Half LIfe 2, but only because i don't consider Metroid Prime a FPS.

That is something Ive never understood..its in FP and you shoot...so its actually a FPS.I played it and thought it was a FPS..
God of War is in 3rd person and you use melee attacks, but it isn't a fighting game, is it? If Metroid Prime was in 3rd person it would be called an action adventure. The perspective is what confuses people. First Person Shooters by their design are action games. Just with a perspective being the highlight feature to a lot of people. Metroid Prime is every bit an action game as a lot of FPS games, and the mixed hybrids like Deus Ex or System Shock 2. Hell Half Life 2 has plenty of elements that aren't strictly action(not necessarily good, but that's a different argument). There is nothing really wrong with considering Metroid Prime a first person shooter. Because of all intents and purposes it is. It just happens to have a lot of other elements highlighted in its game design beyond just shooting. And before I hear it. No the portal excuse doesn't work here. Portal is a puzzle game. The first person stuff just lent itself nicely to that type of puzzle gaming.
Metroid Prime has its fair share of action, and it's done through the first person perspective. That is what a FPS is down to its basics. Again it just has a heavier emphasis on exploration/environmental puzzle designs and stuff.
