The Wii Gets Too Much Hate and To Be Honest, Its Getting Pretty Ridiculous.

the only reason the wii is getting so much hate is because its on the top. to be honest, i want to sell mine and get a ps3(ZOMG I WANT TO GET A PS3) because i can still play games that are good, have dlc and have FREE online. Yeah, FREE online. something that microsoft doesn't have. FREE online.

there are very few good games and the rest is shovelware. It infuriates me when people buy stuff like big brain academy rather than fire emblem radiant dawn or okami-and both are less than $50. maybe if nintendo and other companies actually put interesting things on it then i would play it more often. instead my pc and my ds have about 500X more action then my wii alone.

and even worse? I have to put up with more casual crap because nintendo is rolling in the dough. Stuff like disaster or captain rainbow wont be released here, oh no, instead we get wii sports resort. screw you, nintendo of america. at least NoJ is putting out stuff like Rhythm Tengoku Gold.

Big Brain Academy isn't a bad game, I find them to be quite entertaining. Some people may not like to buy Fire Emblem, which is just a matter of taste. Same reason you find Big Brain Academy and Wii Sports Resort to be shovelware.

Wii Sports Resort is created by Nintendo of Japan, their American division just localizes it and we America is supposed to be getting a Rhythm Tengoku game.

It's because for the first time in the history of the industry the highest selling console has the least number of AAA's and AA's.

Up until this generation the console that has been the sales winner has had by far the most AAA and AA releases. For the Wii, the opposite is true, and it confuses and angers people.

There's your answer.

Put away your fanboy glasses andf for one moment imagine that the PS2 sold as much as it did but had LESS AAA's and AA's then either the GC or the XBox. Don't you think the PS2 would've gotten a large amount of hate? Don't you think that would've affected how it was remembered? Of course.

That would be a fair comparison if the Wii entered this generation as the favored console, like the PS2 was... Most of the early AAA's and AA's were likely planned for the PS2 because the PS1 dominated as heavily as it did... Nobody really expected te Wii to sell well, and now that it has, maybe it will start to see that high-quality support.

Some people want to argue that Wii is in a direct competition with the PS3 and 360, and as long as that happens the Wii will be over-shadowed in almost all aspects of gaming, from acclaimed games, to online play, to graphics. The few things that Nintendo set out to do with the Wii (Be a revolution in the game industry and make a new way of playing games) has failed for the most part, only creating a different way of playing but essentially doing the same thing every other system is capable of.

If you're going to use and accept terms like "shovelware", "crap", use other "low based forms", and then damn the Wii for having the games you deemed in that label, when your system has them too, then you cannot apply another double standard. You cannot start using levels to differentiate cause you already set that level as damning. It's all evil and immoral by default.

@ Scorpion88057 -- I forgot about the fact that GameSpot is slow for reviews and news on Wii-related items, thats why I made that sticky thread using the IGN reviews. I tried to use gamespot reviews but for many games they didn't have many. But I certainly agree with you. Haziqonfire

I'd take Super Mario Galaxy over any game on PS2. No game on PS2 became an instant classic like Super Mario Galaxy did for me. FFX was close, but not quite. Rogue Galaxy was close, but not quite. The Persona games were close, but not quite.

In terms of gaming, how do you differentiate playing halo 4 co-op to wii music? Which would you choose and why would choose it? It could be dependent on your life**** like am into my cars and i like my racing games playing with my friends. Sometimes what you play shows what your interested in.

Maybe you should 'man up' and stop trying to save the princess over and over again. Or do you play racing games, or shooters? Because they kinda are games like that on 360 and ps3.

All i see coming from you is a nintendo fanboy. I can tell you one thing, ive sure have played nintendo games than you, and the route they have taken now, is different to how they used to. The gc is still better than the wii, even if it has the wiimote.

My point is, wii is not that great, out of the three. Sales dont necessarily mean its the perfect console to own. And am bored with my wii and i hope for a REAL nintendo console that delivers an all round system. At least sony and microsoft have the balls to loose some money on each console they make.

I purchased a wii at launch, it has not had a good game in all of 2008 i played all the games that appealed to me and then i sold it a lil while ago, i hate a system that made me pay 250 dollars for it and then more for a few games then caused me to sell it for 150 dollars and all around i made only 70% of my money back i researched the system and have liked nitendo systems in the past but the wii is a shovel ware system simple as that with no hope of any good games except from 1st party and even those are becomming shovel ware *wii music wii sports, wii play..ect*

I was under the assumption that i would be getting good games but nintendo has decided that to make shovel ware and let shovel ware go onto the system OFTEN pretty much all the time, and i hate the system for that.

It's been proven in this forum that the first 2 years of the PS2 had a greater number of high quality games than the current wii library.

Sales matter but they don't make great games or systems. Although they can make games with bigger budgets (which isn't necessarily better).
