The Wii Gets Too Much Hate and To Be Honest, Its Getting Pretty Ridiculous.

Anyone here owning a wii only console and over 18 here needs to rethink what gaming is all about.

Its clear most people here love their wii so much to deny that the wii is primarily a casual console, ie the ones mothers and middle age women to toddlers play.

Wii is selling like hotcakes, too bad the amount of games releasing are not as hot.

At the start, wii was fun to play, especially with friends. But the fad dies away quickly and your playing alone collecting stars and waving the wiimote..catch my drift.

In terms of gaming in general, the isnt helping much. I dont think developers dont put in the effort much as long as it sells.

Anyways, this is system wars, defend your console as much as you like, is only showing that your desperate, have less games to play, and justifying your purchase.

Nintendo should 'man up' and use the money theyve gained to make a REAL next gen console at the likes that tell crysis, halo and killzone users to move aside.

So you whent to everyone house that owns a wii and saw there collection of games than look at ps3 and 360 gamers and saw more? again opioion base with not facts. Myself I would say "don't bother".

This absolute bordering on racist level of hate is going to keep going on throughout the Wii's lifetime on this "double-standard", (give an example of a game and the rebuttal has an answer for everything even if an example is given) "pro-American", and "anti-Japanese" board. (remembering reading past threads on WRPG vs JRPG) Which is where the hate is really stimming from at the end of the day. That's if the Wii is not ignored on the board.

It's why I hardly ever visit this site and why it keeps getting less and less visits from me even though I'm posting this first time.

The lagging of Wii reviews compared to other systems as indicated in the anticipated games of 09 thread in Wii forums hightlights that for me. (TC uses IGN for info) The other thing that points is news specific to a system but unrelated w/other system bits get in. (See the analyst news concering Zelda possibly 09 on the front page of this site to see GTA being meshed in)

For the folks about to one side me into the Wii column there are the 360, PS3, Wii, and 4 PCs in this household. I've also been around since days like Legacy of the Ancients on C64.

For the folks saying we're taking System Wars too seriously I think a site trying to divide gamers is part of the problem of the gaming community itself these days. A "War" for System Wars should actually be done professionally. Maybe professional reviewers should be pitted against themselves instead. Certainly more intelligent or constructive discussions should prevail.

Who knows though? Maybe some of the games or controls are too challenging for the haters either physically/gaming wise? I know I don't want to be locked into a gamepad/keyboard & mouse throughout gaming existence and someone had to try to move forward in the control scheme somewhere.

I'm going to enjoy Dragon Quest: Masked Queen & Tower of Mirrors, No More Heroes on Wii, Neverwinter Nights 2, Sacred 2 on PC, Kingdom Under Fire on 360, and Silent Hill: Homecoming on PS3 even if 360spot and the community doesn't think I should.

I'm going to rent Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn from Gamefly even though most of the reviewers think it does have punishing difficulty. I'm going to have fun.

Ultimately on graphics I read the same garbage complaints about PS3 games. Why are the PS3 and the Wii the only system that get to have this double standard? Why is the 360 immune?

Most of my opinions are based on facts. And a part of me feels sorry for you, dont you wanna be more than fully satisfied and if you like a certain genre, you will find it on the ps3 or 360 or even the pc.

And another thing am trying to prove that its not all about the wii neither it is the best console just because mario lives on and going strong and it sells.

Rightfully so, Wii is a cheap piece of garbage of a gaming console.. Wait not gaming console. A toy. It deserves all the hate it's being getting. Hopefully the gimmick will die off some day. Heck maybe even Nintendo will die off. This console kills quality. It's the very definition of crap. The laughable thing is, it sells. Crap is selling people. I wouldn't be surprised if sheep where still waiting for a half decent game to come all the way through 2009. What sheep need to understand(the sheep that are actually still real gamers.) is that Nintendo don't care about you anymore. You are an annoyance in there plans to destroy the gaming industry. They will spoon feed you to shut you up every now again.. The main focus is on the non gamers. The people that like playing crappy shovelware titles. Killzone 2 gets so much hate because cows have continuously pelted the forum with hype for the game since its freakin reveal in 2005. If/ when the gaame flops it gonna be a great time for system wars because a) so much ownage will be dished out and b) because we won't have to here about it afterwards. First I'm not a sheep. Second if you can't see why KZ 2 gets hate, its not worth arguing about. Third, I'm all for CRITISISM based off a consoles faults, I am not however for blind hate with no reason, like what you and many others in this thread are doing.

Kill Zone 2 doesn't deserve all the hate it's getting...just as Wii doesn't either. The reason people like to hate on PS3 and it's games so much is because Sony fan boys seem to do the most trash talking imo both on this forum and in real life......almost all my friends who are Sony fan boys trash talk everything Nintendo or Microsoft every chance they get, they wouldn't be caught dead owning a Wii or 360 :roll: . People like to hate on Nintendo because they are winning and they don't have a great FPS line-up.

I really like the Wii, but unfortunately I've stopped getting games for it. Here's a list of all the games I have:

Mario Kart Wii
Metriod Prime 3: Corruption
Wii Fit
Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition

So, basically, I own all the games I'll ever own for the Wii, it seems. All the major Nintendo Franchises (Mario, Zelda, SSB, Mario Kart, Metriod) have been covered, so unless (very unlikely) Nintendo releases another Mario on the Wii, the only other games for me to get is third party. Now, let's be honest here, 90% of the 3rd party development on the Wii so far (with some significant exceptions) have been nothing but shovelware. No, I don't want Animal Crossing. I certainly don't want to actually spend MONEY on Hannah Montana, except to break the DVD in half, spit on it, and mail it back to her.

So while I don't hate the Wii, I am worried that there aren't going to be any games that interest me in the future. And if that's the case, once I'm done playing all the games I already have on the Wii, it's likely I'll sell the console as I would have no further use for it.

The problem is all I see is blind hate, you are one of the few who actually has valid complaints against the Wii and I actually understand why you don't like the console or the software. This thread was more aimed at people saying 'it has nothing but shovelware' or something to that affect.Haziqonfire

Really though, I think that his point was super mario bros isn't the same type of accessible as wii music or brain training games.

the only reason the wii is getting so much hate is because its on the top. to be honest, i want to sell mine and get a ps3(ZOMG I WANT TO GET A PS3) because i can still play games that are good, have dlc and have FREE online. Yeah, FREE online. something that microsoft doesn't have. FREE online.

there are very few good games and the rest is shovelware. It infuriates me when people buy stuff like big brain academy rather than fire emblem radiant dawn or okami-and both are less than $50. maybe if nintendo and other companies actually put interesting things on it then i would play it more often. instead my pc and my ds have about 500X more action then my wii alone.

and even worse? I have to put up with more casual crap because nintendo is rolling in the dough. Stuff like disaster or captain rainbow wont be released here, oh no, instead we get wii sports resort. screw you, nintendo of america. at least NoJ is putting out stuff like Rhythm Tengoku Gold.

It's because for the first time in the history of the industry the highest selling console has the least number of AAA's and AA's.

Up until this generation the console that has been the sales winner has had by far the most AAA and AA releases. For the Wii, the opposite is true, and it confuses and angers people.

There's your answer.

Put away your fanboy glasses andf for one moment imagine that the PS2 sold as much as it did but had LESS AAA's and AA's then either the GC or the XBox. Don't you think the PS2 would've gotten a large amount of hate? Don't you think that would've affected how it was remembered? Of course.
