Uncharted is overrated

After beating both, I don't know where people come up with engaging characters and masterful story. They both were stupid stories and the game has too many lapses in logic. I love how there are always ample gernade launchers and RPG's just laying around everytime Nate takes on a choper or how the main villains are cookie cutter bad guys. ND needs to stop because the characters are laughably generic...

I'm not a big fan of the series, but they're certainly fun. People need to stop calling every game overrated because this entire industry will have to be call overrated then.

Yeah he was probably the worst Uncharted character, as was Vulgan in MGS3. He isn't that important anyway though and the rest of the characters are great, mainly Elena being my favorite probably. But complaining about grenade launchers and such laying around...come on lol. What game doesnt do this kind of stuff? It isnt THAT bad, and there are plenty of games that are a bit more peculiar in their item placements or whatnot. Oh sweet I can now fit through perfect little holes becaue I have a morph ball that is JUST the right size...what a coincedence lol. Sometimes we have to throw those things to the side and love the game ;). Pretty sure link and Bond cannot carry all that they do, but I love that they can!

lol that IS true I will give you that ;). I stopped reading after he was complaining about stuff laying around for you to use conveniently because that is just an annoying complaint :P. But yes you are both right that he was not the best villain. It never bothered me really though as he just felt like a necessary evil and not an important character really.

Being an avid gamer I'm going to have to humbly disagree. Uncharted was a good beginning and UC 2 was excellent at everything it did. It had a fantastic, entertaining story, deep characters, strong, balanced gameplay, solid mechanics, strong multiplayer, etc. XEviscerateX

Uncharted 1 was a good game, but it did have some rough spots and could get borong, especially in the middle of te game. Howrver, that being said, Uncharted 2 deserved every award that it recievedWadeFan

Uncharted is not overrated. It deserves the praise it gets and much more. Both were awesome.

The score is fitting, it's just the praise it gets is a bit over rated.

But it still one of the best ps3 games around.

I love the shooting. The comparison I make is this:

Uncharted = Counterstrike

Gears = Call of Duty

Uncharted feels more tactical to me.

It is possibly still the best looking console game, although this year will change that with Gears 3 (i can admit it looks nice lol) and Uncharted 3, as well as others. Battlefield 3 on PC will kill everything though :P.

Yeah, gears 3 does look very nice.. And yeah to me UC2>KZ3. KZ3 is just weird in some places.

Can't wait for Gears though, hopefully SP is good, cause I don't have XBL.

Uncharted 1 isn't overrated. Uncharted 2 is FAR overrated. Both good games, but the amount of praise UC2 got was bordering insane, for what I seen as an incremental improvement over UC1

Uncharted 2's campaign although an improvement, isn't that great. The game's multiplayer though is a blast so I'd say the game deserves a 9, definately notgame of the gen or one of the best games ever though.

Uncharted 2 is probably the most over rated game of all time. Annoying and Bad characters. No character development ( If you say the game has good character development then you don't know what that is ). Generic gameplay and set pieces that have been done in other games. Super linear. Crap stealth.

i agree uncharted is overrated, never saw anything special about it. uncharted 2 is underrated since it didn't win every single game of he year possible

And once again someone preaching how linearity is the scourge of gaming.

I don't think it's as overratted as the generic First Person Shooters the the Lems and Herms go buckwild about all the time.

Man I loved it but a 9.5 is a bit high.

True, CoD series is overrated much worse.

But UC2 is still overrated.

Let's look at the facts:

The game has a bad story, cliche characters and average writing. It's like a Hollywood movie, all flash, no real substance.

The game has an average multiplayer, it's nothing great and it's not bad, but it's not balanced either(looking at you see through the wall perk), so that knocks points off.

The game was short, 8 hours? Very short for a single player based game.

Combat was good, stealth was okay, it was actually pretty linear, just strongly story driven; which brings us back to the cliche and predictable story. The game is overrated by many gamers and game sites.

The game is good, but no where near perfect like you guys say it is.

I think 9.5 should be reserved for games that you can't blow through in 10 hours on normal (or less) with almost 0 replayability other than to find "treasures"McGronchy
