Valve, your thoughts on why they hate the PS3?

Gabe Newell said that because he didn't think that investing time and money into PS3 tech was going to result in a significant payout for devs, either in the current or future generations. Obviously plently of developers disagreed with him (and continue to do so), but I don't see how that's "insulting". It was just his opinion based on personal experience and knowledge...it's nothing personal.

Thats quite possibly the most retarded thing Ive ever heard on system wars.

firstly tbh xboxlive is better than psn. before u call me a fanboy I HAVE BOTH!!!! 2nd All the rumors of how ps3 is hard to develop for. Why does a developer need to bend over backwards to make a game on a console?? The manufacturer in this case Sony has to bend over to make sure games are easy to develop on their console, but they're too arrogant and cocky. Dont get me wrong I love my ps3, the fact that it has a blu ray player, and the media center capabilities, built in wifi and not to mention the awweesome 120 gb harddrive to stash all my tv sitcoms on, none of which xbox 360 is capable of (except media center). But because of sonys stupidity they missed out on 1 of the best games this gen, left 4 dead. Even the Wii made alot of effort to attract devs by making it similar to the gamecube.

Mods should stay neutral and not take sides, just my opinion.awuilfj

I think you have the wrong idea here. Mods are regular users like the rest of us...except they wield The Almighty Banhammer.

It is kind of my bad, really, since i went offtopic. This is about the ridiculous statement of valve being lazy which i disagree they work hard. While i was talking about their insults. Valve could have chosen their words better, seeing as they have been under the limelight for criticizing the PS3 on more than one occasion.

Although Valve may not like the console, that does not give them a green light to make offensive comments about the PS3 and its community. The things they say are very rude and are expected to be heard in something like System Wars, not from one of the most successful companies in the gaming industry. It would be fine if they said, "I don't like it" or it's "a hassle to develop for." The comments that followed were completely unnecessary.

Exactly. Plus the PS3 is so outdated in graphics compared to the PC that it isn't even funny. The PC can easily do what the PS3 could do with graphics, & about 5x to 10x more with them.

1) Mods are posters here, just with extra priviledges. But still posters that are still entitled to their opinions like everybody else. There is nothing in rules here that state they are required to stand on the side lines and only observe other peoples discussions.

2) The mods DO have a responsibility that goes with their power. That responsibility is to enforce the rules of this forum and nothing more. They are also subjects to the rules themselves and not above it.

3) How could Teuf, or any mod for that matter, moderate a developer for something they said outside these forums? We're all allowed to discuss quotes from the industry and share our opinions on them. Even the mods ;)

Sony are now considering being more developer friendly with the next Playstation by not using what they have in the PS3 since it's giving developers like Valve problems. These criticisms by Valve and others will just make future products better.
