In the way it occured it was one of the best. You were holding fighting sequences while clinging on and up to a car, and then jump before it blows up.

The fact that I barely even remember that part in the game just tells me clearly that I thought it was incredibly insignificant.

Ok. But he thought it was incredible. What's your point?

Point should have been clear--I'm stumped at how that could have been the best part of the campaign.

No comment as I haven't played BC2 on PC, but Reach does have the core game beat in a lot of ways (feature-wise). Personally, I think either game deserved the nod as both were excellent, so it doesn't bug me. ME2 better than NV, though? Hell no. BioWare wishes they were half the RPG devs Obsidian is.DarkLink77

Why would they give a game RPG of the year that got a 7.5? Also, KOTOR says hi.

Because it was a better RPG than Mass Effect 2, which was a TPS? KOTOR II stomps the original into the ground in terms of plot, story, and combat system.

I'm not sure what games you actually played, but the plot and story of KOTOR are far better than KOTOR 2. The writing can be argued, which I think still comes out in KOTOR's favor, but at least it can be argued. The other two, I'm not sure at all how you can come to that conclusion, especially in terms of how the story was told between the two and the fact that most of the story in KOTOR 2 seemed like filler to me. Maybe the ship can malfunction/crash again to kill some more time.....ugh

I played the actual games. And yeah, KoTOR II definitely had better combat. Story is better imo, especially with the RCM, but I don't think the writing is debatable at all. Obsidian pretty much always writes games better than BioWare.

Better combat, I agree, but I really can't see how a story, half of which is filler, can be better than one that still lives on as one of the best in recent wrpg's, and the second being immediately forgettable. I guess that's what opinions are for though.

I think a lot of my appreciation has to do with the RCM, in all honesty. Makes KoTOR II a ton better. Freakin' LucasArts making Obsidian rush the game.

Yes, it is. Production values are obviously brilliant, but they don't make the game.

Still pretty good, though.

Uncharted 1 is overrated.

Uncharted 2 is great.

Uncharted 3 might be both, hopefully not overrated.

I love how people love to bash Sony exclusives saying their overrated etc. Yet I rarely see topics bashing the 360 exclusives. If you wanna get technical none of the 360 exclusives are original or mind blowing. Of the four heavy hitters ( halo, gears, fable, forza) I find all of them to be overrated. Not bad games by any means just overrated in my book.

[QUOTE="OB-47"]

[QUOTE="Badosh"] probably why alot of people say it's overrated....DragonfireXZ95

Yeah, alot of people who didn't enjoy the game as much as the award givers themselves. Poor arguement, because if I was to say HL2 is over-rated, then I could just say all those awards prove it is, when really it is a masterpiece

Except gaming has changed since then. Now all you get is advertising hype and budgets that dictate game awards. It's turned into a huge farce and is just as bad as the Academy Awards or the Grammies. It's a huge joke now.

Just look at Gamespot awards for instance. Halo: Reach over Bad Company 2? That's a joke.

Mass Effect 3 over Fallout: New Vegas? Another joke.

How the heck is Halo Reach getting an award over a joke? Halo Reach is an absoultly great game with a great campaign (Bc2s one was average at best) Great online (gotta say BC2's one was better for me but still) Halo has got Forge, Theatar mode. It's a more complete package.

As for Mass Effect 2 ( you mean 2 right?) getting an award over New Vegas is hardly a joke. I got New Vegas at launch, for me it was too buggy. It had some great writing compared to Fallout 3, but Mass Effect functioned much better as a game. Whether you prefer BC2 over Reach or whatever is your opinion, but Gamespot had plenty of reason to rate it higher than Bc2.

Anyways, us Pc gamers are getting BF3 with 64 players (rumours the PC build can handle 256 players). So I think best MP game is most definatly in the bag in PC gamers favour

I'll agree that the story isnt very original, but it's told in an awesome way and gives the player enough story to keep them interested in what's going on. Frankly, if we are to say that UC2 has a bad story, then what game really has a good story? Gamers are too hard on the story part of video games... I mean, UC2's story and story telling is much more entertaining than 90% of the games out there. There are very few games out there that get props for good story and story telling... mostly I always see MGS4 getting a nod for great story telling... which is laughable.

I like games that give me that Tomb Raider vide (the PS1 ones). And UC2 has succeeded in that.
While the story is the typical bad guy wanting to conquer the world...it is at least told in a non-cliché way.
Gunplay is weak. Combat is decent. Stealth is fun. Platforming/puzzleing is great. Area's great.
Maybe it got too much hype but it's definately a good game.

Non cliched way? WTH are you talking about. The whole game is a poor cliche, they needed the Comic Biik guy from the Simpsoins to point them out, Mad Russioan guy wanting to find artifact CHECK, characters that act like friends and then turn CHECK, Stupid Eenmy soldiers that reload out in the open CHECK,The old explorer that could never find the ancient city, yet somehow has a book that tells you in detail where to find it CHECK. This story was written on an acid trip watching Indiana Jones movies...I still would like someone supporting this game to explaion to me how a machine gun ends up appearing in an ancient temple that hasn't been occupied in hundrads of years...

In this gen, games have increasingly become more cinematic. games that present a cinematic experience and successfully weave it into the gameplay are what will truly define this gen. games like uncharted are the future of gaming. uncharted 1 and 2 (2 especially) are going to be the games that are remembered from this gen.

Nope, not at all. And if overly scripted games with no replay value whatsoever like Uncharted are the future, then count me out. Games should stop trying to be movies.

1.) Characters acting like friends? Isnt there a betrayal in MGS4 , GTA4, Bioshock, and Half Life 2? I dont see your point.

2.) The only game I know where the enemies reload in cover is GeOW. Uncharted enemies have limited space to work with.

3.)He did find the city -_-.

4.)Any other unjustified hate you have for the game?

@DarkLink It's the 8th highest rated game of all time. I find it hard to believe people will be like "Lol wut iz chartedUn?"

I have to disagree with you. There aren't many games like UC2. Even discounting the production value's, it is still a solid game. The game is consistent and I like how the game is told, starting the game in medias res (the story of the game starts in the middle of the whole plot)...doing something different once in a while. Area's are memorable and each time you see a temple or ice cave...you're always like...How on earth am I going to climb this? The game/Drake also has some sense of humour, saying stuff like ''If I have to climb any more...I'll'' UC2 felt refreshing to me and it's definetely worth a place in the top 100.

[QUOTE="Locutus_Picard"][QUOTE="DarkLink77"]@UC3Drake And it totally doesn't deserve to be in the top 100, let alone the top 10. People will forget because all it has going for it is production values.

Maybe it would if naming 100 games that are better than UC2 wasn't so damn easy. :P

Is that a fact or opinion? Since 120 reviews disagree with you.

It's pretty much a fact. I don't care what reviewers think. They also thought MW2 was a great game.

They also thought Superman 64 is the worst game ever created. Does that mean Superman 64 is one of the best games ever made?

Saying "Uncharted 2 is overrated, but by no means bad, and critics are wrong" and saying "Superman 64 is actually the best game of all time, screw the critics" are completely different things.

Arguing opinions as facts is fun. Leads to a never ending-redundant conversation.

What else did it need? The game is based off of movies, thats why it was done that way.

Some originality maybe?

Why does one get the feeling that you'd like the game more if it were a first person shooter on a Microsoft platform.

Not completely different. 1st part is opinion, 2nd part is someone stills saying the critics are wrong. Just worded differently.

Totally different. One is actually a reasonable statement. The other isn't, especially if you've played Superman 64, and I have.

I ... I have to be reading your comment wrong... Are you saying S64 is a good game? Please say no to the question...
