I would kill someone if I could play The Witcher 2 right now.

[QUOTE="lawlessx"]well of course in this case he's lying.. right general? Having that wheel in front of your face is a clear sign that consoles came first. Wheel = Analogue stick, don't you see the connection? Stop using the term "wheel" it's a hidden menu that you click on the individual icons, no different than it was in The Witcher 1 except the icons are now hidden.[QUOTE="devious742"]

I think some of you read more into this then there actually is.
When CD projekt said that the game was developed with consoles in mind what they meant was that it was developed first and foremost for the PC but with the "possibility" open to make a port. The engine can run on console hardware yes, but that doesn't mean a thing now does it? They could probably make it work on the iphone too.
Those screenshots represent graphics that console gamers won't experience till the next gen, and feel free to quote me on that.
I think the consoles will be able to pull off settings comparable to low with 720p and 30 fps. It won't look like crap but still worlds apart from the real deal.
^I do maintain higher frames, I guess it's my PC and the game. [QUOTE="The_Capitalist"]You're not the only one. i remember at the beginning of the third chapter, right after triss rescues you my game had had a glitch where her hair had for some reason flipped and made it look like she had a giant beard, and when she went to go seduce Geralt it was basically a "OH GOD" moment I still have nightmares about that cutscene.Holy...
Is it me, or does Triss look much hotter in this game than in the previous one?

[QUOTE="SkyWard20"][QUOTE="DragonfireXZ95"] Umm the previous games?DragonfireXZ95Umm, all the previous games were better than the Witcher? Umm, no they werent? Not in my opinion? Mass Effect on 360 got an 8.5, same as The Witcher if you go by scores. However, if the road continues on the way it has, ME3 won't even be an RPG. ME2 was barely an RPG already. And Skyrim? Well, if we are really expecting an amazing game from Bethesda... I don't know what to say. Especially after Oblivion, which was just crap.
The first Mass Effect got a 9.0 on PC here, and the second one got a 9.0 too. Mass Effect 2 is one of the highest rated Bioware games of all time, not going solely by Gamespot scores.
Bethesda does make great games and a lot of people are expecting amazing things from Bethesda. Fallout 3 was one of the best games I've ever played, and I've played almost all RPG's on the PC worth mentioning. What's up with this active Bethesda hate? Their games are AAA quality -- both the user and critic scores show that, especially here on GS, unlike the forums, apparently.

And that's why I ignore scores... Because for the most part, I completely disagree with them. Like the whole Call of Duty 9's thing. Fallout 3 was a bit better than Oblivion, but still pretty bad. The story sucked, the leveling system sucked. Most of the quests sucked, there was no real depth to them, and the world got rather boring after a while. I tried to play through again with mods, but it just wasn't worth it.[QUOTE="AdrianWerner"]considering there isn't really a console version atm? The engine is already running on consoles and they are testing it already, plus the interface is made with consoles in mind from day one as developers confirmed, so essentially the console version is ready
Lately they confirmed that visually will not be far behind PC as well, which is the best of news

The engine is working on consoles, the game isn't. There is no console version. They have one single coder keeping the code base console friendly and that's it. The whole focus is put into PC version. It's 100% PC game, they just had in mind possible console versions down the line so they made game that can be ported to consoles well . Wrong. Is isn't running on consoles.
A developer can just pop a disk in a console 'to see how it runs'.
They are hoping for a console deal but they have not got one yet. Perhaps if the PC version get good reviews they might get a contract to do a cheap and dirty port later on but given the fact that the first Witcher was cancelled for consoles (prob due to the PC engine not running well on console) a console publisher is unlikely to take a risk.
If on the other hand they do get a deal soon it will be bad news for the game, to make it sell on console they will have to make 'The Witcher for Dummies'. PC gamers don't want that.

From Gamespots daily demo, it was played with mouse and keyboard, and from what i saw, you can't just change your weapon with a hotkey, or chose another spell, what you need to do is, open up the wheel while the game goes in slow motion and select it.

Actually they have confirmed (the developers) that the game is already running and is tested on 360, they specifically said they take parts of the game and run it on xbox 360 for testing
So, it is definatly running on consoles, by what the developers have confirmed at least

In TW1 you could change spells with hotkeys, change stances, even if yod didnt use hotkeys you could just use the mouse pointer to select everything without oppening some stupid sub-menus.
Now all of that is gone because of obvious console design. They may be making a PC version first, but it has nothing to do with 100% PC game, because it's designed with consoles in mind, to be ported when they get all the fans money.
