Now it's time to bring in the flame shields.:lol:Ok since its time to point fingers, lets talk about how overrated Halo and Gears are.

I dont think you realized the production values that UC2 had. Buildings falling down and fighting on trains to name a few.Uncharted 1 isn't overrated. Uncharted 2 is FAR overrated. Both good games, but the amount of praise UC2 got was bordering insane, for what I seen as an incremental improvement over UC1

I don't use multiplayer very often. I like good storylines, and to be honest.. I loved UC.. both of them, they were both extremely good games. Just nowhere near a 9.5 in my book. Maybe 8's.
I just found it sucky when I tried playing thru #2 one more time and it was so boring that I had to take it out.
[QUOTE="gaming25"][QUOTE="-Snooze-"]I dont think you realized the production values that UC2 had. I agree, Uncharted 2 is overrated, but it was still a good game.
This exactly. Basically everything is either overrated or underrated, but as long as something bad becomes good who cares. The games are great so who cares.
Is KOTOR underrated, is GTS SA underrated, is MGS4 underrated?Every game rated 90 or over is overrated to someone. Personally Uncharted is not my cup of tea, but most seem to enjoy it

You still have control of the character and where he goes on the train.
[QUOTE="MFDOOM1983"]"set-piece is a scene or sequence of scenes the execution of which requires serious logistical planning and considerable expenditure of money." And how would that make it bad? Where did i say they were bad?[QUOTE="mrmusicman247"] That doesn't make sense. gaming25

So you mentioning it being a set peice was a positive connotation? Besides, you can still control the character and where he goes on the train so it isnt a "semantic". If that were the case than most scenarios in SP games are semantics.

I was referring to how you were using the word "semantics". It didn't make sense in the conversation. Set pieces aren't limited to cut-scenes so being able to control the character is irrelevant. You said the train section wasn't a set piece, but it fits the definition of one perfectly. Especially, when you have a basic understanding of how hard it was to actually make(background isn't in a loop). The train ride/crash, collapsing building and assault on the tibet town were all set pieces.Where did i say they were bad?MFDOOM1983

Until I find a game where everything fits so well together, such as:
Graphics
Presentation
Gameplay
Story-telling
Stealth(even though its not enforced.)
Multiplayer
And Overall fun, Uncharted is nowhere near overrated nor underrated.
And besides, every game is overrated and underrated. Deal with it.
Also, WTH is with the hate against this game lately? Before it was Gears, now this.
Oh c'mon you're out of your mind , the story fits perfectly the adventure genre , the characters are great , graphics superb for a console game , multiplayer is fun as hell , in the stealth level it was done very well for a game whose focus isn't that , gunning is very good , taking cover , all of it mechanics are pretty good actually.
Also your argument that playing on PC rises your bar isn't true , I'm yet to see an adventure game of expression be released on PC and not on consoles , while the contrary happens quite oftenly.
I guess I would have to say it is kind of overrated, even though I hate to use that terminology. The graphics while looking fantastic, are not the second coming of Christ that everyone makes them out to be. The games were incredibly fun in the single player area, but even so I never found myself wanting to really play through them again. As for the multi in 2, I didn't get into it at all. I'd rather play Gears for my TPS fix.
The only difference between uncharteded 1 and uncharted 2 is that u2 has better graphics and better cut scenes both games have suckish gameplay all around the only reason it's so popular is cause casuals don't like to think they want to be forced thru the game without choices and they like cut scenesthah-dude..... Dude.. .. this quote is just full of fail.....
I was waiting for you to come in 8). No harm though. Well, I am the resident Uncharted (among many, many other games) basher on SW. This thread wouldn't be complete without me.[QUOTE="DarkLink77"]
Yep, it's an incredibly overrated series, just as Naughty Dog is an overrated developer.

because you don't agree with him.
Yes, it is Hollywood worthy. About as worthy as another video game movie. It's cliche, average and predictable, like most of Hollywood. You better describe the substance in it for me. Character development? I saw zilch. Predictable? Yes, very much so. Hackneyed? Yes again. I will agree on the Voice acting. I'm playing through Alan Wake right now, and the voice acting is pretty horrid in comparison with UC2.[QUOTE="DragonfireXZ95"]
[QUOTE="godsendBLISS"]no, i'm just too lazy to dissect it. but here we go...
1. the story is not bad. in fact it was hollywood worthy, one of the better storytelling attempts in gaming, with exemplary voice acting. i disagree with all flash no substance, let's reserve that for cod.
2. didn't get around to the multiplayer, so i'll withhold comment.
3. i played on hard, and it ran me longer than 8 hours. the game wasn't short to me. every game doesn't require an rpg length. it was long enough.
4. gunplay is crisp, fun, fast, and satisfying, plus the hand to hand accentuate the weaponry. the stealth sufficed, for it's not a game of stealth, for the most part. linear games don't bother me. since when does every game have to have multiple paths. it's a linear game, accept it.
5. i usually don't pay much attention to reviews, but ig and gamespot gave it a 95, while 1up gave it an 100. that's holds some weight.
godsendBLISS
So you didn't even play the multiplayer? Nice.
8 hours is short. Take it or leave it. Crysis was around 12 - 13 hours for most people, and that was on normal difficulty first run through. Or how about Half Life 2? Now that was a long game.
Yes, the gameplay was good, but a game can't be perfect off of those merits, and frankly, that's about the only thing going for this game. Other games have better gameplay, so how is this game as perfect as you believe it is again?
i never said the game was perfect. in regards to the multiplayer, by the time i purchased the game, the multiplayer wasn't on my agenda, as it isn't with most games. i'm a single player gamer at heart, and usually don't care too much about multiplayer, which is something else every game doesn't require. hail to single player gamers. i enjoyed the story. yeah it had some cliches, but i thought it was quite engrossing and entertaining. what kind of super character development were u looking for? what score would u have given the game? I would have given it an 8. Definitely no where near a 9 at all. My standards are probably higher than most reviewers and many gamers in general though.[QUOTE="godsendBLISS"]i never said the game was perfect. in regards to the multiplayer, by the time i purchased the game, the multiplayer wasn't on my agenda, as it isn't with most games. i'm a single player gamer at heart, and usually don't care too much about multiplayer, which is something else every game doesn't require. hail to single player gamers. i enjoyed the story. yeah it had some cliches, but i thought it was quite engrossing and entertaining. what kind of super character development were u looking for? what score would u have given the game?
