I typed in Grand Theft Auto Cake into google and it actually came up with that. Someone gave their 4 year old a GTA cake. :lol:

I'm utterly ****ed. 360 just went down. Called up MS to send the coffin should get it some time next week but this is the worst time ever. I'll still be buying gta4 on day one but wont be able to play it til my fixed 360 arrives. I can not f'ing believe it. blues3531

Man, that sucks... but if you get it back next week then you haven't got anything to worry about. Hope you do... cause I've seen you post a lot in this thread meaning you must be a big GTA fan... and I think you'd probably go crazy about everyone else playing it when you're not. MS is supposedly pretty quick with this stuff though so you shouldn't have much to worry about.

Yea this is my goty 2008 and the most hyped ive been for a game since re4. Worst timing ever. I can't imagine reading all about it on this forum without being able to play it on day 1.

Yeah that whole "EA takeover" thing pissed me off cause I thought it might get delayed till Fall/Winter. But if you think about it how can they delay a game which has:

A) Delayed once already from Oct.19>April 29

B) Will be one of the greatest games for years to come

C) Is now 15 days from release.

I was (and still am) afraid that they might delay it, but theres just too many obstacles that EA would face.

yeah well gta as we know it originated on ps2. i love it when people try to be all elitist and claim just cuz the 2d top down gta's were on pc that it really makes a difference.

And yes it was very popular on the PC platform, it really broke with the casual market on the PlayStation however.

The review was from an XBOX magazine so it stated 360 was the best, but made no mention of why. I have to think that these titles will be almost equal.

Agreed. I took the review (concerning XBOX version being better) with a grain of salt. I will buy the 360 version for the dlc but one day 1, these games will be practically identical.

All OXM said in the review is that the 360 version is the best version because of the DLC, which is exactly what everybody else has been saying, including everyone in this forum (except some cows). Every review except PSN is going to mention the DLC as a bonus for the 360 version.

1) This is OXM UK, not OXM US

2) OXM UK are the same guys who gave Halo 3 a 9/10 when many others gave it higher (their scale would've allowed them to give it a 9.5, but they didn't)

3) GTAIV is a multiplat generally recognized by the casual public as a Playstation franchise

Given all that, I'm strongly doubting that this was a biased review. I think the game is just that damn good. I expect lots of 10/10's. I predicted a while back, before this review, that IGN would give it at least a 9.8/10 based on what they said in the latest podcast.

Time for the longest two weeks ever.

Lol, yeh. the full story is, I temporarily moved back home from university where I have a house and 4 other housemates and that is where I left my PS3 and Xbox 360. Anyhoo, for reasons which I cba to explain, I'm getting a job back home but all my stuff is still at uni so I ordered GTA to go to my uni house and told my housemates that, if any of them open the game before I get there on the 7th, I will remove both my consoles from the house and, next year, when I get back, I'll keep them in my room instead of the living room if they even so much as tamper with the packaging for GTA4. On top of that, I am taking a three day break before I start work to go back to Nottingham and it will just be spend with me in front of the HDTV playing GTA all day and all night for three days straight! The saddest part is having to let go of it when I have to come back home after the three days :cry:

They didn't "give it a higher score". They gave it a 10/10 because they think it's a 10/10 game on any platform. They had a small panel off to the side, on one of the *9 pages* of the review, that talked about the 360 version getting DLC in August.

That's literally the only thing they wrote in the entire review as a difference between the two versions, and it was never even brought up in the main text of the review.

Either that or they decide to cut out certain missions or cut down on the violence ill be peeved.

If its just a hooker lending her services, well I can live with that.

Either way ill be getting the PC version later, and applying an 'undedited patch'.
