on the DLC tip:

i have a feeling that the DLC will be massive. i cannot think of a single game where Rockstar has not given gamers 10 times their money's worth. if the DLC is 15 dollars, i imagine that it will produce 15 hours of single player gameplay, and way more multiplayer. i hope so anyway

I can live without character and vehicle customization, I can live without swimming underwater, I can just barely live without planes and pedal bikes, but I cannot live without the parachute. Especially in such an urban environment which is perfect for base jumping off of skyscrapers instead of taking the stairs. Someone please put my fears to rest and tell me that the parachute is in the game.microwavedapple

You cant swim in this game?!?! I never knew that! so if you fall into water, you die again? awww man! and I need sombody to answer this, if you get shot or wounded, can you actually see the wounds and blood on your body? Cause in some screenshots I see Niko all bloody.. but I'm not too sure

Yeah, you can swim on the surface, just not underwater. This, with other things, is a step back for the series. Good job that so many other things leaped forward, though.

I can live without character and vehicle customization, I can live without swimming underwater, I can just barely live without planes and pedal bikes, but I cannot live without the parachute. I understand your gripes, but you have to understand Rockstar's view as well. They're aiming for a much more realistic GTA than the past ones. How realistic would it be if a guy like Niko was dressing up as a pimp or parachuting out of helicopters for thrills? That's just too far removed from his character.

It's still going to be GTA in some ways; you still get a rocket launcher and can go crazy with it, and such. But there had to remove some of the other excessive things so as not to compromise the character too much.

That's literally what the Saints Row 2 devs have said. That since GTA4 is going the realistic route, they're going to go even more over-the-top than ever before. I expect to be able to do a lot of crazy stuff in SR2.

I mean jeez, they actually have Gary Busey doing the Saints Row 2 promos. Volition has quite clearly gone insane.

I am also a bit disappointed since I am not that type that gets really into the story mode but rather just fool around with everything. But it sounds like there is not that much other stuff to do in this game but just be chased by cops and shoot people or do the the missions which are like shooting stuff and being chased by cops.BlizzardBear

I'm utterly F***ed. 360 just went down. Called up MS to send the coffin should get it some time next week but this is the worst time ever. I'll still be buying gta4 on day one but wont be able to play it til my fixed 360 arrives. I can not f'ing believe it. blues3531

There's a lot more than just the online MP though Blizzard, read through the OP in the gameplay section. There is literally heaps of new stuff you're gonna see in GTAIV.

Man, that sucks... but if you get it back next week then you haven't got anything to worry about. Hope you do... cause I've seen you post a lot in this thread meaning you must be a big GTA fan... and I think you'd probably go crazy about everyone else playing it when you're not. MS is supposedly pretty quick with this stuff though so you shouldn't have much to worry about.

Dunno.... Don't think they announced GTASA has multiplayer on the same screen til late on in the game.

If it does though, that will be totally awesome! one person riding on the back of the motorcycle with a katana :P ........... if only there was some way to prevent them accidently cutting off your head.................

I hear drugs make time pass by very quickly. I am seriously considering stockpiling some and then using them for the next 2 weeks because the anticipation right now is killing me. The question is, will I still be alive.................? :P

I have literally been playing a GTA game for at least 3 hours every day now for the last 14 days and all it is doing, is fueling my lust for this damn game!

Why'd this review come out two weeks early...I'm in the middle of exams and now I can't stop looking at these beautiful scans.

I truly hope this game gets a 10 on this site. I really can't see how it cant. Previous versions get a 9.6. This one online which is suppose to be great according to OXM and fixes most of the mistakes in previous installments.

Brawl didnt do anything better but scored a 9.5. I can't wait to see the Nintendo bias when GTA IV unfortunately gets a 9.

It wouldn't be like GTA without a robust set of radio stations, and they're all excellent: everything from ambient electronica to Elton John, Stevie Nicks to the Smashing Pumpkins - and of course the inimitable Lazlow. As ever, just having the right song come up mid-chase gives some unforgettable moments. Queen's One Vision mid-assassination was a particular highlight. Another great touch: you dial one of those song-recognition services to get track details texted to you.OXM UK
