liberty City in a year's time and still not have discovered everything. Plus, if you're a 360 owner, there's the promise of downloadable content to come...My advice is: just kick back, take your time and breathe every fresh sight and sound in, don't simply rush through just to finish it before your mates. I wish I'd had that optionGamesRadar
He purposefully rushed through it because he had to.

i wasn't insinuating anything.. i just posted a review... and i said i thought it was weird in multiple posts. so.. no. all i said is that we couldn't know. there were paople that said it was fake..but they were guessing. now we know it's fake.

Well saying he rushed through it kind of puts me off, as it speaks out to me that the game is probably not that difficult in that sense.

Here's what he had to say about that:
How hard did you find it, playing it under so much pressure? Did you die a lot?
Definitely. It's funny, I actually had another colleague in the room with me, who also got real close to finishing. We were always comparing stats though, and I think I'd died 40-odd more times than he had by the end of the game. And failed, like, 50 missions! So I think in my rush to get through the game my skills let me down once or twice(!) The pressure to plough through as much as humanly possible did get irritating at times – especially when you get stuck on a certain mission – but you want to soak in as much atmosphere for your readers, cover as much ground as possible... all while taking over 4000 words worth of notes on a nearby laptop! It was the ultimate mix of fun and high pressure.Games Radar

Hmm well not bad then, i think they made it easier though since you dont have to go anywhere to save.. & no pay & spray
so i suppose they did cut down a little on the difficulty, unless the new wanted system works well
