There's a lot more in Witcher 2 than the first - decisions are paramount, you won't see all of the areas in the first playthrough (per CD Projekt RED).

And with something along the order of 16 different endings, that's a lot of data - they're going to have to trim a ton off of console game files just to make it work. Case-in-point: Dragon Age texture files were more detailed on the PC than the consoles, all due to RAM constrains of the consoles.

I honestly thought DA:O's combat was good when I played it...until around level 18-20. From then on out I was really freaking tired of it. Seriously I was getting p*ssed off having my rogue always go to the back of the targeted enemy to attack. I only finished that game cause the story, story telling, and characters were great. Loved the either/or options that had a big effect on the game. I would hate TW2 to play like DMC4. We have DA2 for that (Which I hope crashes and burns. If we really wanted to press a button and wait for something cool to happen, we'd be playing DMC games all the time.)

Have you played the first Witcher on PC? It would've ported pretty well to consoles with its combat. Combat looks way better from videos of TW2 so far though.

LOL, if you really think this game is going to be like DMC4, you have a big surprise on your hands.

EDIT: NVM, I read that wrong. That would be horrible if they did make it like DMC4, hack and slash games are so boring.

gt 220 is a bit weaker than the 8800gt. But you never know with "minimum requirments" games like just cause 2 require a 3870 minimum but i ran it just fine on med high with one. So hope for a demo and that their definition of minimum is laxferret-gamer

A GT 220 is much much weaker than an 8800gt.

An 8800gt is closer to a GTS 250 although slightly weaker.

But you're right about the PC requirements usually being inaccurate.

Like someone said in the demo presentation the guy was able to show the camera spanning across that environment.

He said everything you see you can go to, even the mountains.

It's not even closed to confirmed.

The Witcher 1 was confirmed for consoles with trailer footage and screenshots and yet it was canceled.

That game was in development for consoles for quite some time when The Witcher 2 hasn't even started development on consoles.

Ehh, as long as they just said menus it wouldnt bother me - thw Witcher didnt have you all that invested in gear/items - even the ingredients/alchemy was handled in that rest/alchemy screen; yet it was still a great game. as long as I hit 'J' for my journal etc. I'll be happy - less inputs the better I'd say.

Nah, i was a old member on Hip Hop Spot, a section of Boxden, a long time ago, that's were i got some smilies. I quit years ago though. Right now i just have tons of smilies in bookmarks, and self-made smilies, i use them since they manage to do a good job describing what i feel at any particular moment.

Game is designed to provide a entertaining factor, with this i mean a interesting world, goals, etc. I don't play it my self, but i am sure as hell not going to judge over 11 million players playing WoW. I played countless hours in SP games, and i don't regret one second of it. We don't have the right to judge what others are playing...

A guy doesn't 'waste' he's life playing he's prefered video game, but he's actually enjoying he's life. Life is short, why the need to fit in some people's stereotypical view of life? You don't live as others tell you to, you do what you wanna do. Live how you wanna live. That's one of the factors that define a strong mentality.

Average person's life is 80 years, i sure as hell know that even wen i'm 50, i got enough goals to achive in life.

It is up to the individual to control his life if he/she is addicted to a game. MMOs aren't the only games that take a person's life away. May I remind you of COD and Halo 3 of two years ago? I'm pretty sure MMOs "sucking" a persons life away is much better than taking a person's life away.

If I'm to see any pros with this, it would be the possible support of the 360 controller for the PC version. Which means I can relax in my bed and play it on my TV.

I almost can see why CDPR chose this direction in presenting their product.

In these types of conferences (as watched by IGN), the developers need to focus on hyping to where the money is at (I mean marketing, not about sales)... and unfortunately, PC gaming is almost excluded in this kind of presentation. Just compare the hype and atention received by a game like Dragon Age 2 (wich, at least for me, looks inferior to TW2 in every possible way), even here at Gamespot, where you get hype about it almost every week, because it's multiplatform.

It looked as if CDP was almost screaming and imploring to clarify that their game is coming to consoles as well, just to get attention that it deserves. But furthermore, they said to IGN: "We've been running some tests". And it's a very diferent thing than to say: "We're really developing it in all platforms".

I still have faith on it as a Pc Game, and I don't think it will be "dumbed down" in PC.
