While the PS5 version looks better. The Switch 2 version is nonetheless quite impressive.

Diminishing returns on better specs is quite noticeable.

Found another PS5 vs NS2 comparison. Again, the NS2 does look worse. But it looks far better than its specs might suggest.

The extra fidelity on the PS5 Pro vs NS2 is not something I am likely to even notice while playing.

@Maroxad: Yeah, these games are looking quite good on the Switch 2 and these are early days. Things will get even better as devs get more acquainted with the hardware.

Yeah. It is possible the Switch 2 port will look better on launch, considering this took just 7 weeks to make.

Furthermore, if I were to play the Switch 2 Version, and then the PS5 Pro version. I wouldnt be able to tell the difference. If you asked me afterwards. You pretty much have to show me a direct image comparison for me to say the PS5 Pro version looks better.

The same probably goes for PC too.

If Nintendo does what they are saying (variable pricing per game), the Switch 2 deserves a hard flop.

If you spend $80 - $120 on a Mario game, you're a chump; plain and simple.

Doug Bowser will never be Reggie, at least Reggie can convinced the heads of Nintendo what needs to be done for the success of Nintendo consoles and handhelds. Doug Bowser seems to only be taking orders and not allowing any input. Reggie would tell Furukawa that $80 for Mario Kart is not going to be given a good response as well charging $10 for a tech demo. Yeah, I see why people are comparing Bowser to Mattrick, however, Switch 2 has something worth buying over being a VCR media player w/Kinect shoehorned

I wish I could make a brand like Nintendo. The fans will defend everything even an updated $70, 8 year old game that will not include expansion packs.

F*ck China! Plus, Nintendo has to use some sort of vessel to sell their product, only to get their patent stolen for cheap knockoffs be sold outside their country.

If I'm reading charts correctly, the Switch 1 sold only a few million units in China - like it was only around 3% of the total hardware sales.

So it seems like the Switch 2 could lose China and it won't affect their bottom line at all.

Pretty much, due to how much grip China has in their economy and treat their own products at a higher priority, hence why the gaming market is dominated by PC gaming.

Not including the dlc with the game when you rerelease it like this is just blatant greed. Disgusting.

At this point BOTW should be classified as GOTY and should include all DLC. That's just pure greed on Nintendo's part.

As a gamer who have long supported Nintendo's systems and games, I have decided not to purchase the Switch 2 and its games until the company changes its ways. I can at least wait until next year to see whether the situation changes, but if not, I may as well skip this console as I did with the Nintendo 64.

Indeed, Nintendo has let their success get to their head. Very disappointed. 8 years later and they don't even give you game with the DLC for $70.

Tbh nintendo just showing why they can charge $90-120 per game in the early 90's. When nintendo dominates they becomes absolutely greedy fks. PS1 came and introduced the $50 standard price and destroyed nintendo dominance.

Now that Nintendo is back in their greedy ways I hope new important players comes to the portable scene and try to distrupts the market again. Who knows Sega might comes back... or even atari!

Nah, I know what I am getting. PS4 levels of horsepower with a more "modern" architecture (ampere).

I am already disappointed though, the leap from Gen 8 to gen 9 was underwhelming.

Your calling gamers fickle because Nintendo doesn't release strong hardware and just now released a console much weaker than the Series S at 2x the price?...

I genuinely believe Nintendo fanboys are fickle by definition saying they don't care about graphics or ports but then try to pass the Switch 2 of as monster and talking about ports which are running worse than any current generation console in terms of visuals and framerates... And when pressed on the point basically pull what you and the user above you responded with.

I don't know what you guys are trying to accomplish by trying to convince people that the Switch 2 is powerful when its clearly running games on par with a Steam deck and other handhelds... Which do not give a great experience in AAA games, 1080p low 30fps, which DF has already mention with Hogwarts running at 720p and looking barely better than a PS4 version.

From the visuals I have been looking into 3rd party games, maybe you should get your eyes checked because most of what they have shown has better visuals than the Series S and almost near parity of the PS5. Not sure how you think it's not nearly the Steam Deck and digital foundry doesn't know squat

I honestly don't know why we should be discussing Switch 2 vs Steam Deck as both gaming devices are doing different on their own, not each other. Let's cut the act here. Buying Switch 2 should be for the exclusives and that's it. PC, Steam Deck (or PS5/Xbox Series) should be for everything else.

Its missing DOF, Shadows, and is running lower resolution than Series S.

Some claiming that NSW2 is like XSS because Street Fighter 6 looks better on NSW2 is dumb. Just as a reminder, PS4 version of Street Fighter 6 also looks better than on XSS.

Not to mention that the Series S has a 1440p 30FPS quality mode in Cyberpunk and a 60FPS 1080p mode which run flawless now after patch 2.2.

Where as the Switch has one mode a 40FPS 1080p mode with resolution scaling in handheld where DF measured 540p at worst in the footage they have seen.

And all we have is cutscene footage and it still can't maintain 1080p in handheld.
